When you're talking about a hole from the surface to the lava zone there actually is one: The mountains corridor. So it opens up in the koosh zone travels through the lost river briefly, the drops straight into the lava zone. It is a big cavern one that is even home to a juvenile ghost leviathan.

So far, from what I can tell, Ghost Leviathans incubate very well in low temperatures, which is strange, as it is normally the opposite 3. The Lost River has very high acidity, so high that the brine that collects in pools in the Lost River is so acidic and heavy that it sinks in water and dies not appear to dissolve and 4. How are the eggs there? For this to be possible, the Leviathans would have to come back and breed in Lost River, and we also know that they leave for the craters edge or one of the blood kelp forests at a young age. Why do they only seem to breed and incubate in such a specific environment? Is it the PH levels? Is it the temperature? There are plenty of nutrient and mineral rich environments in other areas, but they don't breed there. Even in the blood kelp forest in the North. Why just the Southern Trench? Why the Lost River?
For theory 2, that WAS correct earlier in the game. Basically, by the front of aurora there was a hole where a reaper lived. and it went all the way down to the lava zone.
I’ve already said this but, Theory: the 4th degasi sea base was crushed by the aurora when it crashed.. or it was swamped in sand when the aurora crashed
You mean 5th? There's the one on the mountain island, the one in the Lost River, the one in the Lava Lakes, and the one in the Inactive Lava Zone inside the mountain. That's four.
I remember the hole to the lava zone, in early development it was the “hell hole” at the front of the aurora where sea dragons dragged down reapers. It was removed later on because of the fact that late story occurred there but it was placed there earlier before any story elements were in the lava zone.

The Last Bacon there’s another problem that I thought of and that would be how nightmarish it would be for a colossal creature like a reefback to get enough food to sustain itself let alone fight off the disease for so long. If it were a floater ten it would likely have to be about 2 fifths of the craters area

I agree with Niki45nk. Also, we don’t see this in the rocket launch. Moreover, there would only be one specific place to enter and leave a Ventagarden Leviathan and this doesn’t coincide with the locations of the Aurora crash, the Sunbeam entry and the different locations available for the Neptune rocket launch.
There is no evidence to back that up, but I do believe that a lot of species have developed dwarfism because of the constant change in land formation due to the lava zones. There is every chance that the stalker species rapidly evolved dwarfism to suit the now narrower channels and kelp forest.
About the lava zone theory, I remember in early development the only access to the lava zone was a giant opening almost similar to the void right next to the aurora, maybe they were just too lazy to recreate the data lol
The Last Bacon well the crash zone corridor wasn’t the only way a Sea Dragon could get to Reaper territory, in the Lost River there is an area called the “Mountain Corridor” which is one of the two entrances to the Inactive Lava Zone, and it also connects to the Mountains, a biome that is home to Reaper Leviathans, so Sea Dragons hunting Reapers is not only canon but POSSIBLE, there are also Reaper skeletons in the Mountains Corridor and green brine, so here is my theory about that Reaper skeleton, it was from a Reaper that somehow managed to escape the Sea Dragon’s grasp, only for it to realize it’s deep in an underground cavern, and it probably couldn’t use it’s echolocation, as it would attract the Sea Dragon that’s hunting it, and without its echolocation it had a harder time navigating it was probably boiled by one of the nearby hydrothermal vents or melted by the acidic brine leaving only the skeleton behind. the Mountains Corridor would also definitely be the preferred hunting route as the entrance to the Mountains is one big pit, the entrance to the Inactive Lava Zone is also one big pit that skips the Inactive Lava Zone Corridor entirely and leads straight to the Inactive Lava Zone Chamber and then to the Lava Castle and each part of the route is clear enough for a Sea Dragon to fit in.
Since the Cuddlefish can't get Kharaa (I'm pretty sure) in the game. I think that the reason for making them would've been to create a creature immune to Kharaa, and then they made them so friendly and social since they saw this as an opportunity to create a companion.

Just wainting Ark lore videos! Since the Ark live was so much Fun :) Also great video and keep up the good work! Oh about the theory of the cuddlefish, they probably try to use the emperor dna to create a New specimen that they can extract the Enzyme 42, to cure kharaa. Since the forced egg Hatch don't work.
I really love Subnautica. It's been a while since a game made me feel what this game did. However, I always wished there was more. I best the game, and then proceeded to beat it again. And after that... There wasn't really anything to do. And that just made me feel... Empty
The cuddle fish were the ones studying the basteria. When the sea dragon attacked and free the bacteria they had to trap their babies in eggs that will only hatch in specific conditions in order to survive. They only had time to trap 5 babies. Or The precursors were sad and created the cuddle fish to not be sad anymore
Besides lava the big issue with 1st theory is that i'm pretty sure scans that told you its a volcanic crater would be also able to tell its not just on any ground but on a creature. And the fact we can't even see a creature when the map ends. So what, the devs made the map float but didn't bother making what holds it up? Same goes why i doubt is floaters. You can go under it and see none. People may say thats because you are not supposed to go under it but well thats exactly why the map ends suddenly as well.
Ok here me out on this one, we know the precursors have been to earth at least once in the 13th century. What if they went back. What if in the early 50s they traveled to earth but never left. The whole Roswell New Mexico alien conspiracy was just a crashed precursor ship. Another theory is that altera already new of planet 4546bs defense system. They just never went there because they thought there was nothing of value. I think they intended on assassinating the Mongolian ambassador along with getting an insurance payout for the aurora. Since the smaller Mongolian space mining companies were starting to bleed altera. Killing off a key member of that influence would allow them to sweep up the competition again.
pda while im construcing my prawn: It is normal when first piloting a prawn suit to feel the sense of limitles power. prawn operators recive weeks of training to counteract this phenomenon. you have to do it with self discipline Me 3 secondes later: Silver and led the reaper is dead
I always thought that Warpers were made from the Rock punchers, as they both have arms which go down and back up, with a tool of some kind at the end, they also both have like the face pinchers.
Alternate theory of the giant Reefback: The Atlas Leviathan. A colossal leviathan that has been forced to hold up the entire map, so it won’t crush it.
4:49 I really like this theory because it would also explain why we only see reaper skeletons when you would think if the sea dragon was going through the lost river it would hunt ghost leviathans as well
Regarding the second theory, there is a thermal vent in the safe shallows, that you can’t go into in creative mode. I think maybe that vent was originally supposed to lead into the Lava zone, and when the idea was scrapped, they simply added a bottom to the vent.
last time i did that, i died almost at endgame. Gathered enormous amount of resources and was building my base, got to excited and didnt mantion that my oxygen has ended. 16 hours of progress:(
Theory: the reason the ghosties stop chasing you once you reach a certain distance in the void is because they feed off of careless creatures wandering into the void, and don’t wanna chase something that small and low-calorie so far away from their main food source
I think the theory on how everything is on a giant Reefback is really cool. Just imagine, that you never knew you were on such a huge creature. And I also thing its a really cool theory. I hope you make another theory video like this one!
Theory: I’m pretty positive that there is a reaper leviathan skeleton in the lost river so maybe Sea dragons send their young to the surface and kill reapers. If you’re theory 3:17 into the video is right (which I believe is) if my theory is wrong the sea dragons could be dying out soon. Maybe the sea dragons have an ability to lure reapers to the lava zone. Hope you all enjoyed my theory, Thank you for reading
Theory The true ending of subnautica the plants core blows up and then becomes a huge black hole and sucks everything up Wait is the planet a semi sphere or donut
Omg yay you acknowledged my theory that there is a giant floater under the map thanks so much! I think I may have an idea of how there is a volcano, the underwater islands have thermal vents but aren't connected to the sea floor, what if that is some sort of floater "puke" and the lava zone is floater "puke" as well but then this bring up the question, why doesn't the floating island have lava or vents. But it is weird that the underwater islands have thermal vents
I think this is reading to much into it because players weren't meant to get to that point and they couldn't very well make the map go down or out forever as that's a lot of resources. Do you but realize that there are restrictions to games that no other medium has
I have a theory about the Warpers. What if the fleshy parts are what the Precursors used to look like? Think about it, look at Al-Ans head shape and then the Warpers head shape. They look very similar. Plus, we don't see anything else that looks like a Warper anywhere else in the game.
About the second theory in an MXRplays playthrough he literally comes up from the lava zone to the aurora through the hole. It used to exist in the game but Unknown Worlds filled it up apparently
my theory: the aurora never crashed, Ryley is just making fake scenarios out of boredom my way of backing this up: pda, notes to self. the time it feels like it will take to get back
I have a theory The cuddle fish is the baby version of the ice monster in below zero.it was probably the only one to grow and evolve to get to that stage but froze to death in the Arctic zone.
Now, I know this sounds crazy. I know people are going to argue with me and deny this. But I think that there might be a connection between cuddlefish and the warper or sea emperor, even going as far as being related. To support this, I have looked at the design on all of them. They hall have forearms, tentacles, and had some relation to the precursors, at least in theory for the cuddlefish. I know this sounds wild, but I do believe this might be worth looking into.
Subnatica should add a "seed" world generation after finishing all their main objectives. It would be so cool to find crazy combinations and share them with the community, that would add a lot of popularity to the game.
About the hole from the safe shallows to the lava zone. It was called hell hole, it was in the sand dunes, not in the safe shallows. In one of the videos from Markiplier, he even created a base in the bottom of that hole right above the inactive lava zone. It would be the area for the Sea Dragon to swim up and hunt Reapers (and when you think about it, it would make that the Reaper Leviathan isn’t a Leviathan. He wouldn’t be in the top of his food chamber) but it would be unfair for the game to spawn Sea Dragons so early, so even then it get Sea Dragons there.
I support the Floater-under-map theory. Remember, the Floating Island and Underwater Islands were once connected tothe land, but were brought up by the Floaters, IIRC. So, the Crater can still be a now inactive volcano, but it was broken off of the land it was connected to and is now floating.
4:09 maybe your right. That might be why the aurora shakes a lot, also that might be why the reapers guard the area and are aggressive, because they think you are dangerous or involved. They can’t trust no one.
Imagine a mod or update for either of the games with a procedurally generated map? Same biomes, different layout? Could be a lot of work but also could be incredible. A different playthrough every time!
I came up with my own cuddlefish theory the other day during my current playthrough. I think they may have been brought to 4546B by The Precursors to use their high intellect and social skills as companions and/or creating new organisms. I think it’s reasonable to theorize that the Precursors may have even used the Cuddlefish as a part to create to create the Warpers, given the keen intelligence and social skills of the Warper. I think the fact that one of the Cuddlefish eggs can be found in a Precursor laboratory supports my theory and shows they were at least aware of the Cuddlefish and likely studied them in some fashion.

Theory: warpers were related to the sea dragon/emperor.
Perhaps some of their DNA is shared indeed :)
Hey what if the dwarves from Skyrim went into the future and became the precursors from subnautica
Now that would be an ambitious crossover :)
Elves making life? Blasphemy!
@Cole McGuire (STUDENT) yeah idk, they could have advanced heavily
Hmmm,I did get dwarven cave vibes in the precursor base
Nah they are probably ether in oblivion or they just zero summed (not sure how to spell it...)
Theory: Riley Robinson is dreaming
Oh yeah, that is a very famous one too :)
Yes lol
To me that theory is pretty generic... I don't like it because I have heard it too much.
Dreaming about a lot of swimming? That's a nightmarish wet dream
WHILE IN THE AURORA
Theory: Past Genarations of the Stalker use to be a Leviathan
I think that is very likely actually! :)
There is no evidence to back that up, but I do believe that a lot of species have developed dwarfism because of the constant change in land formation due to the lava zones. There is every chance that the stalker species rapidly evolved dwarfism to suit the now narrower channels and kelp forest.
I think that they are related to repreper lviens I might or might not be prothen right

@@ombaaa wtf why was that so good
About the lava zone theory, I remember in early development the only access to the lava zone was a giant opening almost similar to the void right next to the aurora, maybe they were just too lazy to recreate the data lol
True :) I wonder if we can still consider that hole canon even now.
I have a crazy theroy: the planet is just a bunch of pixels in a small container that other worldly beings use and "play" it for fun
That would be a crazy theory indeed :)
Since the Cuddlefish can't get Kharaa (I'm pretty sure) in the game. I think that the reason for making them would've been to create a creature immune to Kharaa, and then they made them so friendly and social since they saw this as an opportunity to create a companion.
I like the idea! Yeah maybe they were a part of that research :)

I really love Subnautica. It's been a while since a game made me feel what this game did. However, I always wished there was more. I best the game, and then proceeded to beat it again. And after that... There wasn't really anything to do. And that just made me feel... Empty
I get that :) honestly always end up feeling that way after finishing a great game!
Subnautica: Below Zero is out now!
did you know you can watch the sea emperor juveniles grow up?
The cuddle fish were the ones studying the basteria. When the sea dragon attacked and free the bacteria they had to trap their babies in eggs that will only hatch in specific conditions in order to survive. They only had time to trap 5 babies.
Or
The precursors were sad and created the cuddle fish to not be sad anymore

I remember back in 2016 there actually was a big hole at the front of the ship that led to the lava zone
True :) in the early alpha days!
Ah yes the golden days
Best part?
It was only covered, not removed.
I agree
Yeah I definitely agree :) it's a cool idea but not very likely!
I mean....the 2nd theory wouldn't even be that crazy in my book :)
Thank you for using in search of familiar harmonies as your background. It's my favourite piece of music in below zero

Me 3 secondes later: Silver and led the reaper is dead
Haha yeah it does really make you feel powerful! :)
I always thought that Warpers were made from the Rock punchers, as they both have arms which go down and back up, with a tool of some kind at the end, they also both have like the face pinchers.
I went into the safe shallows hole. It was in a beta. I was playing creative mode spawned a prawn found a hole and jummped in. I found the lava zone.
Yeah back then it was still accessible :)
Alternate theory of the giant Reefback:
The Atlas Leviathan. A colossal leviathan that has been forced to hold up the entire map, so it won’t crush it.
I like the name :)

4:49 I really like this theory because it would also explain why we only see reaper skeletons when you would think if the sea dragon was going through the lost river it would hunt ghost leviathans as well
True! :)
New Theory: Ryley Robinson is the purple guy.
Haha that's an ambitious crossover :D
the man behind the slaughter
@@sub2jackspedicey312 The swimmer behind the slaughter.
Regarding the second theory, there is a thermal vent in the safe shallows, that you can’t go into in creative mode. I think maybe that vent was originally supposed to lead into the Lava zone, and when the idea was scrapped, they simply added a bottom to the vent.
I suppose that could be the case :) There used to be a hole like that next to the aurora in the early alpha.
Im trying to finish the game on hardcore mode,I've made a seamoth and a cyclops until now

Theory: the reason the ghosties stop chasing you once you reach a certain distance in the void is because they feed off of careless creatures wandering into the void, and don’t wanna chase something that small and low-calorie so far away from their main food source
Maybe yeah :)
My theory:Everything is a massive reaper leviathan skeleton, any objections
Ehhh would't be the craziest thing I've heard :)
Space is just a massive reaper leviathan change my mind
I think the theory on how everything is on a giant Reefback is really cool. Just imagine, that you never knew you were on such a huge creature. And I also thing its a really cool theory. I hope you make another theory video like this one!
Thank you :) I also agree that the idea is very cool!
Theory: Subnautica is a simulation made by altera, to see what you would do if this happens in life. Just a theory...
Haha that is quite crazy :) I like it!
Yeah I believe the dragons are indeed dying out :(
But hey those were just a theory, a game theory... I'm going to [REDACTED] myself now
Haha where is MatPat when you need him :)
I highly doubt the crater is a giant reefback... because reefbacks are LOUD. Surely we would be able to hear it loud and clear if it was.
Yep good point :)
Theory The true ending of subnautica the plants core blows up and then becomes a huge black hole and sucks everything up
Wait is the planet a semi sphere or donut
That would be quite unfortunate :D
What Subnautica creature is what makes your spine chill most? Bacon...
I just dont get how u have only 50k subs u should minimally 1mil
Thank you very much for the kind words :)
Thank you for submitting it! :) I actually think you might be onto something there....after all, we never see floaters expel anything!
I think this is reading to much into it because players weren't meant to get to that point and they couldn't very well make the map go down or out forever as that's a lot of resources. Do you but realize that there are restrictions to games that no other medium has
This makes no sense
Is a theory it's not gonna make 100% correct and it can't be that confusing if bacon put it in his video
By reading this you have been rick rolled
Not again! :D

Also I spent the past millenia sending a pointless comment :)
I have a theory about the Warpers. What if the fleshy parts are what the Precursors used to look like? Think about it, look at Al-Ans head shape and then the Warpers head shape. They look very similar. Plus, we don't see anything else that looks like a Warper anywhere else in the game.
I suppose it is possible that to an extent, they would've created the warpers in their own image :)
Plot twist: The peeper is the biggest leviathan and this whole other world is his play ground
That would definitely be a plot twist :)
About the second theory in an MXRplays playthrough he literally comes up from the lava zone to the aurora through the hole. It used to exist in the game but Unknown Worlds filled it up apparently
Yeah true :) I kinda wish it was still a thing!
The hole was in the reactor room, right?
Maybe the cuddlefish was made to be the sea emperor's friend because the sea emperor talks about how lonely it is.
Maybe :) it sure looks like it shares some biology with it!
my theory: the aurora never crashed, Ryley is just making fake scenarios out of boredom
my way of backing this up: pda, notes to self. the time it feels like it will take to get back
Lol that would be a twist :)
thats not at all likely but sure lol
Haven't been playing subnaticua in a while but this video made me want to thanks for getting me back!!!
Yay nice :) glad I could do that!
0:15.... *_You..._*
*Genius!* I love that pun
Haha thank you :D
I have a theory
The cuddle fish is the baby version of the ice monster in below zero.it was probably the only one to grow and evolve to get to that stage but froze to death in the Arctic zone.
Would certainly be an interesting theory :)
No
Me: looks at sea dragon.
Also me: looks at cuddle fish
Propably just a coincidence
Haha sus :D
Now, I know this sounds crazy. I know people are going to argue with me and deny this. But I think that there might be a connection between cuddlefish and the warper or sea emperor, even going as far as being related. To support this, I have looked at the design on all of them. They hall have forearms, tentacles, and had some relation to the precursors, at least in theory for the cuddlefish. I know this sounds wild, but I do believe this might be worth looking into.
I suppose it isn't impossible :)
So subnautica's flat-earthers are those who think the world is on a giant reefback.
Haha exactly :D
Subnatica should add a "seed" world generation after finishing all their main objectives.
It would be so cool to find crazy combinations and share them with the community, that would add a lot of popularity to the game.
Oh yeah, I can imagine that would make Subnautica insane :)
Bro i just love this channel
Yay thank you :)
Happy 40k subs wish you all the best
I know I am late a little but...
Yay thank you! :) You guys are the best too!
The last bacon: maybe there was a hole to the lava zone from the crash zone
Me: there was, but the devs scrapped it
There was indeed :)
Yeah I'd still love to see a cutscene of a dragon coming up and dragging a reaper down :)
@The Last Bacon It definitely would be very cool looking!
I support the Floater-under-map theory. Remember, the Floating Island and Underwater Islands were once connected tothe land, but were brought up by the Floaters, IIRC. So, the Crater can still be a now inactive volcano, but it was broken off of the land it was connected to and is now floating.
Yeah, it definitely sounds viable :)
4:09 maybe your right. That might be why the aurora shakes a lot, also that might be why the reapers guard the area and are aggressive, because they think you are dangerous or involved. They can’t trust no one.
Perhaps yeah :) who knows....
Imagine a mod or update for either of the games with a procedurally generated map? Same biomes, different layout? Could be a lot of work but also could be incredible. A different playthrough every time!
Oh that would be so cool :)
I really like that theory :) It would certainly explain why they stand out so much.
As usual, quality video.
Loved the stream the last day btw. :)
Do you plan on doing any streams on Subnautica? (The OG game.)
P.S - Nice Reaper shadow @ 1:00
Thank you very much :) I definitely want to do more streams soon, not sure if Subnautica tho...
Seeing the Sea Monkey in Below Zero, makes me think that they were altered into the Hunters.
Same kinda shape, arms, good at seeking. Since its mentioned that they are probably a splice of many animals, perhaps mostly the Sea Monkey and Cuddle Fish.
Dang yeah, that is a good point! :)
0:59 *anxiety intensifies*
Haha yeah that's uncomfortable :)
