Looks like a '50-'52 M38 body with the tool indents on the passanger side and the 3a windshield with the bolted shut vent. Has the M38 battery box cover on the cowl. Does not have the M38 hinged grill though. Not as authentic as you claim. The mirror isn't t be bolted to the windshield either. But I do have to say, it is very nice.
really great job and sensitive work. it misses the original air cleaner oil bath configuration though, which is a pity. i am also not so sure about the windscreen being the original thing, but the rest : well done.
Thanks for the info. This Jeep already sold to a buyer in Germany. I should have done more research before listing it. I don't have alot of knowledge about these models.
CJ-2A is the civilian version of the military jeep. I doubt if this jeep was ever used by the Army. The gas cap is on the outside..the MB model the gas cap is under the drivers seat and can be locked. The MB and GPW don't require an ignition key to start them they had a push button starter.
Its not an M-38 those came later I think in the 1950's. My brother had a CJ-2A like this its the civilian model of the willys MB.someone has repainted it could be its a prop that was used when filming WW2 movies most people can't tell the difference.

I know this is almost 2 years old, but come on man. A 1947 Willys CJ2A "Military Edition"? Get it right and quit trying to B.S. the public just to sell a vehicle. If you don't know what it is or if it's a mash up of jeeps, then say so. I've had two '47's and currently own an 86,000 mile original '46 CJ2A.

Not cj2a it's a m38. Didn't have a roll bar originally. It's been in the family that long and you still don't know what it is....hmmmm

M38 not 2A , at Pioneer tools are on the passenger side there's no split windshield in the wipers are not in the right place
