Russ, when I was in Quartzsite last winter I used the Avenza app on my phone for maps of the area. You can download a lot of maps for the Quartzsite area for free. You don’t have to have cell phone service to see your location on the app as long as you have your GPS setting in your phone enabled.

Yes, GM does have their desert testing facility. On 95 once you pass that covered picnic trash dump area At Mile 56 or so. Its maybe 3 miles or so down the road on the same side. Nothing for the laymen to see, they have it on lock down all the time. But you will see camouflaged test vehicles between there and yuma all the time in the summer especially.

Really enjoying the videos of your new adventure with the Mule Pro ! Trailer suggestion/advise for what it's worth. We have a Polaris Ranger and I looked an researched for an enclosed trailer for ours to be it's transport plus garage when not in use. I ended up getting a 7x12 with the extra height and ramp rear door and it's great! Plenty of room and the extra height is needed for the entry and exit of these UTV's with the roll cages and roofs. It was around $3000 but it was brand new too. You might be able to find a good used one a little cheaper.
Keep the adventures rolling in !! Have a great winter exploring off road !!

95 Southbound provides a lot. Watch for volcanic activity. AGATES CHALCEDONY And Many more that are precious to you and me. The mountains are super wild for hiking and climbing. Drive slowly and enjoy that piece of land. People have stopped at one point for Rock Balancing. Thanks again Russ for putting in your time to remind us of the places we love. Hey hey hey, U.S.A.

My wife gave me a $200.00 pair of sunglasses. I stopped on and climbed one of the volcanic mounts near the BP check points and lost the glasses. Three months later I finally found the mount & thought I might have left them at the top. While climbing I found them laying on the ground about half way up. Great find.

Russ, love your videos. One suggestion: you use a lot of a acronyms/abbreviations in your videos (such as LTVA and VFW in today's video), that some of your viewers, especially international ones, may not know. Maybe you could use the actual words the first time you use them in each video. I know we can "Google it. Hehehe" But that gets to be a pain sometimes. Thanks.

Yuma is a fantastic place to live. Sunshine 360 days a year. Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. 2 1/2 hours from San Diego or Phoenix. The mountains change colors with the shift of the sun. Granted, it’s over 100 degrees more than 160 days a year, but I’ll take that over the cold any day.
