They say that it is the emotional moments which mark our lives and I agree. In 1967, my best friend died from a broken neck after falling in the tub. As you said, you only have snapshots in your head of the funeral and the shock and horror of seeing my beautiful best friend in her Girl Guide uniform in a box was one which I shall never be able to erase. I have the same type of snapshots of my daughter's funeral and there are whole days after her passing that I have no memory of at all. Unlike your beautiful relationship with her parents, every time Karen's mother saw me for the rest of her life, she would burst into tears and turn away so I avoided her at all costs, including hiding in the middle of a clothing rack in a department store until she moved away. Determined to do better, I have lovely relationships with my daughter's closest friends and they sustain me on the hard days. Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us. It reminds everyone that life is short, time is fleeting and the emotional connections we make are what life is all about.
Caroline you were lucky to have had such a cherished friend in Linda. She chose you wisely as you then went on to be such a support and comfort to her parents ❤
What a wonderful tribute to your childhood friend Linda and her family. They live on in your heart and have helped shape the lovely person you’ve become. x
So heartwarming and sad Caroline, yes, I am in tears. My daughter passed away when she 30, and friends and family say how brave and stoic we have been, I don’t feel that way inside.
A beautiful, meaningful and heartfelt tribute to your best friend and her family. I’m sobbing as I write this. I’ve never felt the need to comment on any of your vlogs before, despite having watched your channel for over six years, but today’s video warranted it. Your eulogy for Fred was so thoughtful and touching too. Thank you for re-posting this.
Blubbering wreck here, what a heartfelt tribute to your best friend and her family. I'm lucky that I still have my best friend of 64 years, we live in different ends of the country and although we don't see each other physically very often, we keep in touch via social media etc. Our memories live on and I'm so grateful to have them. Thank you for sharing ❤️
What a lovely tribute. I also lost my childhood friend at 16 in a car crash, she died on her first real date with her boyfriend and was so sad. Her mother also gave me her chain when I visited her and will never forget it
Dear Caroline, I was in tears watching this wonderful tribute to your friend Linda and also her brave parents. I have only followed you for a couple of years, mainly your fashion reviews and of course your double act with Carla. Comedy gold. This was another level video and took you courage to film. Thank you fir sharing x
What a lovely tribute to your friend and her family 🙏They are all back together now and smiling down on a wonderful friend may they all rest in peace ❤️
I’m so glad you shared this! ❤ Sweet Linda and her parents are sleeping peacefully and what a beautiful reunion they will have in Gods Kingdom! You told the story so beautifully! As a side note I still remember my childhood best friend’s phone number too! ☺️
Caroline, I am so very sorry. At times, throughout our lives people cross into our paths and leave an impact so profound some in a good way, some in a bad way. I do believe that we all have a purpose in life, and when that purpose in life has been fulfilled, we cross over to the other side. As devasting as it is, I have no doubts about this. All of those memories will never fade as your friend Linda and family were very precious as with other loved ones. So heart breaking but the experience has shaped you into the loving, sensitive, strong, independent woman you are today. Sending you hugs Caroline 🫂
I lost a very good friend in a car accident when she was only sixteen and although it is many , many years ago I can still feel the terrible loss of someone so young and vibrant with all her life ahead of her. Looking back I can see that that event shaped how I have lived the rest of my life , although terribly tragic it taught me that losing someone can happen at any age at any time. Treasure life , tell the people you love that you love them often and never leave a loved one on an argument . Thankyou Caroline for a lovely video - I did cry 😢- but it was worth it x
Such a lovely video I too had a friend called Linda who died from leukaemia she was 7 and we were just about to make our First Holy Communion so her mum buried her in her Holy Communion dress. So sad I am 51 and still remember her and her lovely mum. ❤
What a wonderful video,I'm in floods of tears because when you described Linda's mum were describing my mum who always looked after the children at school as a dinner lady, she always loved the children and they loved her lost mum now to dementia ❤ thank you for sharing xx
Hello Caroline 💗 What a beautiful and heartfelt video about your best friend Linda. Her spirit and joy truly shine through, and it's inspiring to see your friendship. The way you shared her story shows how special she is to you. Thank you for letting us get to know Linda through your eyes. Truly touching and uplifting. ❤xxx
What a wonderful story Caroline, the thing to remember is that all three of them live on through not just you but Ashley and Will as well and when life throws you a curveball remembering the strength that Linda’s parents showed could help pull you through those tough times as well. What a privilege it was to know the family and the profound impact that they had on you.
Caroline , just want to say , skimming the comments section , you have some lovely followers/subscribers of your Chanel who truly appreciate your content your honesty and sharing part of your life. Thank you for being you .
How very sad and lovely in equal measure. You were a wonderful friend to Linda & continued to be a wonderful friend to her parents. Rest in peace each one of them x

Beautiful tribute to 3 special people in your life. That’s was absolutely lovely to watch Caroline. You were lucky to have them touch your life, but equally you are special too and they were also blessed. 😘
I am sure you were such a comfort to Fred & Dot. Thank you for sharing. All we can hope for in life is that after we go we leave a little of us behind. Linda & her family succeeded in that ❤
Tears are streaming down my face, Caroline, what a touching tribute to your friend. They say everything happens for a reason, and I'm certain Linda chose you as a friend knowing the kind of special person you are. I'm sure she's looking down on you with love, seeing the immense comfort you've brought to her parents. xx
A beautiful tribute to a wonderful friendship with Linda and her family. So pleased you redid this video and thank you for sharing it. Take care Caroline
Caroline how did you get through that. It was heartbreaking. How any parent gets through losing a child has to be the hardest thing imaginable. They must have been so happy that you kept in touch all these years and your Mum is a very special lady to have marked Linda’s death by taking flowers every year ❤❤❤
What a wonderful, lovely, beautiful story!! They are in your memory, so they haven't been forgotten. We all have our season here on earth, short or long we leave an imprint of some kind with at least one person, you are theirs. Hold it close, it's always with you!❤❤
How very moving this video is, and what a lovely tribute to that lovely family that you cared for dearly. Like you said it’s keeping the memory alive. It’s obvious that you felt that this family were more to you than just friends, and we keep folk like that in our hearts forever. Big hugs Caroline xx
Thank you for sharing this story. It's unfortunate that loss is a part of life; it's so wonderful that you have these wonderful remembered moments of your time spent with this remarkable family. May they all rest in peace together.
I think this is the most beautiful and moving video I have ever watched on TH-cam. Everyone who watches it will identify in some way with your feelings and you expressed them so articulately. Thank you so much for sharing it with us ❤😢
Thanks for sharing your experience of grief.I lost my 8 yr. old granddaughter from sepsis 4 years ago , and was not allowed to see her until she died because of covid. I remember thinking how did I reach seventy without feeling such gut wrenching grief .Her little friend Faith had to go through it at 8 years old .

This was a video from the heart. A beautiful tribute to your friend which in itself would have been a huge traumatic event for you at just 16. Also a thank you to her parents who helped you come to terms with a tragic event but who in turn you also helped by in a small way keeping their daughters memory alive. Events like these are what form us as individuals, this was beautiful and very moving. Thank you
This is a lovely video Caroline, thanks for sharing it once more. You have a gift for storytelling, it’s not easy to do. Life is so precious, friendship is so precious, losing somebody close is so difficult and so sad. It’s good to remember good times and also to honour those we love and lose. It also reminds us of those who help us through tough times. This was a very moving story that will resonate with all of us 💕
Oh Caroline, I'm sat here with tears streaming down my cheeks (not helped by my dad's passing last month). What a beautiful tribute to your childhood best friend and to Linda's parents too. Thank you for sharing such a sweet & heartwarming memory. Friendships are to be cherished.
Caroline, you have just described my own childhood. I lost my best friend when she was just 151\2. Her name was Bernadette. We have just had her 43rd anniversary. All the sentiments that you expressed I echo. Things like that shouldn't happen in your formative years, I am always very envious of people who have lifelong friends. With that said, I'm very grateful to have been her friend and to still be in contact with her family also x
