- Here's Richard Cowsill of the Cowsills band on the Howard Stern Radio Show, New York City, from June, 1991. He, along with Frank Stallone, were on for about three hours total. Much of the time was devoted to the day's news and far too many commercials. And, in keeping with Stern's personality, much content was misogynistic and sexist, so that along with the irrelevant talk and commercials I excised for this release. Audio Only as this is sourced from a radio show.
Richard was in a bad place at this time. Angry at his brothers and his sister, he eventually found inner peace and peace with his siblings.
Richard passed away from cancer on July 8, 2014.
Please comment, share, like, and subscribe. The more of these you guys give the channel, the quicker I'll post additional Cowsill content. I need to know people are watching :) - เพลง
such an amazing family, such an amazing story. the documentary movie and youtube, etc have all brought so much light and perspective to this, to us. it breaks my heart to see how these talented children suffered and have had to live with the scars. somehow and thankfully love and reason did help heal.... thanks and prayers for those cowsills gone and those still with us. 🙏
As an original fan, I thought of them as the perfect family. Little did we know.
Thanks for posting this. Love the Cowsills.
Glad you enjoyed it
Go ahead, go ahead, let him talk
Even when there's only one Cowsill, there still has to be ten people talking at once
Yeah, I know. It's distracting but I feel for Richard and wanted him to tell his story.
Thanks for posting this - this is great! any chance you have more random stern stuff this is classic.
Hey, I have hours and hours of Stern on tape dating back to his NBC days.
Any chance you can post some more? This stuff is great. If you need help transferring let me know! If you’d prefer chat off TH-cam plmk!
@@holden190 sorry for the multiple messages - any chance you have any stern stuff from 86 or 87?
It's too bad Howard couldn't be serious about this. Howard thinks he has to TRY and be funny all the time.
Yeah, Stern is mocking Richard a bit. I only posted it since it's the only long interview with Richard.
Didn't Richard sing with the Cowsills later on.
Yes. At The Taste of Rhode Island Festival in September 2000. And again with them in 2003. Poor Richard had such a terrible life. Physically abused by his father, two tours of Viet Nam which led to a horrible heroin addiction. May he Rest in Peace.
@holden190 Yes, a lot of Vietnam Veterans came home addicted to heroin. And Vietnam Vets came home to a Country that didn't want them. A sad time in America history. Semper Fidelis from an old Marine Sergeant
Yes, they were all physically abused, to make matters worse the dad does not allow Richard in the group. Thank You for posting holden190. RIP Richard, Bill and Barry 💔
@peppercat8718 I watch the Cowsills ( Bob, Susan, and Paul) sing on TH-cam all the time. Barry and I were about the same age.
Richard, commonly referred to as Dick by his siblings was treated more Harshly by his father than what the other siblings got, however it should be noted all of the Cowsill kids were physically and mentally abused.
I’m glad Rich sought help with a therapist who helped him sweep out all of the clutter in his mind because of the extra abuse, Bud dished out to them.
I’m also glad Dick worked out the issues needed from the Toxic siblings and difficulties he experienced.
I recently placed a sibling in a no contact status.
Over the last 20 years she would have snide, curt, condescending comments towards me .
Her body language was another disappointment.
And she would cross my personal boundaries with false statements and the list goes on.
I now understand about narcissistic personality disorder and I’m slowly healing from a long ordeal of mistreatment.
I have such empathy for Richard. He was treated like crap. I was hesitant to post his appearance, but I wanted to give him a voice. Best of luck to you.
Thumbs down on this one. No actual video, everyone talking over everyone else, can't see who is talking.
Sorry no video. It’s a radio show and the only Richard interview I could find.
A lot of hosts do that. Not allowing the guests to finish their sentences, it irritating.
