this song is a perfect representation of the skylanders series, old and abandoned, but for those who remember it, a beautiful and endlessly magical place
Didn't expect to see this masterpiece of a comment when I sorted by newest
This is the best comment I’ve seen in a while 🥲
Truer words have never been spoken before in TH-cam comments
man i cried when i readed your comment
Wow that hit hard
this was probably one of the most serious level in the entire game. kaos abandoned his friends, and made some into slaves, ones that failed where killed. makes you think
The idea of just these creepy dolls living in a village in nowhere is so unsettling. It’s a shame trap team kinda ruined it tonally.
@@frogmouth2 how did trap team ruin it?
@@TacoLogan08 they removed any sorta creepy or uncanny factor.
@@frogmouth2 wait so then remind me... What creepy factors were there in Swap Force? 🤔
@@theemperorcat9832 I’m talking about the wilikins specifically.

This level was REALLY creepy, but I believe it's my favorite all the same.

Very emotional music giants was like the best skylander game
Kevin Kirito best game*
Oh yes
When it first game out you see nothing wrong about the graphics but now in 2019 you see how much it looks like. 1998 game.
Giants was still one of the best games.
Bruh giants was released in 2011 and who said anything about graphics?
@@Man-mv7qk Giants released 2012
This creeped me out when I was playing the game. The "real world" Is so empty and dark, but the wilikin world is so happy... a bit too happy. There is also a cave that you can't enter that says something about it being used to keep something in, so maybe that's where the wilikin keep the victims.......
Umm, this was actually my favorite level in giants. Because of the music... :|
Meekle 33 well done I liked the Wilikin!
@@ghostcat9786 yaaas me too but it made me a bit sad :/
or it might be the rations to keep the army of the skyliet states of russia fed and strong
the wilikins are live already, they just prank horribly with us >:v
This is actually sad... how Kaos left his friends, how his friend miss him, the Wilkins are dead when in the 2d world where the 3D world is so happy but... 2d makes you feel so bad and sad and creeped out...
Didn't you here at the end of this level on the dread yacht
The wilikins only pretend to be dead in the real world
@@charliewarly2179 yeah, and they're perfectly alive in the Kaos' Kastle level, and in the levens they are in in Trap-Team
I think we got ourselves a GAME THEORY!
@@ender01o66 well, I don’t know about that. As it turns out Kaos has an execution chamber for the Wilikin that fail him. In his own Kastle
@@justincummings8557Where is it said that Kaos has an execution room?
This stage is a lot more impactful 8 years later
10 years later. that's a decade if you think about it.
creepiest fucking level of my childhood (also probably the best on the ost)
I just beat this level a few minutes ago and it quickly became my favorite level so far.
The mechanics and look of it really screamed a 'Perfect suburb' and this music, oh my god. The Emptyness of the 'Real world' and the liveliness of the 'Wilikin World' was perfect.
Yeah it really was perfect.

Ah, the old times. I really like Skylanders Giants more than any Skylanders game. It brings back memories. The good times :)
R.I.P mums wallet
was my first skylanders game...
or was it swapforce
anyway
i remember getting it for my birthday and there was an eruptor on the cake and i thought it was chocolate and i tried to eat him
ah to be young again... er... younger again
This is no joke, my favourite level in gaming.
Mine too
Same for me
Yeah, same :)
Idem bro
Yeh me too ❤️
Nostalgia 100% creepiest, yet one of my favorite levels
Karsen Hanna ikr
At least in that level, I had FRIENDS :(
In this level (in 3D mode), there's this house with a ghost that flies all over the place and that you can't interact with... Spooky.
I remember that
Which one is it?
Devin Leber first house in the left
and the music changes
That house creeped me out so much as a kid.
“Time to sleep!” - Willikin (When using the World switch)
god Lorne Balfe was such a genius with how haunting he made this score, wasn’t he? i remember playing this level just a few days after Christmas the year it came out. all my bright, new skylander figurines ready to step on the portal. i’m in college now and they’re collecting dust back home. i think this level was astonishingly self-aware and probably the most forward thinking of anything the franchise could’ve put out. what’s so powerful about this level and its score is how it deals affectively with ephemerality and death. everyone’s relationship to their childhood toys must eventually come to an end, but it’s also important to contextualize this level within the exigency for a toys-to-life franchise. this score, this level, the Skylanders franchise are a swan song for toy figurines as a media form in the movement toward digital gaming as the primary children’s “toy”. our skylanders figurines are the liaison in this transition from physical to digital and thus maintain a high level of ephemerality and historical specificity. the skylanders figurines are an homage to a now dead generation of children’s toys, and an eerie meta-commentary on media’s alignment with modernity. what comes after the toy has come to life but to feel the punctum of the object and peer retrospectively behind the deconstructed facade of its very animation? the creators anticipated this with the skylander figurines they put out and we are haunted in this level by the prospect of the skylanders we’ve grown to love now receding into obsolescence with time; they’ve now become like those curious, uncanny little relics called the Wilikin we encountered all those years ago. our heroes would always become this. we just didn’t know it at the time. and who have we become in their absence?
damnn thats the best comment I've seen in a skylanders video
The memories. I'll remember Skylanders Giants forever.
At first I agreed with Flynn in thinking this place was creepy as all heck, then I switched to 3D and was very happy! However, I then learnt the backstory behind the Wilikin. Poor things.
After almost 12 years this level is still my favourite
The older graphics of this game definitely lend to the atmosphere of the stages, especially this one
As a person who has been playing Skylanders for years this gives me nostalgia
Willikin Village was the perfect blend of Meaning and not being traumatic. It told a story of sadness, how the evil is human too, and let us reflect on it. It didn’t overstay its welcome. It was simply fun with meaning. Funny how this little level has given me a prime example of what art is supposed to be.
1:27 beautiful...
Giants was my introduction to Skylanders. Easily my favorite of the series.
This level was something special... I loved this series, and it will always live on my heart
Fitting how we end up in such a haunting era, after tragically losing Machine Ghost in a very emotional cutscene...
Giants definitely had the darkest tone in the series when you think about it. Great game regardless.
I love how chilling the music is :'3 Combined with the backstory of this level, it really makes it the creepiest music in Skylanders yet~
I just love this music. The winding part is so cool. I play this level over and over cause of the music.
favorite music and level in Skylanders world!
Same,
Same
It's genuinely one of the best pieces of music out there, plus it was in the best game of all time...Skylanders Giants
It will forever be in my heart
This ost make me fell so nostalgic
Same
I’m with u💪🏻
Sombody come here because you remember your childhood
With a Wii Console?
yes ;-;
Yes
Yes but i played it on the xbox
The amount of SOUL I felt when I heard this for the first time remains unmatched. I don't know how they did it, but they did it.
Cali - "I don't think they're people... they appear to be wooden dolls of some kind"
the truth when I was 4 or 5 years old (which was when I played it) this level and its 2D song did not scare me at all, nor even the dolls scared me and to this day the only thing that manages to do this song and This level is to bring me a lot of nostalgia and sadness due to what the poor dolls had to go through (they suffered the abandonment of their creator and 1 doll named Catherine died abandoned in that world)
I feel like theres so many mysteries behind this village that no ones talking about like the ghost girls house and that weird cave that the wilikins kept something (or maybe their victims) in it i tried searching up theories for it but i found almost nothing other than a few theories on the ghost girl
TH-cam died a long time ago 😢
But why don't you make a video about this?
I'm working on a theory right now
Am I the only person who still plays this game, and thoroughly enjoys it despite beating it several times?
you are not, trust me
Tbh someone could make a horror game off of wilikin village i mean they have a sad back story: being left on an island by their creator, the story could be that ur trapped at the wilikin village and they all turned into horrific killing machines and u have to find a way off the island somehow and u can use the world changing thing for puzzles overall i think a well made horror game based off of this could potentially hit it big itd be a new and unique concept and with the right amount of time and love put into it be really great
I think a suggestion to add a more accurate terror feature in this game would be leaving the Wilikin the same, except YOU'RE playing as Kaos and you return to the island in the normal world. You want to make it off the island before the Wilikin capture you and keep you in their Wilikin village forever...no food or water, just haunted wooden dolls who will never let you go...
The best video game level of all time❤️
I have to agree ;)
I used a Video Recorder plugged from my Xbox to my computer and recorded the music directly from the game.
So wait were the creaking sound effects in game or the actual song
this brings back so many memories
Basically skylanders lavender town if you come to think of it
so much magic in this area. not a lot of games have areas like this.
When I was little, this was definitely my favourite level - everyone else was creeped out but I just loved it, although the music made me sad. I don't think it's creepy at all🤷🏻♀️
i think the same
its definitely eerie but not necessarily creepy, theres still some weird element of safety and familiarity to it thats kinda hard to explain
That windup noise these lil guys made is still embedded in my head to this day
Man this song is nostalgic, definitely the most memorable level in the game for me makes me a lil sad that another Skylanders game wont be coming out.
This is for real one of the best level designs i have ever seen in a game
The Wilikin Village was kinda creepy, and in the main part of the village theres a house with a ghost in it, I think to myself that the ghost is one of the Wilikin that was killed by Kaos.
I should have never sold my Wii...
You can play it on Dolphin Emulator, but it might be too laggy
@@gremezahk1 I've checked it out already. People indeed mentioned it's quite a hefty game, requiring a powerful PC, which I don't have. Plus, you need lots of extras and the game's ROM. Thanks anyway for your response!
Lorne Balfe casually drops the most gorgeous music ever composed for a video game and nobody bats an eye
So sad... So creepy... So nostalgic...
I miss this games...
I miss this times....
#skylandersforever
this creeps the shit out of me
For some odd reason this song makes me remember my dreams
I paused this video to go and have dinner, I came back and it was playing by itself
this is one of the best levels in the game
this sounds so creepy with the music box esthetic but also sad like childhood memories left behind. this would be the credits music if toy story 3 ended with them all in the attic, forgotten.
Skylanders back then: 3D Wilikin Village
Skylanders now: *2D Wilikin Village.*
*Abandoned.*
Introduced a lot of kids to unsettling horror.
This level used the 2 world system from the dark light crypt in the first game.
This shit scared me back in the day when i was A kid.
Swap Force may be my personal favorite Skylanders game. But this level, without a shadow of a doubt, is among the most memorable in the entire franchise.
Back when skylanders was actually good
Agreed. Newer is not always better.
After swap force things just changed
fuck me what a level this was... so unique and memorable
when i was in this chapter i cant finish him because i was young and i was terrified by the wilikin and the ambiance of the chapter but it was a very good lvl one of the most original
Giant 😯😢
creepy music and I'm watching on halloween!
Baron of Yorkshire, Fleshlord of the Übercircus yes very nostalgic now
everybody is just talking about how the Wilikin world theme song scary it is
Me over here just think it's calming
Same omg
ok here is my top 3 fav themes in skylanders Giants 1. junkyard isle 2. the willikin village second world 3. main theme
IF they remaster. I really hope this level keeps its heart
Oh, 2012
Hi i'm from 2021
The wilikins are so cool and I felt kind of bad switching to the real world every time. Like I was halting all the wilikins' lives for my own gain
Once again never underestimate the power of music, because this level's theme really endeared me towards the freaky creatures
Later in the game, they confirm that it's a joke they like to play, and that they're alive in every world
So don't feel bad anymore I guess xd
These games had no right to have such good music
Yes they had, they were all fantasticly enjoyable and soulful games
I legit quit the game on this level, sitting right in front of my bed I thought a monster under my bed was behind me.
I eventually came back and did it. Man this level is creepy
this was one of my favorite games
At 0:29 it sounds like you’re looking for something like how they were looking for their lost friend Kaos and then at 0:44 it sounds like people sighing out of like boredom because he never came back
Remember the haunted house?
Played this for the first time had a really difficult time sleeping afterwards
We didn't know we were in the good times till they passed
But what would it add to know? I'm fine with just having lived in the moment.
Wow nostalgic
*LORNE BALFE YOU FUCKING MESIAH YOU’VE DONE IT AGAIN!!!*
me when i first played giants and heard this: wow this is terrifying
when i heard the 3d theme: That's better
You do charity work man
this was and still is my favorite skylanders giants level, listening to this makes me cry with nostalgia because due to a game error I can no longer play it on my Wii ;-; ;-; ;-; ;-;
i dreaded this level when i was younger, i just had a dark feeling about it
I felt exactly that; but I embraced it.
The feeling I get at this Level is kaos used to have a good life and that his parents were killed or something very bad happened and that these were his friends. He would play with them and be here and be happy but something changed and that’s with this music reflects on and I really enjoyed this I wish more game creators did this kind of stuff.
His parents aren’t dead, his mother is just a villain so she influenced him a lot.
@@crypt1k755 I know I just get that feeling that Vibe I think it would have made for a better background story.
Memories
🤧
I want to play it again :(
I thought this music on this world was so damn creepy when I was little. I dreamed nightmares about that world and the music. I became so scared that I even destroyed the game with a scissor XD..
Oil Spill Island 2.0 I think. In terms of how creepy and atmospheric the stage feels both visually and in the music; it has ather dark imagery in comparison to other stages much like oil spill, again a level i found myself coming back to way more than others XD
That one house with the ghost girl in it still gives me the creeps
Pour les Francais qui ont fait ce level, sachez que les voix de certaine poupée ont été faite par la voix française de daphné dans Scooby-Doo
Creepy but at the same time beautiful
0:42 best part of the track :)
There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. Welcome. . . *_to the Twilight Zone._*
The intro to the level is creepy no doubt, but when I saw the wilikin come to life after using the thing and the color became bright and normal I felt more calm and the level wasn’t creepy after that. At least for me.
I miss the Skylanders franchise
Ah yes, RuneScape. My favorite Skylander's OST.
When you said Runescape I had to like this comment
this was so scary to me and I thought they died when I set the world to 2d i revisited giants and i honestly still feel a bit creeped out but i love it so much :D
Even though the wililekens weren't dead, I'm still curious about how the houses and objects go from 2d to 3d. Maybe the fountains DO have some effects...
This lev legit gave me PTSD. I got stuck on some puzzle and spent half an hour in this creepy village listening to the beautiful, yet unnerving music. Whenever I think of the chord progression I get flashbacks to the horror of this level.
It’s designed excellently for sure, but man do I hate it
The wilikin dolls are kinda like Playmobil figures
ah yes, my first skylanders game, this game had surprisingly good music and atmosphere for a kids game
