This has been very valuable to me as I'm moving from Copper to Fiber. It's a whole new ball game going from Copper to Fiber. Just got my accreditation for Fiber Splicing here in Australia and shortly will also be moving into Fiber Testing. The Smart Link is brilliant. What I'd like to know is which of your OTDR's have this feature. In the training classroom, we were using the mts4000 but weren't tolled about the Smart Link.
Hi Martin - The Smart Link Mapper is a standard feature on all OTDRs from VIAVI. Check out our OTDR Selector Tool to help you identify which OTDR is best for your needs. viavisolutions.link/cq6

Hi @millie_arzuaga: The blue connector on your OTDR is most likely an SC/PC connector. You can connect any fiber optic cable, patchcord or launch cable that has the same connector to your OTDR. To connect your OTDR with a PC connector to an APC fiber optic cable, you will need to use a hybrid patchcord or launch cable.
i am interested in buying one of your otdrs but i am confused between the models you guys have . I have a pon and ftth network with a no. of splitters (8way)
Very well done, will probably use this to teach new splicers about the OTDR!
Great video, and very helpful information. How can we get a PDF copy of the training guide used in this video?

Hola señores de Viavi, seria espectacular que este video y todos los vídeos que ustedes publiquen también lo hagan en idiomas español.
