I just bought the pdf based on your last video that I watched earlier today. This video makes me know I'm going to love it. Hard cover is in the amazon cart! In this video as I listened I really loved what I was hearing because as an older dude that's been playing since the early 80's it sounded like the game I've been waiting for. I loved everything I heard and read about Shadow Dark but it was way to over priced for pocket. From what I know so far this game probably suits me better any way and I love the price! I'm a Whitebox fan and am interested to see how it compares. Good vid, thanks.
Well I didn't write it so I can only assume the reason for it...and you know what they say about assuming. 😆 To my understanding it was to be more of a catch-all term for characters that aren't a traditional "Thief". That being said you could call it whatever you want. It's a little strange even for me as nearly every time I'm describing the classes I'm like... "Cleric, Fighter, Wizard and Expert... which is like a Thief/Rogue/Con Man and so on."
Use whatever name you want - he actually says i the introduction to book to take the game and change it, mix and match things, even rename things. The reason this name was chosen was explain in the video - it's a role-playing game 'All Rounder'. That said if this is your hill to die about whether to play this game or not then I think you need to re-think your priorities in the hobby. It's really petty to argue about. If you want Rogue or Scoundrel as the name in your own game, then YOU use those name if you want to. Damien the author tells you you can do so with these rules.

works the sane wat is shadow of the demon lord
I haven't read that one... been meaning to.
I really don't like the term "Expert", just takes me right out of the genre. What is wrong with Rogue, or Scoundrel ?
