Shi Zhiyong owes a great respect to Liao Hui Bakk in 2010 Liao Hui was banned for 2 years because of doping violation then he Returned in a magnificent way confirming his Supremacy over Shi Zhiyong in the Chinese nationals in 2016 where he beat Shi Zhiyong to qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio And here come the politics: Because of his former doping ban the Chinese weightlifting federation decided Liao Hui not to be send to Rio They send instead 23yrs old Shi Zhiyong since his results were pretty close to that of the olympic champion from Beijing Liao Hui in Rio Shi Zhiyong won with a total of 352kg which gave him mUch recognition and mental power so the next year in the Chinese nationals in 2017 for the first time in his career Shi Zhiyong beat Liao Hui with a total of 358kg against 354 of Liao Hui, that day Shi Zhiyong made a significant performance and jerked 198 kg for a world record in 69 kg class Even after Shi Zhiyong gained 4 kg of muscles moving to 73 kg, he could not jerk more than this 198 kg
Are we talking about Shi not hitting more than 198? He set a 199 NR few weeks ago and has hit 205 in training a few times. Thanks for letting me know about the politics. I wondered why Liao didn’t go to Rio
Shi Zhiyong's growth curve is progressively increasing. Right now it seems like Liao Hui is stagnating because he's not in the shape he used to be in 2016.
@@alisherbaigazin407Shi seems super consistent though, and that's what gets gold. Even on Shi's worst days like Tokyo's short prep after a pulled hamstring, or the Asian championship in Tashkent that he spent out of breath for the majority of the competition, he can pull out world record weights.
Liao the greatest 69kg Chinese lifter, and now Shi will be greatest 73kg Chinese lifter. Two of China great pound for pound lifters.

It was only a year ago and he wasn't in very good shape.
his snatch is still near world record level he holds so i'm interested on seeing how he'll fair once he gets his leg strength back
liao hui do 205 like 2-6 weeks before this competition
the problem is shi too haha
Correct me if I'm wrong but Liao's 205 is prior to his retirement I think.
MrOldMajor 205 was pre comp. Liao max is 210kg
14:03 left arm
要是不是那”神打嗝“石智勇就有200KG的挺举记录了。
love two handsome guys ;)
Shi is the real deal, the goat, never defeated as professional lifter
he was defeated by liao on previous chinese nationals, peak liao was better than peak shi.

@@keion_arknightsyou sure? He struggled with 180kg recently
@@TsarNicholas2nd He's back from an over 2 years layoff, just getting a total for Olympic qualification. Should be fine.
Liao and Shi battle was so intense at this 2017 National
