Great advice Jeffrey. I've been in backend development for 14 years and following your tutorials and posts since you were in charge of envato tuts+. You are always a role model and big fish in any ponds IMO

On a long enough programming journey we all start to self actualize and realize the meaninglessness of it all. Looks like Jeff is on his way. Please, more content like this. It's far more valuable and timeless than what the newest little PHP or Laravel function is.

    Oh man!
You are exactly talking about the kind of burn-out I feel when I look at the Laracasts' instructors. 😆

This is some high level life lessons. I'm sitting here applying the concept to everything but programing right now.

As others have said, Jeffrey is a big fish in many ponds. A true one-of-one.

Jeffrey, you are one of the bests explaining anything. Trully. Or at least from a non-native-English-speaker's point of view.
But anyway... What is the point of wanting to be the best on something? I acknowledge this is very common, but IMHO the ultimate goal should be to be as good as you can.

The social media struggle with kids is real, you want them to explore the internet and find out. If they get stuck on something look it up, but it is full of other content. It would be fine if what we tell them is the only thing that intigues their mind, but its not they get influence from their school friends which are allowed to watch all sort of stuff like stupid dances/sketches etc.
Its either you block it all or none, right now I am just blocking youtube shorts and let them access the rest of youtube.
