I feel like because of their history working together and in the same environment they almost kind of have this father/daughter dynamic and it's really sweet. She just obviously looks up to him and he seems so proud of her and what's she done and who she's become.

You can see the admiration she has for Conan in the way she looks at him and allows him to speak; interested in what he has to say. She inspires me so much- especially seeing her here! None is more of a facade than any other. People frequently reflect the energy they are given or contrast of being given no energy or too much energy from the person they are interacting with.
Returning to this video years later, it plays like a prototype of Conan’s podcast! So happy he gets to be more like this nowadays, even if we don’t see him regularly on TBS anymore.

Conan is 100% right. My dad is Mexican, and my mom is Irish. Two VERY well known catholic countries, and I grew up just as he did. SUPER catholic, and had a very hard time growing up due to thinking everything I was doing was wrong. To this day I still tip toe around them specially more with my mom. I see my self as a believer in god, and not necessarily a religious person. I pray, and all but to my mom that’s still not enough. It’s a difficult way to grow up...

Atiya Uthmani She actually found out that The Mindy Project was greenlighted by FOX the same day her mother died. Then, 6 years later, she found out that she was pregnant on the last day of shooting the finale of Season 6.
Fun fact: They grew up in the same area. Conan is from Brookline and Mindy is from Cambridge. Those cities are about twenty minutes away from each other.
I know they have rehearsals before the actual show. And I’m not sure if they work on the next day’s show after the tapings. They need to feel like they’re putting out their best every show. And despite how they’re feeling they have to go to work, do their job that no one else can, and out on their tv face.

The best seasons of The Simpsons were 4 and 5, which happened to be when Conan was writing for them. So he definitely brought something great to that writing team

This was so much more inspiring than I thought it'd be. I'm in a college sketch troupe. I'm also a Christian, the only Christian in the group. What @teamcoco said about getting lost in the comedy and doing something out of your religious norm is so true. It's fun for the time being but a little scary once you take a step back. What I love about Conan is that as pushing the boundaries as he gets, he still stays relatively tame. Truly inspiring for a young comedy-nerd/redhead like me.
Pretty much sucks that you blanked out what he said, right when he was making a point about "being out in the world." An uncensored world is a better place, even with the rough spots.
I wish Mindy could have seen how beautiful she was through my eyes and so many other fans before feeling like she had to have collagen injections (this is after this interview) which personally, does not look good. It's the vicious Hollywood machine that makes women feel like they don't fit the "perfect" look that is the real toxic entity alive today. Long after all the sexual predators are dispatched from tinsel town the strong women remaining will still be scared by the needless plastic surgery and injected puffy faces, hoping to land that next part because they look "younger" and "fresh". There was nothing wrong with how Mindy looked before, her body was representative of what American women look like currently and her face was beautiful. We as men shouldn't have to feel guilty for telling women how great they look as long as it's done with dignity and respect. It's not your bodies or faces that need to change, it's the system that makes you believe that there is something wrong with you that does.
i love the video and conversation. what i dont like is that the are audio bits that are silent. one moment even ruined a joke for me. it was at 8:06 - 8:10. what really makes me upset is that mindy lurches forward in laughter. the moments may be few and short, but i want to listen to the conversation so much that something usually insignificant was a big deal.
Audio problems drove me away. What a shame since these are two incredibly talented and intelligent writers and I would have loved to hear them in great detail. :(
