I love seeing EC getting that much attention in the US. I'm from germany and know these guys for a decade. They deserve this sooooo much. all their live performances have been a party from beginning to end since i know them
US fan here who found them when hypa hypa came out and fell in love. i passed up seeing 2 bands i had wanted to see for years at Download Festival just to be able to get to EC’s tent an hour early to get a good spot and they are 100% the best live show i’ve ever seen 😃 i’ve also found a bunch more German bands i like because of them (pre-EC it was only Rammstein).
I went back and listened to their older stuff and it's not bad at all, but since Nico, they're _exceptional_ . Even better, they're unique. Sincerely, Fellow American who has been hooked on EC for the last year.
adding a 2nd comment to say they do all of their own videos from idea to physically making the props to filming. Pascal (one of their guitarists) has degrees in filmmaking and vfx and his brother is a director/DP/audio engineer. they’re legit DIY and i think it helps in making everything about them feel so authentic. they’re also all just ridiculously nice human beings.
They actually made this song and applied with it for the Eurovision Song Contest. They wanted to represent Germany with it. Would have been absolutely awesome, but they were not chosen by the jury. Total f*cked up story. The "reason" the ARD told was that they could not play this song in radio. EC got a huge amount of praise for that song, the Jury a whole load of criticism, which was well deserved.
I think it's amazing that you can actually understand the scream parts on your first listen. Ive listened to these songs SO much and get words here and there lol
I saw these guys last night and holy hell they do not disapoint. Not only are they extremely tallented but so funny too and they put on one hell of a show. They are such a great live band too. Also i think its just impossible to not smile at one of these guys songs and videos. One song I would suggest is Hurikan. Not Hurricane as thats another one of theirs. That will make you question everything and Mindreader and Love/Hate are 2 serious but just as good songs.
They were fantastic last night, and really engaging with the crowd... Just a bunch of nice guys and you could feel there was such a good vibe and so much love in the room. They definitely didn't disappoint!
