Thank you! My character now blinks and I did drawings, animation and everything needed in less than 10 minutes. Instant like, subscribe and added video to my folder of useful unity tutorials. Thanks again!
@@gamedevel22 This helped a ton! I would be interested to see how to make randomized blinking if that is something you're able to do, but it's up to you! ^^
@@gamedevel22 😂 lol yea im still going thru your yotube to learn more and I have to say some of your videos are really funny 😂 like the slime one and since your the creater you get special powers and spawn as any slimes as you want 😂 it was very funny
Hello again! I have a quick question that I hope you may be able to help me with :) When I click "play" to see the animation, when my character blinks, the eyes just disappear and reappear. When I click the animation alone, it goes through the full blinking animation the way I want it to look. How can I get it where the full blinking animation is shown when during the game view? I do have 2 animations running, one for blinking and the other for the idle animation, I don't think it's messing with it, but it may be :/ I've been trying to figure this one out by myself for the past couple of days and can't figure it out :( the only layer I have is the default layer, and i made sure all the eye images for the blink all have a higher sorting number than the body itself but the open eyes still just disappear and reappear with no proper blink images :/
Hey! Have you set 2 different animation layers for the blinkind and idle? That may be the problem. Otherwise in the Animator window make sure to set the right durations and exit time when switching between animations.
at 2:27 you deactivate the open eyes and activate to closed and it makes a keyframe, but when i do it, no keyframe is made, what might i be doing wrong? :/ I can manually put a keyframe with the button, but it doesnt register a change, also when i click on the eyes closed one to activate it, it closes out the whole animation :/ *EDIT* I figured out what I did wrong, I didn't have the eye blinking animations grouped or parented to anything (I just exported them and went straight to trying to animate). I didn't realize the animation has to be partnered together :) Thank you very much for the video! :D
One question; how do you anchor the eye layers to the head? I'm trying to create a walking animation for my character, but the eyes don't follow the head and it looks weird. Any tips? Thank you.
You could habe the eye Sprite gameobjects as Child objects of the head. That way they will follow the head all times! You can have a closer look at my characters hieraechy
One important thing is to have the eye Blink animation on a different animation layer..In the video you can see exactly how..That way the eye movement will be totally on it's own
I am new to animating in unity this really helped Thank you
Thank you as well! Glad I could help you out

hi, thank you for this video, can i apply the lip sync effect using this technique?
Thank you as well! I suppose yes since this can be used to animate dofferent parts of the character in isolation! Lips and eyes are the best examples!
@@gamedevel22 thanks🙏🙏🙏
Thanks a lot! :D
I have to thank for the support!

@@gamedevel22 That fixed it, thank you!!
thank you
i need smooth blinking tutorial
How smooth do you need it?
@@gamedevel22 very smooth.. Like using Live2D... Sprite mesh deform or something like that
nice , but i like it creepy without even eyes
Haha that's an option too!
