This is the beginning song of the Recovery album which was after a kind of a hiatus for his drug problems. This is him being mad at the state of the rap while he was gone and all the people thinking he's gone "soft". You should listen to Going Through changes from the same album which is really emotional and candid and you can really see the contrast.

And since Michael J Fox was also (uncoincidentally) in a TV show called 'Spin City', there's little doubt this was an deliberate double or even a treble, to also pair with his Parkinson's condition (uncontrollable shaking) and the following line's 'earthquake' reference. It'd be too much of a coincidence for it not to be.

With Em it helps to listen to him knowing the context of what drives him. Rap started in small neighborhoods of ppl talking shit to each other but in rhyme and the craziest or well structured verse got applause. But then I think the threats against the Freedom of Speech by Congress when VP Cheney’s wife targeted him specifically. That’s around the time they started putting parental stickers on Hiphop music specifically. From that day forward Em has been challenging not only all the other rappers but the government and media.
So he will always say outrageous stuff but he’ll hit you with a motivation track and hopefully everyone will cheer that on because we can’t allow a government or someone else rule our speech and thought.
And in the Hiphop culture every once in a while some will call him a “guest” because ..well he’s white. So he has to deal with that too. And does a good job because most rappers respect him for what he does for the rap game.

Eminem's first line in that song is "God please would you arm me with the armor to calm me when there's drama" and he's literally rapping in a church and is seen praying. He is talking about Proof but it definitely has a ton of religious influence.
