A delightful introduction to the gorgeous Hodge. Doorkins Magnificat will be missed but I know visitors will be so pleased to see this wonderful furry boy. Long may he reign - and well done for getting a rescue cat!
Thank you for loving Hodge and giving him a loving home where he will be admired by many. Dear Doorkins would approve and likely watching from Heaven. Ah, tuxedos!
I'm so sorrowful to hear of Doorkins passing. But this cat now is going to do just fine I think. Thank you Padres for opening your hearts and letting kindness flow out for Hodge. May the Lord be with you all.
Welcome, Hodge, to my favorite cathedral! Whenever I visit from California, I always stop by Southwark Cathedral and always feel very welcome there. I met little Doorkins last time and mourned her recent loss, so I'm happy that Hodge will be taking the job and look forward to meeting him on my next visit! He's a very fine cat, indeed.
Wow what a beautiful sweet cat!!!! Thank you so much, really thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving him a loving home ! Especially after what he went through . This is for be what God’s want us to do, animals needs us to protect them. I had a cat like that and they are super amazing and adorable loving cat. I will definitely come to the cathedral to see Hodge, the cathedral and of course you and to thank you . God bless
How wonderful. Lucky Hodge to have been given the opportunity for a new life in a caring environment. He is very beautiful. I am nearly 80 , lost my husband 9 months ago and am now unable to walk. I had a cat all my life from the age of six. They make wonderful companions. Sadly when the nerves in my feet were destroyed I also became allergic to cats. Not by sneezing but by coming out in a most distressing rash whenever I touched one. Sadly I had to give him away. I do get great pleasure from watching cat videos. Thank you. I am in New Zealand.
Nice to meet you Hodge! You’ve got a lot of work to do, patrolling the cathedral and keeping it safe as well as being greeter to the fans who will seek you out - but you have landed in a very good place and will be lovingly looked after from now on. 😻
Thank you Dean Andrew for introducing Hodge so beautifully. l met Doorkins and was so upset when she passed. Her 💝 service helped many of us who'd lost our own pets at that time Now l have an uplifting focus to return to London after a restricted year 🙏
Hodge has real gravitas! Welcome! I realise belatedly that my computer mouse (I still prefer one) has been moving over Doorkins Magnificat for years without me taking due notice. I’m sure Hodge will provide a new generation of mouse mats with a suitable picture!
Welcome Hodge! Merry Christmas to all, and a Happier New Year, then 2020! Stay safe! Best regards from Lisbon Portugal. PS - I only knew Doorkins from TH-cam...
Your video brings this American lady such joy, I was heartbroken I would never get to meet the kitty of Southwark Cathedral one day. Now I have Hodge to look forward to! I was wondering where the name Hodge originates from. Turns out Hodge is another name for "Roger" & originates from Ireland or rather English & Scottish immigrants who brought it there in the 17th century. Thank you for introducing Hodge to us!
Exactly! Now, I have a reason to travel across the pond again, hopefully soon 🤗😆. Where do you live? I'm in CT and booked the best trip through Aer Lingus, summer of 2019, to see the Red Sox- Yankees game for our honeymoon 🤗
@@stellagrau8871 you're welcome, no problem, I just liked his name and was curious as to what the origins were. And since I looked it up, I thought I would share.
Thank you for having Hodge, and for providing a plan for my next day out 🙂 thank you also for remembering Doorkins. I only came across this channel a few days ago, and was moved that a mass was held in her memory.
I have been following Hodge on twitter and the incredible affection and fun he exudes all around the Cathedral. I pray I meet him someday if I ever return to the UK.
By chance i watched today’s mass ( Sunday, April 18th, 2020) and saw Hudge (didn’t know his name, though.) I noticed the white boots. Just imagine to arrive on the very same day everyone at the Southwark Cathedral was thinking of dear Doorkins
My first time here. Three years on, is Hodge well settled into cathedral life? Who looks after him, gives him his meals, cuddles, veterinary care? Hope he wasn't lonely and forgotten about during the pandemic. He looks settled and happy.
I suppose you could say he's officially in the verging department - meeting and greeting people as they come in!! Large free accommodation and as cat food for wages!!!
Hello Hodge! Carry on the work of Doorkins Magnificat. You won't be the same, but you'll have your own unique personlity to offer. Just waiting to give you a cuddle!
@@josephinedewar8250 Yes, he will be different to Doorkins Magnificat. Each of them is as different to the other as we are, which suggests that they, like us, are possessed of an immortal soul...

Hodge looks like a lovely kitty, and he is very nattily dressed in his tuxedo. Wishing him many years of blessing the parish.
The delightful sight of Hodge can manage to warm a heart 5300 kilometers away in Quebec, Canada. Wonderful!

A cat in a cat-hedral...
"Not the first hodge"
Oh, so there is some strange personality with that name before!
