Governor calls the Bears stadium a non-starter. Yeah. No s**t. Now it’s time for Kevin Warren to get serious.
Warren is a clown
Only the bears would buy that beautiful land out in Arlington and then pull this.
It is ridiculous that they're asking for another stadium after they had us destroy Soldiers' Field for them.
I would like to see the numbers showing how much net positive income comes in from the Bears.
There's a lot of money spent on sanitation / garbage pickup, street repair, policing...
I want to know that there will be a net positive for the city.
And no, I don't give a flying patootie about bragging rights.
Don't bother. There is NEVER a net positive for the taxpayers. Anyone who says otherwise is either from the NFL, one of the politicians who was paid off by the NFL or some deluded fan who values a stadium over better schools and roads.
Why don't they just get find an investor
Why not pay for it all themselves would be the best option.
Because the city will benefit from the investment
@@sgarhern123 No, it won't. That's what the NFL wants you to believe. If there was some benefit in investing in a stadium, why would the NFL allow anyone else to get in on it?
Bears are paying for the stadium but wants the city to pay for the park around it which will be public. Otherwise its going to have a direlect stadium with no purpose
1. The McCaskeys are not as rich as you think. There barely considered billionaires
2. The plan was for the Bears to cover 75%+ of the stadium cost (not the surrounding infrastructure)
@@Angry_Peanut_52 I don't care how much or little money the McCaskey's have. They DON'T need any taxpayer dollars to make themselves richer.
How do you justify GIVING hard earned tax money to billionaires when we need better, schools, roads, more police etc etc etc?
Kevin Warren is a dud
No public funds for billionaires and millionaires and their multi billion dollar franchises, period.
Absolutely! Not a single thin dime!
Finally! Someone with the backbone and business sense to stand up to the NFL. Mayor Johnson are you listening?
I just wished that he would have stood up to Biden concerning the illega5immigrants the Governor c
didn't mind spending tax payer dollars on
@@mrAhollandjr I just wish you'd stop watching Fox.
According to the Bears the state should abandon a perfectly functional stadium that they still owe $500 million on in order to take out billions more in debt to build a new stadium right next to it, with the justification that it can do events in the winter and bring a super bowl.
News flash: Stadium tours are not going to come in January because they do tours in the summer. And even if one does come in January they are not coming that same year in June. There are very few acts that can fill a 70,000 seat stadium.
A super bowl is one event that brings in about a hundred thousand people...once every 10 years or so? And the city should take in billions of debt for that?
This whole situation is absurd. If you need a new indoor stadium so bad then go to Arlington Heights and pay taxes.
100%
The rest of Illinois shouldn’t have a say in Chicago business. This would create tons of jobs
Yeah minimum wages jobs that nobody wants to work
If they’re paying for it they absolutely have a say
