One of my realistic dream cars. luxury, performance, and reliability
What luxury?
@@sekcgamer7623what you mean “what”.It is nice looking Lexus that is why luxury.
@@sekcgamer7623you look like a picky person
@miyukishirogane9579 when you're dropping tens of thousands on a vehicle you have to be picky. I would get a 350 pre owned after 3-5 years. Makes no sense to get one new over the European cars and arguably Acura.
@@CentinalxGaming ho yes those European car that cost $100k and that can’t pass the 90k miles
This is my 3 rd is and never been disappointed , very good car. Awd in the snow is crazy.
I love those old school volume wheels Lexus puts in all their cars, much better than a touch button volume slider
That's what Lexus is all about, honest, old school, reliable, easy to use luxury. It may be ancient compared to a BMW 3 series or a C-Class Mercedes, but these new BMWs and Mercedes absolutely overwhelm you with excessive technology, and it comes at a cost of price and long term reliability, the IS is just an honest luxury sedan it prioritizes reliability and simplicity.
for 61k, you might as well get a base IS500
you’ll walk out the dealership paying well over that
Might as well not get a pos overpriced Lexus 😂😂
@@princeali8977 if imma over paying for either, why not walk with the 500
@@JJdaSamuRai try looking in a mirror next time
agreed but all the is500 actually showing up on dealer lots are max spec $67k with the bbs wheels
I still love this IS 350. The quality, the durability, the user friendly buttons and controls, and that amazing Toyota 3.5L N/A V6 sounds glorious. Yes it is old, and yes it still uses a 6-speed automatic, but this is a proven design that is designed to last forever in typical Toyota fashion. Good resale value and best in class reliability 👍👍
The AWD Camry is probably a better option. This would get walked by a 330i, A4 & sorts.
@@layne4376but drake ruined the Toyota Camry image
@@NS416if you think people buy Lexus for speed you’re an extremely slow learner
@@randoms71 For a car that cost that much, speed is still important. These are piss slow, expecially with modern german cars being very reliable. Might as well get a G70 3.3 even, lol.
@@NS416 it isn’t as important tho with the people in the market for a Lexus. But you lost me at german and reliable. Resale value alone is enough to justify the cost. Something no euro manufacturer can compete with. Obviously Lexus ain’t for you no need to be mad about a superior make in terms of durability
the IS 350 came out in 2006. This one is specced soooo well, this is exactly how I'd get it. Love the review
I got my 2021 slightly used, and love it. I have the same interior color, it’s a nice combo. Love the styling they brought to this generation.
I love the looks over my 17’ is350 F sport RWD, but I had little seat time in a 23’ and they feel about the same to me. Love these cars
By far the best video I've seen to date; very simple but well done and enjoyed riding with you through the video. Made me giddy watching you go around around the corner onto the highway doing 60! I think I'm set on getting rid of my new Highlander and get myself this IS 350 F-Sport next year ;)
Terrible video 😂
@@EugeneLopez-tp5hb??
For 61k you can get a M340i, TLX TypeS, S4 or even a base IS500
I'd rather get a type S. Same level of reliability and comfort
@@pinkisforpimpsthe Type S understeers like crazy, which is just outright boring. Also the turbo dies off at higher RPM and I didn’t like that on high speed pulls. I’d get the IS500 for my money. Or a manual Supra if you don’t need 4 seats. Or if you want to go used - a 10 year old GT-R or 911.
Or a G70 3.3T AWD and just pocket the $5K
type s over a M340i?!@@pinkisforpimps
Problem with everyone that drives an Acura, specially the type-s, is that they let of the gas while taking a corner. Don't let off the gas when taking a corner, that's where the type s shines. The SH-AWD is made to make the car push through corners like crazy, but if you let off the gas and try to turn it will understeer. That's the advantage the Type-S has compared to anything else such as g70, m340i, s4 ... Those cars if you push them though the corner they will start to either lose control or kick the rear while the type s will just push through. As for the turbo, the type-s isn't made to do straight line pulls, it's made to take corners and get out of them (canyon runs for example) so the turbo work better on lower rpm to push the car easily. People don't understand that the type s variants are daily/track ready cars, not just ''dailys'' or straight line.@@bosef1394
Can't wait to get a 2024 RWD IS350! Yes you can get faster options in that price range, but the engineering that Lexus put into place to achieve a sporty, reliable and refined daily driver vehicle is what is making it an easy choice. It will hopefully be an excellent combo next to my Miata!
Are Dey fast fast tho?
You will not regret it! I purchased my IS with the spec in the video (though mine is black/black) over a year ago now and love it.
You won’t be disappointed with the 2024 IS 350. I just picked up the AWD version, still pretty quick, but not as fast as my Supra. The Lexus feels very solid, and handles really well. I prefer it as a daily “fun” driver over the Supra. Cheers and enjoy!
Thanks for another informative, engaging review. I agree with you on the excellent build and materials quality on last-generation Lexii. I have a '22 RX350L, and appreciate the interior's ergonomics and quality each time I drive. I'd like to see you review an ES, though it is front wheel drive. Live long and prosper.
To the ones here comparing this with the IS 500, you're right when comparing it by price, but if you need a daily driver and want the luxuries and reliabilty, and just so happen to live in the north where you get Snow in the winter, the 350 AWD is a way more usable and sensible car for the average person to own.
a tlx type s would cost less though
@@unknowncode5566and if you live in snow states you have to budget for winter tires and wheels in the purchase because the Acura only comes on summer rubber. The Acura is also kinda pokey for where it wants to play. Way too much tech that doesn’t work well together too. The Acura is a nice car but it’s really an oddball.
yes but you'd get more power and budget winter tires for a bit less than the ancient IS (assuming no dealer markups) . Then again I haven't driven either so I wouldn't know honestly@@MillerVanDotTV
Funny i was talking about the cruise control stalk last week. it’s so simple and perfect.
love the is350. still driving the 2006 lexus is350. a little beat up but still runs like a champ!
I have the 22 F Sport and absolutely love it!
The way you review these cars is great.
Really like the simplicity and function of the interior layout
I bought a 2015 IS350 F SPORT. In 2021 with 42,500 for $34,000. Pristine condition" and I absolutely love the car through and through. From what I saw in this video I wouldn't lose any sleep over their differences. In a perfect world I would love to check out an IS500 some day.
I like the bonus footage at the end.
With the windows rolled up, the loudest thing I would hear is the fan from the ventilation seat. Ride is smooth as butter, just a bit of sportiness to remind you this is a sporty sedan.
I love the IS. My 2011 IS250 just hit 142.000 kilometers and it drives like new. So sad this generation of IS will never come to Europe :(
I drove one the other day. I couldn't get past that hump in the transmission tunnel hitting my calf. Also, I didn't feel it was as quick as a car like it should be. Loved the way it drove, though.
I didn’t even notice the hump until the second day i had it. Then I find myself occasionally hitting it with my leg when I stretch my legs after driving for a while
RWD models don’t have that hump, plus are cheaper, lighter and get better mpg.
@@kgisabeastno one buying this kind of car should have MPG near the top of their list. It's a luxury sport car.
@@MuffinMan0521no even sport :/
i got a 2021 IS350 RWD with 8 speed, feels quicker than the AWD one i test drove. I think they would be near perfect with more power. Was looking at a used IS500, but wasn't down for how much the insurance would be
The IS350 is an older design now, but even when I worked at Lexus this was my favourite car of their lineup. The 3.5L V6 doesn't make power until you rev it out but it sounds great and the chassis begs to be pushed. Ditto that AWD system - it actually is a permanent torque split that almost is like a WRX, which is excellent for winters.
I just want the v6 and lovely sound system. I think it’s the best sound system in any car under 100k. Prop to Lexus for making the car even more beautiful.
There’s a reason why great mechanics love Toyota/Lexus. These are quality machines. It’s not about the tech/performance. These are purpose built for lasting and everything feels high quality.
Another awesome video!!
Lexus has perfected interiors, there's something about them from LC500 to LFA to this, there's just no fat in the design and its elegant and simple but just so perfect somehow
I’d argue Lexus has the MOST dated interiors of any luxury car brand rn. They seriously need to update the centre console and controls for hvac/radio/cd/playback. I hate where manufacturers are going buttonless/dialess but Lexus is waaay too behind.
@@poopsie117I think the screen really needs to be molded into the dash rather than just sticking on top lol
@@poopsie117AAAAGGGGGGHHHH I NEED MORE SCREENS TO DISPLAY SUBWAY SURFERS TO KEEP ME FOCUSED AND ENGAGED WHILE DRIVING
@@poopsie117AAAAAGGGGHHHH I NEED TO HAVE NO PHYSICAL BUTTONS IN MY CAR FOR THE SAKE OF FUTURISM AND “MODERNITY”
It's literally a slightly less luxurious previous gen BMW interior. That's not a bad thing, in fact it's very good imho. Perfect blend of screens and physical buttons/knobs.
Edit: the problem is though that those BMW interiors I mentioned came in significantly less expensive cars. This is priced like an M2 was, and the M2 interior was significantly better. Note I'm talking about previous gen M2 not the new BMW garbage.
Good quality all around. It's just really starting to show its age at this point
That steering wheel is amazing
I have the refreshed 2021 model and have to say…yes it could be faster with the 3.5L V6. If they made 350hp to match the model name with about 300tq, would be the perfect daily driver. But since no car out there is perfect this is as close as it gets in terms of bullet proof quality built, reliable and great resale value for years to come. I’m happy with my purchase to this day and it gets me where I need to go in style and with moderate performance for daily driving around the city and highway. I have the white with the circuit red interior and always have a smile on my face whenever I get in and out of it. No regrets! IS500 is amazing but not the best choice for Canadian winters here, otherwise would have jumped on that model instead. Great review/commentary Topher!
Are you ready for winter with it? I live in Denver, and im a bit nervous even with the AWD system. Any tips?
@venictos I've had my 2016 IS300 AWD for about a year, and it's been on all season tires. It's been incredible in the snow for me, i think you will be pleasantly surprised.
@ensars99 Thank you for the reassurance! We have our first snow of the season (3 to 6 inches) in a couple of days.
I have the 23 IS350 in ultrasonic blue with the circuit red interior. I absolutely love it. How did the stock tires hold up and if you replaced them what mileage were you at? People say they don’t last long and to get the Michelin pilots when they wear.
So jealous! From the UK
Underrated asf
absolutely love the car
I cant wait for mine
you always seem to get the AWD model. The RWD one is drastically better with the 8-speed transmission
I test drove the GS F
two days ago, and now I’m not sure I can ever be thrilled by the 350 😂
How was it ? Looking into getting one
@@grandmastagrimm8773one beautiful machine, buy one and you won’t regret. Lexus is unrivaled
My favorite feature in most newer Lexus csrs has to be the automatic heated and cooled seats. Tells you all you need to know about the climate where I live 😅
I so love the Grecian Water color,I have 2021 Caviar with black AWD IS350 FSport, I would get a 2024 if I saw one that color and was fully loaded like my car is. Its such a rare color very few have come in without special order in dealers around me
for people complaining about the car not being as fast is it should be, i didnt realize it until i actually bought one but there is a little catch on the gas pedal so you actually have to floor it and then push past the catch with a little extra force in order to get maximum acceleration. it makes a huge difference. not sure the purpose of the catch but my best guess is a safety feature to protect the health of the engine.
What do you mean by “catch”? Is it like a tactile thing in the pedal? Or something else? Thx
@@TheRizzler_1higher rpm, a friend that has a ES same engine also told me he noticed that as well then after doing some research it’s true it gets almost like a higher kick once you give it more gas at higher rpm
That’s why I usually don’t get full acceleration when I floor it. Gonna try that later.
@@TheRizzler_1 it’s just like a small mechanical piece that has some extra resistance and once you hit it with the pedal, you have to keep pushing with a little bit more force. if you look underneath the accelerator pedal in the car you can actually see it and push on it. it doesn’t have any sort of signal to the engine or anything like that but it’s merely just something to add a little more resistance.
Ya my IS500 has that too, I didn't realize it until I'd had it for a few months the first time you push past it it pretty surprising lol
one of the best looking lexus' ever built. Shame its not available in the UK.
Because uk is poor
The old Lexus seats are the best. I wish my Mazda had them
Love the video! You should do the Integra Type S again!
Is350 goes back to 07. 10-15’ had convertibles (my car)
Topher has to get his hands on one, their so fun
very nice Classic premium midsize Sedan 👍
superb car
Great review! I know you test drove the 2021 TLX. I was wondering which sound sounds better, ELS or the Mark Levinson
Great video as usual. My only recommendation: pick a different audio test song please for the love of god.
Bonus,I like the key fob. It is nice. I like the touchpad too.
You should give the Volvo S60R a shot. It’s an awd sedan but i think lots of people would love to see a review if you could get your hands on one
Is it weird that I can now tell the difference between Topher and Substitute Topher by which arm i see reach for the ignition?
The front end of this IS looks so agressive - I love it. Too bad they discontinued them in the UK
Someday I hope to be able to afford one of these used when they come off the lease. Hopefully I can get one with the parking assist cameras, red seats and sport + mode
Lexus is a great car!
i have been WAITINGGG for this video #mydreamcar
Chris, The technology on the IS 350 may not be best in class but the quality certainly is.
This IS is the best
The Bridgestone Potenza sport summer tires have much more grip. I had those on my GS 350 Fsport
I can’t wait to get one and put a big spoiler on it
If you're handy and can diy most of the maintenance, you can get a used 350 for 1/3 of the original price with 60-80k miles. Those vehicles are made to last a good 200-300k miles with proper maintenance.
I do like the stance these cars have right from the factory. I've seen a bunch of this new generation in my area and they sit real nice. In my anecdotal experience, it looks like a bunch of people spring for the FSport model because of the sporty look.
I think this segment is good competition for the 3 series BMW. However, the M340i wipes the floor with the FSport is350.
I prefer the exterior styling of this particular IS over the 3 series but I prefer the performance of the 3 series over the IS.
The interior of the 3 series LCI is better than the interior of the IS.
I got a 350AWD with everything but the shade & mark levinson sound system(my moms had it and I know I’m missing out) [white interior with the atomic silver exterior]
for $53k out the door with all of lexus’ wheel/paint/interior protection packages included.
I love it, I was coming from a 2010 mustang v6 that decided to give up on life so the “dated” interior didn’t look dated to me 😂.
Same scenario as you. Everything but mark levinson sound and rear shade. Just get a darker tint and crank the bass up a bit. You have everything you could need, plus some! Congrats!
I recently got one at 10% off from MSRP, the Mark Levinson is probably the best in the mid size sedan segment, the car is nice and comfortable. I do also have a GR86 when I want something more engaging.
@@username8644 I meant when I need something more engaging than IS350, I use my GR86. 😁

@@ncmagic9269 I’m sometimes a big Tedward guy. I don’t watch his videos that much
I really like this Lexus. But at 61k, I'd go to the is500 with the v8
Is 500 would be far more than 61 out the door though lol. You’re looking at 71 out the door with some upgrades, taxes, and titling bruh.
Now Lexus, why not offer a performance exhaust option for the IS 500? 😂 I've always liked the F Sport exhaust on the IS 350 for offering a little more sound without being obnoxious - would do wonders for the IS 500.
I’m totally with you regarding how nice the dashboard/instrument panel is. It looks very clean and of high quality. I am not with you when you say maybe it looks too much like a cock pit though. That’s not possible in my opinion, and let’s not give Lexus any ideas. There are enough generic looking interiors to pick from.
I really wish you could get to have the rear drive version! The dynamics of driving are so different, and I’d love to hear your opinions on them.
If you're looking for a good every day sports car in the Toyota lineup would you get this or a GR Corolla?
I actually like the interior of my 2019 IS350 F Sport better. Despite harsh reviews, I think the mouse and the integrated display work beautifully. I don't care for touchscreen and the pop up display as it seems like an afterthought. Otherwise, same drivetrain any way.
I just ordered a 2024 IS350 F-Sport 3 AWD, fully loaded top trim (F-Sport 3 denotes the top trim for Canadian cars). My current car is also a 2019 IS350 F-Sport 3 AWD.
I drove my 2019 for about 5 years and decided that I liked it so much that I wanted more of the same, but with the beautiful new look, Android Auto, more tech like the 360 camera, and other little stuff. I am also hedging my bets that the 2025 refresh will be a styling disaster, with L E X U S spelled out on the back and the (rumored) discontinuation of the V6.
As for other cars in the class, I am completely disinterested in anything with a turbo 4 popper. There are faster cars for less money, but that's all they really bring to the table. There is more to a car than just outright 0 - 100 kmh times, and that's where the IS350 truly shines.
I got pretty high spec one MSRP 55k with 9% off, which final price is around 50k
Mines the same color with the red seats. Everywhere I go people make comments about it.
One of the best cars on the road. If you disagree you don't know a damn thing about cars
The side mirrors.. I noticed they have a gold/bronze tint to them. Is there a finish on them? I don't like how it looks.
Great car, I was thinking about this or the BMW 330i
I had the new 330i for four days while wife's x3 was getting services. 330 is fast. But, seats way to firm as is the suspension. Touch screen for everything. Fake exhaust sound is very obnoxious- not sure if there's a way to turn it off. I am glad I got to drive it for an extended period of time; will not consider buying it. You need to drive both for awhile. No quick test drives.
@@ed52369 Thanks for the comment Ed. That's really how it is with BMW, I do like the Lexus is 350 more however the 330i does in fact have better miles per gallon compared to the 350. I drive for Lyft and Lyft has this selection of cars they deem to be on the more luxurious side compared to other cars. Both the is 350 and the 330i I believe are considered premium, meaning I would get paid more if I were to do Lyft rides in one of these cars.
Shopped one of these against a TL type S and a G70 3.3t. The Lexus was by far the least performance oriented but if it was my $60k (it wasn't), I'd have went with the Lexus for a variety of reasons.
what did you end up with? I picked up a g70 3.3T a couple weeks ago, loving it so far

dude you keep on reviewing the AWD’s, the 8 speed in the rwd completely changes the car
Just wondering is350 vs vb Subaru wrx which one is better handling and performance? It is two different type of vehicle. Not talking about the price, just on driving and handling side.
4:41 part of the reason I didn't buy one was this hump. I like to bend my knee when i have cruise on and that hump just makes me feel even more claustrophobic.
Hopefully for 2024 they update the CarPlay/stereo with the new system. Then I’ll buy an IS500
You might be able to get a 2021 4 cylinder turbo IS300 rear wheel drive with high miles for high $20’s but not an Is350. I just purchased a 2017 IS300 awd with 58,000 miles for $22

What’s the song? I thought I was the only one that wants Lexus took keep the look that they had for years. This aging waaaaayyyyyyyyyyy better than the Q60
Yeah doesn’t seem quick enough for the IS350 F Sport moniker. Start up sequence in the dash(s) looked cool. Passenger side dash view reminds me of my ‘23 BRZ…makes sense with Toyo/Lex/Subaru design sharing.
Can you turn off easy exit and entry for the steering column and seat in this gen?
Ive got an IS500 in that colour and it looks amazing, theres somwthing about the chrome window trim on the 350 though that make it not look nearly as good.
I did Chrome delete on mine. It’s all black now
I own this car but in white. Is it ok to use in snow with the AWD? How does it do?

would you say that there is more interior space in this or in a Corolla?
I like the intrior it screams business man the loves sports car. I alost love a good 8 speed, the TLX with its old 8 speed is like butter and my veloster has a 7 speed DCT. It's great, but man, it would have been gold with 8 speed and probably been better mpg
