    Conan really isnt lying when he says Jordan is 90% real and 10% show.
    The extra 10% he replaces with show is usually reserved for his caring and genuine trust. When you listen to him, he really is a true friend.

      Watching the podcast, you can tell Conan builds close teams where they are all friends. No matter how they're depicted in a comedy skit, it's safe to assume they're great people IRL because that's the kind of people Conan likes to be around and have on his payroll.

  • @h3artands0uLL
    @h3artands0uLL ปีที่แล้ว +170

    Jordan is a class act. Notice how he doesn’t take the bait (good hearted as it might be) to diss Conan when he is not even present. He refrains from edifying what she is saying when she throws jabs, plus when he says direct things like “you would do this for a child” he is careful to add “I’m not saying ONLY for a child.”
    As much as he and Conan have this humorous frenemy relationship, you can tell he is still protective of him and is overall just a polite guy. (also evident by his cultural awareness in Japan)

      @@h3artands0uLL his overall tone is derogatory towards Conan. From the onset talking about how he might be respected by intellectuals BUT in actuality he doesn’t deserve it because Conan’s palate isn’t as sophisticated enough so he has to taste Conan’s food for him so he doesn’t embarrass himself or dishonor the Japanese chefs. The inference is there from the beginning that Conan is childlike simply because of the “safe” foods he likes. Which of course differs from Jordan’s overtly bougie tastes. Just because he doesn’t come right out and say anything doesn’t at all mean that he isn’t being insulting. Being strategically defensive so as not to directly say ONLY a child makes no difference , and doesn’t mean he took the high ground.

    I was so happy to find two episodes with Jordan Schlansly on Conan Inside podcast. One is about 🇮🇹 and the other about 🇯🇵 (this clip is a part of it). Already listened the episodes a few times. I mean it’s always fun to see/hear Conan going after Jordan. However, Jordan is very well spoken and interesting to listen. I hope, at least, they will invite him for Conan Inside.

    Oh my god Conan has the EXACT same palate as me. If we were going to have sushi, I'd be like "great, do they have salmon sashimi?" And when Jordan said he had to go hunting for something for Conan to eat, I was like "don't say tonkatsu, don't say tonkatsu", and like I heard the words before he said them. Damn it, that's exactly my safe food when I'm in Japan!

    It's weird that as time goes by I become a bigger and bigger Jordan fan. He's really becoming interesting the more they let him talk.
    I'm liking him talking more... He really is actually intelligent. I mean I always suspected but now I'm positive lol. And usually I take his side when him and Conan are "butting heads". I just like his logical perspective.
    And maybe he is a little bit like a Vulcan. Maybe Conan was right about that... It's kind of a compliment. Being in control of your emotions and thinking logically.

      Typically they have bullet points they are trying to get to and to wrap it up on a certain note. With Jordan they could talk for an hour on a tangent before the questions even start and never get anywhere. As someone who is generally more interested in the nuts and bolts of how the show is made than just listening to meandering nonsense for an hour, I appreciate the interruptions. But then, Im in the minority of people who skip over the Conan/Matt/Sona banter segments when I listen to CONAF because at this point its more annoying than fun. Its also important to note that this podcast specifically is about people who have worked together, mostly for over 20 years, and they are bringing some of that dynamic to their conversations.

    Jordan actually hit it on the nail with his comment about salmon.
    Salmon is considered the most popular sushi amongst children. LOL. It's second only to maguro (tuna), but only because everyone's go-to favorite sushi answer is always some sort of tuna.

    My husband and I are both picky eaters in different ways, so what Jordan described with the sushi is very much like what my husband and I do for each other to not be rude in a fancy place. We know exactly what each other like and don't like, and can try things for each other if we suspect the other of us might not like it. So my first thought was that Jordan and Conan are like a couple 😂
