Grassy Narrows First Nation sues Ontario, Canadian governments over alleged mercury poisoning

- Grassy Narrows First Nation filed a lawsuit against the Ontario provincial and Canadian federal governments on Tuesday.
The Nation, located about 90 kilometres Northwest of Dryden, Ont., is seeking justice for their claims of mercury poisoning in nearby river systems.
"Our people continue to eat the fish that's in the river. We keep hoping that one day the river will be cleaned up," Grassy Narrows Chief Rudy Turtle said.

Every person in Canada deserves the assistance of the govt when necessary ...these people at Grassy Narrows have been waiting patiently for years and years..but are now forced to use legal means just to get clean drinking water...How is this happening still??
Canada needs the govy to address our problems here, not save the 8 billion ppl of the entire earth.
Yes they are total hypocrites even the WE scandal that "charity" that was paying Trudeaus wife and Mother half a million as celebrity speakers meanwhile the PM wasn't building more homes in Canada we are supposed to get more excited to donate to build them in Africa? They go on and on about the environment too but the Fairy Creek forests were not saved either and some don't even have clean drinking water. Look how Flint Michigan was also lead poisoned I don't think anyone was even fired though they admitted they knew the pipes needed replacing. So American and their EPA are disgusting too.
Sadly, this isn't just a Grassy Narrows problem, our tap water isn't safe to drink anywhere in the province of Ontario, they've found the same heavy metals in Huron-Perth and I know Middlesex is just as bad too, we all need to be concerned about this, day zero isn't a joke, it's here.

When people sue governments they are suing "we the people" (aka: taxpayers). Let that sink in.

Environmental racism is a problem that persists throughout Canada to this day.

The govt allowed the mercury industrial pollution ,perhaps a backhander. Killimg off owners of the stolen land?
It no longer exists
To sue isnt about justice. Its about MONEY!
At this point for the pain and suffering, money is owed. Healthcare isn't cheap, and the issues they deal health wise would be a lot less without the mercury poisoning
