I like what you did with it, clever move. I agree it did look a tad odd in the beginning, especially the top mount part. I think if the mount was further down and a little shorter so that it was recessed behind the panel a bit it might have looked cool but i'm not sure how that would have worked out structurally.

100% better !, my only suggestion would be to isolate the two pieces @ the top with a thin glazing strip to void chafing but that might make the metal pucker if it has too much to give, maybe a thin plastic for rigidity 👍🎩😎

Kordare you could get another rear bumper, cut it right in the middle and extended to the panel. When it comes to the end of the quarter panel; not sure if you still have the piece that’s next to the tail light..... but you could do something like it
