The difference between Larry and everyone else is his ability to tell a story and how relatable his small business is for people getting out of the rat race.
I remember watching his videos in 2007-2008 timeframe, until then I had noticed, no one woudl tell you their polishing secrets. He just made it easy for everyone to understand.
@@80srenaissance67 of course. He makes real money from manufacturing his cleaners and coatings. He started very late in the coatings. he is an experimenting guy.
Yeah, and Larry just seems more...real than the other "satisfying video"-style TH-cam detailers (not all TH-cam detailers, of which there are plenty of great ones; I just mean the ones in that very popular style). Even when he does these "disgusting" style details, I actually can believe that this organically came up. With the other channels, it just seems like they're desperately on the lookout for the most disgusting vehicles they can find, for fear that a regular old vehicle might not get enough views. Also, I really can't stand all these style of TH-cam detailers putting out their own product line, which are just generic detailing products that they put their label on. I deeply respect that Larry at the very least puts in the WORK to make these products his own and does a lot of his own actual mixes/creations.
A lot of the young ones have probably learned a lot watching him. I want to say I was watching him over a decade ago, but seems like his videos go back only 9 years. Anyone know if he had an earlier channel or maybe deleted the really old ones that might just be updated?
Love your willingness to help out the people in your life and all of your relationships seem so warm and genuine. Thanks for being a great example Larry and teaching us all some great lessons that you may not even realize.
Not only is your skill and talent and dedication to your craft part of what makes your videos so satisfying to watch, but the wealth of knowledge you share with your audience to better the community that you've become such a vital part of is incredible. Your genuine kindness to the people around you and your willingness to help makes it that much better. The world definitely needs a lot more Larrys!
I like Larry's individualized approach to each detail. Detailing a work truck will be different than detailing a barn find or an exotic car for a museum.
Man I watch almost every detail channel and this guy effortlessly cleans in the most professional and scientific way. He's far and away the best made this car look damn near new
That was impressive! Between the headliner, headlights, bed protection and the amazing work on the interior if there was a concours for work trucks, this would take top honors.
Yes! For an enthusiast, detailing awesome cars is fine and dandy. But for me, seeing a work truck/ daily driver getting the love it deserves is a whole different ball game.
I think what I love most about Larry is that even though he is one of the top detailers in the world he still stays humble enough to detail the guys truck who is working on his lift. Not too many people that acquire skills like this, and work on a prestigious level such as he does stay humble enough to do stuff like this.
The fun fact is that they appreciatie the effort, but once they are alone in the car they will see the real deep detailing that has been done, and they will really appreciate it after 2 days by contacting about the changed car! Love it 🔥
You are the only detailer I watch on TH-cam. I have learned so much from watching your videos on top of what I already knew so now I can protect our brand new car we just got 2-3 months ago. Thank you.
Good job, Larry. Out of all the TH-camrs out there producing content like yours, your somehow rises to the top. This video also reminds me that I need to restock soon, haha!
Your videos never fail to grasp and keep ahold of my attention for the entire duration. You always have something informative and new every video. I learn something every time. I'm sure making your videos can be time consuming but I appreciate all that you are doing for us watching. Thank you sir.
Back to basics!! Love it Larry! I think doing some ‘regular’ cars here and there keeps the channel relatable and relevant. Thanks for the great content as always 👏🏻
You're a good man Larry for helping out your friends! That DA on the headliner is neat, never seen it used like that, I was taught to use a DA with a MF pad used for leather seat cleaning but rarely do it in practice
I was just searching for how to detail my own car with a steam cleaner when I found your video. You come across really well on camera. You look like you love your job and explain things in an entertaining way. I would not be surprised to find out you had a show on Netflix. Further, you're a miracle worker when it comes to detailing. My husband is a mechanic, and his truck could really use your automotive resuscitative services. I hope you keep enjoying your wonderful work for a long time.
Best freakin car detailing channel in all TH-cam.. Period. Your immersive content is highly addictive. Once you start watching an episode, you want to watch it until the end. Kuddos for a great delivery and teaching skills, I'm 45, and I've been in the car world since I was a kid, and I've been wrapping cars for the past 12 years, and your content has pushed me to pursue car detailing to expand my shop's services, I recently became a Rupes Certified Detailer and I watch your videos to learn even more. Keep it up!
Respect for this Larry - realising that one man's dirty truck is his means to not only earn his livelihood but also to support your own business shows not just business sense but also human values too. These little things go a long way, right?
Great work as always, I will never understand how people can neglect their car/truck like that and never clean it. In this case the truck is your business card as well and cleaning it weekly part of a business expense.
I have many times tackled an interior like that with your products and I've had amazing results. Proof is in the pictures, and the happy faces of the customers. Not only that, but it is so satisfying to take before and after photos. Cheers!
I love that you did this for the service guys that work in your shop. I respect that a lot and shows that you're a man that appreciates good business. Keep up the fantastic content. Thank you!
Larry, I know you’ve heard this 100’s of times over but your work is very inspiring and I share the same passion that you do! Love watching the videos.
I admire your attention to detail. Coming from the used car business and doing buy here/pay here, I’ve seen worse. To get those ready for resale, you have to remove the seats and carpet for a complete cleaning. Although we usually take about a week per vehicle. So what you did with time allowed was great. Keep it up!
Larry once again you’re teaching me how to become a better business man and detailer! This truck is a perfect example of you scratch my back I’ll scratch yours. The steamer is going to be a machine I keep in my arsenal at all times! I’m learning techniques that I never knew before! The safety aspect is one that I never thought of and now will put into consideration every time I must! Keep up the fantastic work!
I love seeing clips like this. Nasty as they are, you bring it back to life. I (no professional. Just a weekend warrior) love projects like this. Not that my vehicles would ever be this bad, just having a project like this is so therapeutic. I’d do it for free.
As I've mentioned to you in other forums (read emails), I'd love to see Shag, Obey, Dygest, Syphon and Lather sold by the gallon. Without a doubt, the best cleaning products I've ever used and my wife continually takes my spray bottles to do clean-up in the house. #AMMOgallons
After a long week I'm sitting in my Sluggard-Boy chair, watching you work on my monitor. No idea why this is so relaxing but it works! Plus, I find new ways to spend money on my cars.
I don't understand how some people aren't going nuts when they see their old beater turned into a like-new truck. But then i remember that its the same people that let it get that way in the first place and couldn't care less anyway. This was a serious overhaul, great job on this one, Larry!
Love this one!! I bought my dream truck, a 2006 suburban 2500 that lived as a farm truck for the last year or so. The interior was covered in dirt and animal hair, so I’ve been stripping the interior down to the body itself in preparation for a good power washing (and much more). Also cleaning every interior part that has been removed, inside and out, before it goes back in. Can’t wait to get it all back together and hopefully cleaner than it came from the factory! Thanks for the inspiration and motivation as always! Bonus points for the gmt800 detail!!
A well maintained work vehicle says A LOT of your level of professionalism IMO. Whether you do it or have it done it represents the quality of what you do. I have more respect for a well maintained older vehicle than a brand new shiny one. I love the transformation of this vehicle and your friend has to feel good being in it again.
Larry is the engineering explained of auto detailing, sure there’s lots of detailers but when you think of professional results Larry is who comes to mind
Quite the incredible Before/After!! Great to learn about how you cleaned all of that grease and oil off of the interior panels too - what a difference!!
I love detailing I love the fact that you don’t get emotional because you know the car will get dirty again but is enjoying what you do that matters 😎💪🏾
Just unbelievable, Larry you are as great at telling the story and keeping us engaged with your words as well as with your incredible skill and attention to detail as anyone in the industry. Please open a AMMO Detailing Studio near Atlanta lol I would love the opportunity to learn. I’ve Been a Shop Foreman for a large Honda Dealer for 16 Years now and Detail on the Side, I would quit in a heartbeat to make transformations like this everyday. Your truly a master in your trade. Keep up the awesome content.
I love seeing regular cars/trucks being worked on. It's completely satisfying and all great info & tips for my 2002 Ram 2500, that I plan to keep on the road for another 200k miles.
I noticed that after using the DA on the sun visor, some fabric pilling showed up. There are some real cheap de-pilling tools that shave off the balled up fabric and catch the shavings so there's no mess. Plus you can use it to freshen up clothes that have developed pilling from wash and wear.
Larry to say your part of my inspiration in working to start my own detailing business would be an understatement. Your perfection and attention to detail is awesome to see. Great video as always.
I have seen all your videos but sending you a message with this randomly.I just want to let you know that your videos are pure inspiration very well edited and that you feed my hobby and dream with all of them Manyvthanks from Spain.
This is what I strive for. It's how I detail. Check out eastwood brand, rust convertor. Then top it with any media you like. I either paint over it, use spray on bed liner or seam sealer if on a pinch weld like the door skin you talked about. All fun stuff. Restoration detailing 👍👍😬
I loved this!!!! We have a Ford F150 work truck we bought used and I have no idea how to clean it's nasty seats. They are like raw leather (think of a saddle) any suggestions, I literally thought about using saddle soap on them because it is meant for raw unfinished leather like that? Fun story we actually found gravel inside the panels of the bed when we first washed it 😲
One of the most notable things about Larry is, after doing the entire detail, he says, ” *we* fixed the headliner, *we* cleaned it up, *we* painted this”, etc.. I’ve had too many managers who never lift a finger, make *I* statements, as if they did anything and never credit the team that actually did the work.
What an IMMENSE turn-around! This was so incredibly satisfying to watch. My favourite part was how well the leather cleaned up. I’d like to see more average type vehicles like this done. I love the cars you do normally of course, but this was such an amazing turnaround that I’d like to see more of work type vehicles done.
Great vid Larry. While I enjoy all of the amazing car details, it’s this kind of vid cleaning a work truck and how to deal with crazy work truck dirt that really helps motivate to keep our vehicles clean! Thank you!
The leather on these GMs is not "natural", it's got something that makes it weird and plastic. I imagine that plus the cuts in it just makes the job "get the grease out and to hell with it".
After seeing how you kind of almost aggressively scrubbed the seat with the steamer, I had an idea. Couldn’t you make a video in which you test and show the boarderline after which certain materials are getting damaged…? Like the typical „when does Car paint get burned through using a rotary polisher“ but for other materials as leather, plastic, rubber and so on.

Wow that trick with the DA/microfiber pad on the headliner is awesome! I’ll have to add that to the repertoire
Really shows how well thought out the material choices are in these trucks. Goes from a complete disaster to almost new.
Wow, what a difference. Great job on the truck and also on helping him out.
Larry, you’re the best

Im getting my hands on an old suburban soon and just bought a steamer to help with cleaning the leather, SUPER helpful video and great timing.
I am afraid there are not enough lifts in the world your buddy could service to pay you back for that transformation. Awesome job!

And whata a genius idea of the microfiber pad cleaning the headliner! Wouldn’t have thought about this at all!

Hey Larry, quick question: were you not worried about the steam damaging the leather? Or is just the age/ condition of the truck it doesn’t matter?
The leather on these GMs is not "natural", it's got something that makes it weird and plastic. I imagine that plus the cuts in it just makes the job "get the grease out and to hell with it".
As long as you wipe up excess water, and condition properly after steaming then there is very low risk of damaging the leather.
Steam isn’t nearly as damaging as spraying water out of a hose.
Looking forward to the Taycan episode Larry, I remeber I watched the Smoking Tire Podcast and you mentioned with your crazy commute.
Great job on this! Really digging the jazz during interior cleaning!
Great job Larry. I have an 05 Tahoe and this detail hit home. Felt like you were detailing my personal truck.
