What if i want to add some darker brown to my roots as well? Like a color melted root (not shadow root) would i need to do that after this toning session or before?
You saved my hair it looks amazing better than at the salon!!! Paid $300 for crap job came home and started the whole process myself,, did highlights, except I have longer hair so I did 1 t18 and 2 of t11 only left on for 5 minutes and I’m obsessed 😍 thank u so much
THIS is EXACTLY what I needed to see!! I absolutely DO NOT want to lighten my base/root color, I simply want to tone the slightly reddish/yellow tones I have after highlighting my hair. I'm so glad I didn't use that 20 volume that the Wella toners call for! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
@Kathryn Frost Actually, you can use 10-volume developer and diluting it with 40% tap water which is the same as 6% volume. I am NOT a hairdresser, I got this information online, but you can also use full-body conditioner instead of water for a thicker consistency. The reason I specified full body conditioner is because you don't want all the ingredients that are in moisturizing type conditioners to interfere with the developer doing its job. You can Google this process online for better understanding. Good luck!
@Sandee King I am so sorry for not responding sooner, I just now saw your reply. My hair came out perfect! Thank you! thanks for solving my problem! I didn't want to lift my virgin hair with the developer. Had that problem before. But I didn't even THINK to get a different brand's 6 volume. What a great idea! I am going to do this! Thanks so much!

WOW! Thank you so much for your comment! I really appreciate that! I'm so glad you're so happy with your hair & it came out good! Makes me happy! & you're so very welcome!
It wont darken your roots, it'll lighten your roots, thats why I said use the 6 volume (non lifting developer) because you will lift the hair thats dark, resulting in more orangeness 😣
@@cheyennex3917I use 10v on and it doesn’t lighten my darker areas. I guess it depends how dark? I also go back in and do a root melt so maybe that helps. But I would never use anything higher

I use to be blonde and finally changed it a few months ago to Deep Auburn Red and I am loving it. I always thought I would be blonde and never change it but here I am with red hair lol. Great video.
Where do i find a 6% volume developer? My Sally’s said they only have 10% and higher. I can’t find any on Amazon and read the lowest they make is 10%, but you have a 6%. Where do I find this gem? Can I use a 10% wo messing up my roots? Thanks so much! You are a huge help! 😊
Hey luv, 10 would be ok if that's your last resort, it deposits but it DOES slowly lift (just slightly) over time.. so if you use a 10 just keep an eye on it! I myself don't like the stress of causing any unnecessary brass, haha. I found this on amazon: "Wella Color Tango Developer 6 Volume - 2oz" .. hope this helps! xO.
You're sooo welcome luv! I'm glad it turned out for you! The pandemic set me back & I haven't been active on here at all, but I plan on coming back REALLY soon! With more hair tips! hehe..thanks for coming back & letting me know how it worked out for you! xO. Stay safe! :)
Your hair turned out amazing! I was going to tone my hair today with t11 and t18 and 20 volume developer but after watching this video im gonna wait and buy the developer you got! I have my ashy dark blonde roots and some of that throughout my hair I dont want that to turn brassy thank you!!
YES!!! If you dont want your base color affected by the lifting developer, PLEASE use the 6% and have a wet washcloth available to do a swatch test after about 3 minutes to see if thats the level of tone you want, another cheap alternative for after care that I do truly love is the shimmer lights shampoo and conditioner, there are none licensed girls who say it sucks, but I doubt they read the back! Read the back, it needs to sit on the hair for about 7-8mins I believe it says, so like shave etc. while letting it sit..rinse then use the conditoner, I myself LOVE it! It helps with keeping it nice and toned, & before re-highlighting you can always tone again using the 6 volume to refresh :D
Did your roots lift at all? I highlighted my level 2 hair and it is at a good level 9/10 after, and i need to tone it badly but I’m scared the toner will lift! I am using the same wella toners and 10v developer
No babe they didn't, you need to purchase a 6% peroxide developer (its deposit only & of course a toner) and it won't touch your base color only what's highlighted. Everyone's hair is different, so keep an eye on it. Use a wet washcloth to wipe off some developer from a highlighted piece and see if its the tone you're looking for. KEEP AN EYE ON IT! Very important. Then rinse out! Have fun babe! Hope this helps!
YOU FINALLY answered my question. Of all the videos I have watched you answered whether or not to use developer if I have brown hair as well. So the demi permanent will be the way to go? I hope so.
Aww that makes me so happy!! Im glad to have answered your question, hehe...YES!! Use the 6% developer, and leave on for no longer than 5mins or just eye it! & it won't lighten your natural hair color, it'll only deposit color, not lift!
I am licensed myself and ended up with yorange highlights due to going to different stylist during the pandemic. I tried this fix last night and it totally works!!!!! Thanks for sharing this 🙂
You are gorgeous! Your hair turned out amazing. I just toned mine with a T-28 and I was so scared and only left on 6 minutes. Next time. I’ll wait longer. Great tips! Thank you!

Thank you Sandee for this video. Subscribed. Amazing and clear instructions. Anyone from the UK can tell me what developer should I get? I can’t find the one from the video and I want to make sure I buy the correct one. I found a Wella colour touch developer 6 volume, 1.9% . That should be ok right? X
WOOOT WOOOT!! THANK YOU!!! lol..I don't need ANYONE frying my hair! People can be careless..I got a chemical cut from a stylist..she bleached my waist length hair! It ended up to my shoulders! It just kept getting shorter and shorter! It finally grew back after 6years!!
I would def recommend adding a litte more T18 then the T11..If your fully blonde and have no natural color on your roots, I would recommend 20volume peroxide, because it'll lift as it tones & leave it on for about 10-15mins even 20 if its REALLY orange..but remember to keep EYEING it! wipe off some with water and a towel, everyone's hair processes differently :)
Hi when you apply that no need bleaching? I hope you respond me i need your help please...how many minutes before you rinse water your hair after you put t11 and t14?

Very pretty! I have never used Wella. I use Schwarzkopf Professional to double process my hair. I am sooo overdue to do mine, but I am trying to work out filming it bc it's been requested a lot. I guess a LOT of people want to bleach and tone their hair.😊🌻😁🌻🌺
Yea! It took me a long time to do my hair because I knew that the next time I did my hair I wanted to film it! It's actually pretty easy, I just used a flexible tri pod that bends and hooked it to my bathroom mirror 😀If that's what your viewers want then you should def. film it! Id love to see it also! 😀💕
@@sandeeking4488 Thanks! I actually do my hair in my kitchen rather than the bathroom bc my kitchen is huge and I have white barstools (lol that I cover in plastic) I use as hair dressing chairs that are super comfortable to sit in. I have a lot of details both for application, safety and and I how I decide my ratios ect (I figure if I'm going to do it finally I want to make it a good one lol.) I have a gooseneck clamp that's good for filming the counter with products and mixing, it's just getting an extra mirror now bc I won't be able to use the one on my ring light (I'll be explaining that in the video too) and a few other things. Now just to see if I have enough time to both film AND do my hair this week or if I need to film it in 8 weeks. The bottom is a medium/dark brown hair. When I was little it looked black..I only mess with my "crown" when I do my hair. The bottom portion is virgin and healthy that way 😀
I left mine on for about 5mins…watch your hair, if the blonde starts to look purple, wash your hair. If it stains it a purple tinge (if you accidentally leave it on too long) it’ll be washed out in a wash or 2. Basically wash it off when it becomes the tone you’re looking for. Don’t keep it on longer than 8mins I would say because the blonde is very porous after bleaching. The toner isn’t damaging because you’re depositing color with such a low developer %. If you have anymore questions, feel free to reach out luv ☺️
Love your video. I was wondering if anyone had an idea as to what toner to use for honey highlights. My highlights has some gold in it. I want to get rid of some of the orange.
Quick question-Do I need to bleach my hair again? Or can I add to previously highlighted hair (like 2 months ago). I just want to add a bit of color and remove the orange.
I like your hair my dream hair..my hair color now is golden ash blond mixed lightest ash blond...but im not achieve what i like..then i saw your video can i change same yours? Not need to bleaching again?..you so very beautiful plus beautiful hair i hope i got this color its my dream..thank you for this video..
Awww thanks babe! I got my cosmetology license here, I’m originally from Philly but since I was a kid I wanted to move here, I feel like it’s where I was meant to be 😁💕
This looks just great. Fabulous. Only one thing: I don't understand for the developer. You use 20vol. Some use 6 vol. This is my problem. The developer. I don't get it. How and why do we chose 20vol or 6vol? Can you tell me?
I just learned about this over on one of Brad Mondo's videos. The 6 vol developer (or even 10) does not lighten your hair, so if you already have the level of lightening you want, but just need to tone it b/c of brassiness, the 6 or 10 is what you want. I think that's basically what she was saying also. Her hair was already highlighted and light and she didn't want to lighten her dark areas, so the lower number developer achieves that.
TOTALLY CORRECT!!! 👍🏼👌🏼 If you scroll through my comments you’ll see I’ve told tons of women this haha.. Yes! 6 or 10.. I’d def do a 6% though, that’s my opinion.. because 10 is “deposit only” but it can also eventually start lifting, slowly of course... with any of this, keep an eye on it for your desired tone (use wet washcloth & wipe a small stand to see)💕
Elizabeth McGiveney it’ll last awhile, I’d say like 5 weeks it won’t ever take it back to its original brassiness but the hue of the toner will def fade, you can always buy some shimmer lights shampoo & conditioner in between toning! Leave the shampoo on for 5 mins then rinse, & follow up with the conditioner! 🤗💕
Sandee King Hi! I'm waiting on my toner in the mail. My Sally's is closed due to Corona virus. I'm curious how long the toner lasts when I wash my hair 3-4 times a week? Also, do you wash your hair with a purple or blue shampoo in between toning, about once a week? Thank you 😊
Hey luv! Im so very sorry I didnt see this til now! I havent been on here because of everything going on, been enjoying my family time. Did you end up toning it?
Hello, I’m currently a dirty blonde rn. I want to achieve your platinum blonde, do I have to bleach my hair again or can I just use those toner in the video for that?
Hi, what color did you put on originally? I’ve got natural blonde/grey hair and I’m wondering if I do an 8A all over color, what my results would be with the T11?
Im so soo late to comment but ur vid is nice & easily explained. Only thing is 6 vol is sooo not 6% its more like 1.9% lol i do hair and that makes a difference from deposit only to lift! Anyway u have really nice hair! Keep up the good work.
Hi gorgeous! I have a bayage with 70percen bleached but the tone is originally kinda yellow(i mean the color of the bayage) and I would like it to be blonder, the question here is if this could work to me too?
hello! i appreciate this video so much! i have black asian hair and got my balayage done professionally but the tone is too yellow (slightly orangey) for me 😭 I’m looking for a true chesnut brown tone… would the T11 be better for what I’m wanting than T18? I don’t want it too ashy, more beige

love it 😍 , i'm thinking of ordering these two colors.
Would you say the results were more of a beige or ash blonde?
Omg my hair looks like that I’m taking your advice thanks a lot :)
Love your video. I was wondering if anyone had an idea as to what toner to use for honey highlights. My highlights has some gold in it. I want to get rid of some of the orange.
Use Wella T11 ☺️
@@sandeeking4488 Thank you so much😊
Quick question-Do I need to bleach my hair again? Or can I add to previously highlighted hair (like 2 months ago).
I just want to add a bit of color and remove the orange.
Hair goals! ❤❤❤
You're such a doll! Thank you so much!! 🤗💕💕
@@sandeeking4488 ❤🥰
I am wanting to try this on my daughters hair. It has blonde highlights, but the summer sun and fried it. Im afraid to try.

Awww thanks babe! I got my cosmetology license here, I’m originally from Philly but since I was a kid I wanted to move here, I feel like it’s where I was meant to be 😁💕
I’m going to try this!!
Awesome!! Let me know how it goes! ☺️💕💕
Is it ok to get toner in the brown of the hair? Will it affect the non highlighted hair?
Not if you use 6% developer, it’s deposit only..I wouldn’t recommend leaving it on for over 8mins
Nice one
Love this
you’re so pretty and awesome
thanks
Yes! 6 or 10.. I’d def do a 6% though, that’s my opinion.. because 10 is “deposit only” but it can also eventually start lifting, slowly of course... with any of this, keep an eye on it for your desired tone (use wet washcloth & wipe a small stand to see)💕
How long does the toner typically last in your hair?
Elizabeth McGiveney it’ll last awhile, I’d say like 5 weeks it won’t ever take it back to its original brassiness but the hue of the toner will def fade, you can always buy some shimmer lights shampoo & conditioner in between toning! Leave the shampoo on for 5 mins then rinse, & follow up with the conditioner! 🤗💕
New subscriber! This is exactly what I want. Going to Sally's tomorrow ❤️
Thank you Wendy!! Let me know how it goes!
Sandee King I will 😉
Sandee King Hi! I'm waiting on my toner in the mail. My Sally's is closed due to Corona virus. I'm curious how long the toner lasts when I wash my hair 3-4 times a week? Also, do you wash your hair with a purple or blue shampoo in between toning, about once a week? Thank you 😊
Did you do this right after washing out the highlight color?
Yes 😁 I washed out the bleach with shampoo & then squeezed out the excess water then applied the toner ☺️
Love this!!
Thanks Anna!! ☺️💕 xO.
Sandee king my hair is like orange yellow. Do you think the the t18 and t11 will tone it out?
Hey luv! Im so very sorry I didnt see this til now! I havent been on here because of everything going on, been enjoying my family time. Did you end up toning it?
@@sandeeking4488 yes. I finally tone it. It turn out a nice blonde color. I end up using t18. Thanks for messaging back. Stay safe.
Hello, I’m currently a dirty blonde rn. I want to achieve your platinum blonde, do I have to bleach my hair again or can I just use those toner in the video for that?
Wow your hair looks very pretty i like the color😘💖
Thanks girl! 😁💕💕
what about using 20 vol developer for when you do the actual highlights? is that okay?
Yes!! I use 20 on the top and one side and then 30 volume on the other side of my head..just so it catches up with everything else :D
I have a mix of blonde and brown hair. Will using 10 vol room my dark parts?? Need to dye it by Friday so I don’t think I can order the 6 vol :(
Did you end up doing your hair luv? Im so sorry Im just seeing this now! I havent been on here because of everything going on
Hey new friend here. Great video. Love your hair. ❤💯
Lady T's family values thanks girl! 😄💕💕
I always use wella toners.. they always deliver! Looks great! Much love from pusa studios
Hi, what color did you put on originally? I’ve got natural blonde/grey hair and I’m wondering if I do an 8A all over color, what my results would be with the T11?
wow the after ♥_♥
Thanks luv!
Im so soo late to comment but ur vid is nice & easily explained. Only thing is 6 vol is sooo not 6% its more like 1.9% lol i do hair and that makes a difference from deposit only to lift! Anyway u have really nice hair! Keep up the good work.
Love it ❣
❤ love it. Thanks.
Wow

Thank you for the video!💕
Muy hermoso!!!!!!!!! 👍😄
Hi gorgeous! I have a bayage with 70percen bleached but the tone is originally kinda yellow(i mean the color of the bayage) and I would like it to be blonder, the question here is if this could work to me too?
hello! i appreciate this video so much! i have black asian hair and got my balayage done professionally but the tone is too yellow (slightly orangey) for me 😭
I’m looking for a true chesnut brown tone… would the T11 be better for what I’m wanting than T18? I don’t want it too ashy, more beige
