- Chasiv Yar is rightly seen as the gateway to the agglomeration of four cities, from Kostiantynivka in the south through Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, and Sloviansk to the north, which form the backbone of Ukraine’s defense of Donetsk Oblast.
To understand what could be a critical pressure test for the Ukrainian military and a sign of how the war will likely develop over the summer, the Kyiv Independent gained rare access to units serving both on the flanks of Chasiv Yar and inside the city itself.

The fact that the ukranian soldier admitted Russians are pretty good at the integrated ISR artillery strikes is a brave thing I respect him for rather than lying about Russian abilities like everyone else.
Soldiers usually tell the truth, they see their adversary face to face and learn to respect each other, this simple, either it's you or me. Very sad!
They need to stop the fighting. But Russians expect their border to be protected against NATO missiles aimed at Russian cities. Fired from Ukraine.
They gain nothing from lying. Underestimating your enemy is never a good idea.

human waves are only using waves after waves of infantry. but the russians are not like that they were using lots of tanks, ifv, and other armored vehicle and they are manuvering by launching assault in the very soft position undercover of artillery, drones and air strikes. after the tanks advancing and giving cover the BMP and infantry. they will deploy infantry to clearing the area which they are wanted to captured

Tanks are mostly used for indirect fire these days, very rarely you see more than a few in a assault because with drones artillery will focus on them if there are too many

They have a good amount of manpower but most of them are stationed in the northern borders. Only the damned are in the front lines.
You can't ask for Infantry unit from NATO countries, that means its direct contact between NATO and Russia, also means nuclear might be considered.
The game hasn't changed at all. If one superpower make direct contact, the other one will only supply equipments, military advisor, and mercenaries. Happened in Korea, happened in Vietnam. Now happening in Ukraine

Ukraine needs to draft ilia ponomarenko, denys dadydov and the estonian guy, they are military experts, have a keen strategic eye and deep knowledge of the frontlines. Sending them to the frontlines will be a gamechanger.
It’s a bit confusing at one point where the guy says that the Russians just keep sending meat assaults and they don’t care about losses, but the overall repeated theme is that the Russians have 24/7 visibility and much superior drone, and artillery cover. If so, why would Russians be doing frontal assaults with heavy loses? The Ukrainians throughout the video are shown to be just hanging on and being pushed back. I’m sure they are taking heavier losses than the Russians who just bomb the heck out of their positions. Some propaganda from Kiev media.

I have never seen evidence of human wave attacks, they always have support fire.
I think what the soldier meant was that the Russian army still doesn't value the life of an individual soldier, especially of an assault one.
IKR This Ukrainian soldier talking still about victory, they are delusional, I guess the drone pilots are a bit further back from the front lines that regular troops supplied for the meat grinder, at this stage they are just fools.
The reality is that Russia is adapting their tactics very well. The western propaganda (which is present in every war on both sides) told us that the Russian army is stupid and just keeps pushing ''human waves'' forward, while at the same time telling us that ''Putin is coming for entire Europe''.🤣 This is the best documented war is history, but footage of the human waves is nowhere to be found...
