Hi Christine, glad you are finding the videos helpful!! 🤗 Finding your USP goes hand-in-hand with finding your target audience. This is part of my paid content, as I find it really helps my clients get a clear understanding of this by working on it together in a 2-way conversation. It wouldn't be fair on my paying clients to offer this for free. I hope you understand. 😉 If you are interested in having a free chat to hear more about what I offer in the 1:1, feel free to send me a DM on Instagram @megancollins.co

Hiya Megan, Another great video, thank you, again. A lot of good information, and a lot to think through, I think this is another video I'll be watching a few times. Stay safe, Steve...
Thanks. This is a big help. I've been working on new jewelry and putting it on some sites but I need to really narrow down my buyer. Please keep making these videos. Love them.
Hi Kim, that's great!! I'm so happy to hear that! Yes, having a clear USP - Unique Selling Point would really help you to narrow down who your target audience is and make informed decisions as to which platforms would suit your jewelry best. More videos coming out every Sunday 😊
Thank you so much for the information. I learnt a lot from you. Would it possible for you to talk about starting out in jewelry or thinking of jewelry bussiness? For example, I'm not sure which are of jewelry making is suitable for me? I like to learn all, from looming with seed beads to working with metal and wiring. All are very interesting. But, if I could pick one to master at and eventually sell it, it's so overwhelming. Would really appreciate it if you could make a video on finding your best area and master at it 😘😍
Another great video! Watched it twice already, and now I think I should look into your one on one. I am stuck at the best place to buy the wire, solder, and all the very important things. I have gotten the tools, just finding a good wire place with a good background is hard.
Hi Kim, I'm so glad you found it helpful! I have space for 2 more 1:1s, so feel free to book in a free chat to hear more about it. And from there you can make your decision. 😉 If that sounds good to you, send me a DM me on Instagram and we can chat and find a good time @megancollins.co Megan 😊
I have been working on the beachy Boho style items. I have large hoop earrings made with coconut chips with Larimar, recycled glass beads, and freshwater pearls. Bracelets and similar necklaces on 2mm quality leather. I usually do metalsmithing silver pendants and rings with assorted gemstones. All that Boho vibe. (Turquoise.) My question is should I really being setting up so much of the lower price point items with the silver ones? I thought I was providing choices for all budgets, but I haven't even done a showing /market yet. Friends have purchased as fast as I make the items until recently, I stopped selling to accumulate an "inventory".... i am just wondering ....am I setting up a "garage sale " type offering like you stated? Should these two different styles...(cheaper handmade/ silver) be sold at different times? Or am I overthinking it???
Those are all good questions. It's hard for me to answer them here without having a two-way conversation to hear more. The decision needs to come from you, so I don't want to say definitively what you should do without knowing your future intentions. If you are interested in chatting more, feel free to send me a DM on Instagram. 😉
watched a few of your videos, all great stuff, Im a creator/3d modeller of many things, but recently turned toward bespoke keyrings and now starting down the jewellery path, what basic stock items do you suggest for small range of hand made items, ie, necklaces and earing's, do you have some basic items always at hand, ie, chain, jump rings, clasps etc, or is everything planned up front so items are very specific, thanks :)
Hiya, so cool that you are heading into the jewellery space :) In terms of basic items its really hard to say as there are so many different sizes of everything like clasps and chains so if I were you I would come up with a design, then go to your local supplier and see what would work best. Over time you'll start building a good knowledge of things you use often.
@@megan.collins much appreciate your reply :) and yes, i guess thats it, i do tend to make it up as i go, so when i finish 1 peice i will search for a suitable chain that fits, as i get more experienced things will no doubt change, especially the process :)
That is a very good question. I would keep the same target audience throughout collections. The reason for this would be to keep a clear and consistent brand overall that customers can fall in love with. Imagine for example that a singer brought out a completely different album with a completely different style of music each time, they would then lose all their previous fans each time, making it so much harder to grow your brand. 😉

Insightful. Does the target audience always stay the same, or can it shift between collections?
