It’s basically the tank hunter from BF1. Except it has a scope, a sweet spot up to 100m, it does a less damage to vehicles, and it’s a primary.

The AT rifle is unnecessary for a loadout, Ok the Tankgewehr in BF1 was powerful but that was only available for the Tank Hunter kit so it wasn't widely disreputed to the Scout Class
Should be required to be scout rank 50 and unlocked that way tbh

Well... I mean it is an ANTI-TANK rifle, so I would imagine it should be able to one shot it.
Rocket launcher can't one shot kill someone...
corey worden which, in truth, should. But it also depends on how direct the impact is, as a rocket is more of an explosion in the games. The rifle is meant to shred through a tank, therefore a person would have no ability to survive the rifle. As for a rocket, it should be a kill if you shoot it directly at somebody’s feet or their body, but near them is where it gets a little weird, due to the explosion.

@@liamsteinhardt8634 well, if we are accurate, an AT rifle would just pierce through the human body, and assuming it didn't hit a vital, you would still be able to fight, assuming you aren't unconscious or immobile due to pain/shock.
That's what I was saying n go look at the real rifle n just go check it out.

They should have released it without scopes like the MMGs, it was only ever used with irons during the war and it would help a lot with balancing.With only irons I feel like I could probably play better with a regular rifle, but still have fun using it.
I agree. Cause I'm pretty sure the recoil on an AT Rifle of this era would be more than enough to shatter that glass optic after one shot.

Rogue Reaver There were experiments with 16x optics by Redfield, however the rifle was phased out before any real battle testing could take place. There were also a plethora of muzzle brake designs made as well.

I can remember back in the day when MOHAA was the MP game everyone was playing and the sniper rifles were always one hit one kill. We would have matches one clan vs another just no scoping! Those were fun times. Multiplayer has changed so so much when you think back to those good days

Oshane Willie Anakin has 4 CC abilities now currently 3. He’s been nerfed 3 times and has zero weakness other then a good phasma player. He has a 360 choke hold that can kill you even if he has 1hp left due to the fact your grabbed in the air for 5 seconds(anyone can damage you)
Tldr: he was completely broken op at launch it almost felt like a April fools joke there’s no way something this op can be in the game.

Implementation of weapons and game mechanics that promote or lends itself to non-objective play.... without testing any of them before release. The running theme of BF.
The Tankgewehr from BF1 was always my favourite just because of the one shot kill so this weapon is amazing
In Bf1 it was balanced, as it was a pickup and only couple players could have it at a time. My suggestion would be to slow movement speed with it. That would drive people mad and discourage the usage of it.
Not to mention you must prone with the Tankgewehr. This right here is just ridiculous.

You're absolutely right. I remember reading a book about AT weapons and it said that the Boyes AT rifle had a massive kick.
The Boyes was designed to be used while prone.
It should be a one-hit kill at short range though.

Damage nerf would be nonsense for a AT rifle. A appropriate bref would be no hipe fire or even more recoil even with the spec
And also remove the 3x and 6x sights. Then it would require more skill to use just like the tank hunter rifle from BF1.
The AT Boys anti tank rifle is meant to take out armored vehicles, i expect that instant kill getting hit by a freakin cannon

I think the way to balance it would be to slow down the movement speed in all directions a little more and make the hip fire less accurate. I mean after all its a very heavy rifle.

Lowering movement speed, increasing reload time for the rest it is fine. It's supposed to be strong (.55cal)

@@Dudesmack I agree that it wouldn't be exactly elegant, but I think that would be a sufficient enough way to push up the difficulty gap for the weapon without actually messing with the damage at all, and it isnt without precedent (martini, tankgewehr, etc) just an idea though, and they obviously have to do SOMETHING because its just too much of a change to the meta for one gun to inflict on the game.

IRL whole magazine finished firing at a helmet you thought was an enemy.
They need to remove the scope option. Irons are more than enough for it's intended role of tank hunting and it reduces it's anti infantry potential

AT material would sever a man in half. Say the insta kill is where it should be.
If this gun had no "sweet-spot" nobody would use it at all. Imagine hitting someone below 100m and only giving them a big hitmarker. You would be dead before you have even rechambered. One must not be a fan of it, neither am I hower I would definitely not call this gun "OP". However what I really do not like is that this is another gun encouraging players to go prone and play extremely passively.
However the gun is way less effecitve than it seems to be based on that video here from JackFrags. He makes this thing look like it is "OP" which it simply is not although it can kill enemies with one-hit up to 100m. So far I have not seen to many people ranting about that gun calling it unbalanced or "OP". Moreover hip-fire is rather inconsistent, sometimes you are like 1 meter aways from the enemy and it does not hit and sometimes you hit someone at 20m. Hip-fire is simply random but in the video he makes it look like every time he uses hip-fire he kills someone.

Shouldn't be able to hip fire it at all, you'd probably dislocate your damn shoulder or worse. Even secured it was said to be painful when fired, and only used without a support of some kind in emergencies.
@@ColJenkins I thought about that as well, and the problem I ran into with removing the hip-fire capability is that you're back to the Tank Hunter from BF1. There needs to be something more that sets this rifle apart, and I think that taking away hip-fire in this situation trades fun for realism.

In a game where the other bolt actions get outsniped at medium range by smgs, it was about time the recon got a gun that lets them join the fray.
Besides, prone leaves you vunerable and unable to move fast enough when every thing else just have at you.

I think a reduction in ammo cap would help a lot. Or making them require a station or a crate like equipment. Then they would be objective centered weapons. Maybe a mag or two max before you need to resupply. Plus makes a lot more sense.

It sounds like that main take-away from your video is that the rile in its current state doesn't have any downsides that are "significant enough" to prevent it from excelling in certain scenarios. It may be beneficial then to make its hip-fire less effective, which would then push the rifle out to a more medium-ranged engagement role. And in the process you'd have fewer instances of people using it like a shotgun.

I got this weapon using company coin as I started playing the game to late to unlock it in the tides of War for that week did get this week's weapon last night thou, it is alot of fun I have had a number times when I get a glancing shot and the weapon only does 1 damage which I expect a the shot bounce off the vehicle doing minimal damage, currently working through the ability tree to get the one that has AP round to do improved damaged against vehicle's which will definitely help on maps that have lots of armoured vehicles moving around
Used it last last hit a cross map headshot it's ridiculous! I love it.

It reminds me of the Martini when it first came out. It immediately was my new highest kill weapon. Then they nerfed it.

*Battlefield v* this rifle is good for one hit kill, hip fire no scope, and collateral kills
The gun was suppost to be a Anti Tank weapon but it could only mainly be used on Transports unless you get behind a Tank so the PIAT replaced it. The one shot is pretty accurate in terms of being historical but most Anti Tank Rifles were only Iron Sights so i wish they got rid of scopes but overall its a deadly weapon.

By the time the AT rifles went into mass production, they became obsolete and were replaced by things like PIAT,BAZOOKA,PANZERSHREK
However, they were used effectively against infantry, often ripping them to shreds. At least on Eastern Front, PTRD/PTRS were used mainly for taking out german infantry
I'm glad you are enjoying it but it gets frustrating when you get in a game and half the other team are camping using that gun. 15 guys one shotting you from the bushes or rocks. Saw it last night.
This reminds me of BF4 in hardcore mode when sniping is one hit one kill anywhere with any bolt-action.
This can be easily fixed.
Make it require bipod to *FIRE*, increase the time to bipod, and maybe make the bipod sticky like 4
Edit: and maybe double vehicle damage to pull aim away from infantry
@@mazen6446 Hey, first argument: 4's bipod wasn't shitty, it just required more thought in when and where you placed it. #2, sure as hell didn't see any complaints when the Tank Hunter needed to be bipoded to be fired. #3 Im not talking ages longer, just not "Slap it down in a panic and fire". #4 you totally glossed over the vehicle bonus damage. Im simply asking for a successor to the Tankgewehr

I love that battlefield always puts in a gun like this. Or I should say at least for the last two games. I like high risk reward weapons. The drilling is another one. The sniper rifle in the game as far as I'm concerned. Martini Henry in battlefield one.
I do hope they get rid of the no-hit fire for machine guns in battlefield six. Or at least make it reasonable. You can completely missed somebody standing by the front of you and that's just crazy.
