So glad your test came back negative! Praying also that this virus ends soon and that you get to keep moving forward with your adoption🙏😊💗. My family and I are kinda doing the same as you...my husband is still working, I'm homeschooling my daughter, spending more time on filming & editing for my channel. I like you feel grateful for this "extra" time with family. We as a family have been making a point to use our time to draw closer to God and each other. We can already see so many positives coming out of a bad situation. God is good!
Hello! I started following you to learn more about fostering older children. You're one of the few families I found on TH-cam not fostering babies. My husband and I finished our 30 hours of class in February. We are working on our application but we already know the county has halted all home visits and CPR classes and fingerprints so everything is at a big pause. I'm glad y'all were able to go to Thailand and have that awesome trip. God was so faithful in keeping y'all safe. Thanks for sharing !
My husband and I are also in the process of becoming licensed to foster/adopt older children. Our home study packet was sent to the capital in February and now our process is completely halted. It sucks! 💜
I am so glad that you guys are all safe and healthy. These are truly crazy times, and it has been difficult coming to terms with all the changes and just everything new that is happening. I am so glad you related this experience we are having to the trauma that the children come around to our homes from Foster Care have experienced. I had not thought of that before, but it is definitely something I will be thinking about now.
Our adoption process is on hold right now also. I totally commiserate with your disappointed and frustration. Trying to hold on to God's promises too! 💜💜💜
I have been following your journey through adopting your children and now your China adoption! We are also under stay at home orders (I live in Canada) and there are lots of cases in our community so it’s very scary. My husband and I just completed our foster care certification on Friday (via FaceTime with the social worker) but she said we probably won’t get a placement until this is over. We are hoping to adopt through the foster care system eventually. Thanks for sharing your story, I will say a prayer that your baby in China can come home soon!

Winter, you are such an inspiration!
That's a powerful analogy about trauma and change!
