When I saw that scene I thought "oh that sucks for all the pods on the bottom of the ship. They probably crashed into the ocean floor". But then I realized they were probably designed to turn around and reach the surface in the event that the ship lands in the ocean.

@Darren Rice There was supposed to be a prequel and a sequel. Maybe events leading up to the launch of the ship and its malfunctioning and sinking in the water, and what happened after day one on the new planet?
@Darren Rice Of course the sequel wouldn't have dangerous cannibal mutants on a failing ship unless some of them managed to escape. There were many dangerous criminals, though. Earth is gone, so it could tell about humanity starting on a new planet, if they salvaged any technology or genetic samples from the ship, and if there were any other dangers to overcome on the new planet. A prequel could better explain what led to the ship's launch, and the destruction of Earth. I would like to see both if they ever made them.

Agreed, great movie... I met Dennis Quaid once at a movie shoot he was on in San Pedro Ca. about 9 years ago. A down to Earth guy with that annoying "Actor Ego". I asked if we could talk about his roles in Pandorum and Wyatt Earp as Doc. Holliday. He enjoyed both roles but found that playing "Doc" was a little hard due to the weight had lost in order to appear gaunt. He had to self sequester when meal time came to help avoid craft services. And although i think this falls more under the umbrella of sci fi and survival in space, the dark atmosphere and psychological elements were almost too much for me to take at the time. Even though i was a kid, i knew exactly what he meant by those words and that partially shaped me into the person I am today. Because i know not to trust or underestimate people based on their appearance. Because that same little boy you're hugging today could stab you in the back in the future. The other scene i remember quite more fondly is the cooking scene. And it's all due to one line.... "Taste kinda like uhh.... hmmm. Herb and buttered dog shit." When we first heard that line, my stepdad and i laughed for like a straight 2mins. I said to him laughing, "wait how does know what that tastes like?" This has become one of my favorite movies, mainly because I had no idea what to expect when I first watched it and ended up being pleasantly surprised.
It's one of those under the radar gems. It definitely spoke to my trashy tastes but also my appreciation of psychological horror. Could have been better in some points, but overall, I'd say it's worth its time. Also as a Berlin resident I felt flattered seeing the Brandenburg Gate in the background (at 0:34).
I find the best movies, especially Science Fiction are sadly underrated, unfairly critizied and misunderstood. The bad ratings send me straight for the theaters. This was absolutely a fantastic film, like a book you can't put down I didn't even want to pause it to use the restroom I was locked in from start to finish!
This movie was great. Tripped me out when I learned that those troglodyte freaks were actually what the humans had become. And then even more when the doors open and there are no stars. Movie critics must get bribed to give good ratings and Pandorum didnt pay up.
Literally one of my favorite twist endings. The fact that they were there the whole time is just crazy. That ocean reveal was really cool.

@@donpepe8440 Yup the praised the movie Sunshine i hated it for me it was just the fact that non of the characters even noticed a few details and even then they had a chance to win survive and get back home and well the last two decided oh well we just gonna stand inside of the "****" wrote it this way as to not set off red flags or warnings because even if we are talking about a movie people could be going crazy on purpose for just not liking what i said you know now a days so they decide to just stay there knowing what will happen for me they should have tricked character locked him in then released that **** into the sun and went back home not sure though
yep, but this one is bad. I like it too, but just 'cos there isn't anything better.
the premise of the movie was really interesting. just badly executed. if the script was put in the hands of a talented director, it would have easily been a huge hit
Another reason I never listen to the so called "Critics" reviews! This movie was great!
Pandorum and event horizon are my two favourite spaceship movies
Can you recommend some other movies?
Just watched both of them this weak
@@Akhtar93 alien
"bunch of prisoners sent to another planet"
Me: So... Australia ????
...in space
@@SamuelBlack84 under water mate
My simple little brain is too weak to bear and process all of the information packed in this movie. I watched it years before watching this explain. And I remember I was so scared, overwhelmed, and confused back then as well.
This movie is so fukn good, honestly the only other sci-fi horror films that are better would be alien, aliens and predator (oh yeah almost forgot about Sunshine and Event Horizon, those are great as well)
Aliens is mostly a terrible film... mostly ;)
Hork Porkler how dare you.
You have good tastes
Sunshine ,man
Thanks for the re-upload! I thought I remembered seeing a video by you already for this one. Either way, I loved this film when I first saw it. Very underrated, indeed.
That's one of many reasons I don't listen to the film critics or any other negative comments. This happens to be one of my favorite films of all time. Movies rarely scare me anymore, but there are occasions such as this film. Guess I'm part of a cult now!!! Great review and really like your channel, thanks!
I rate this magnificent film alongside Alien and The Thing as one of the top ten scariest Scifi Horrors of all time!
Very few films get your heart pumpimg like this film did on first viewing!
hey niyat hope youre doling better! just wanted to say thanks for doing some content on pandorum, it is easily one of my favorite films. i was but a young lad when this movie came out and i just bat dead space 1, so the locked on a ship horror vibe of this film was perfect!
The speech about insanity and the freedom of letting go in this movie was amazing.
People here saying it's underrated. Man, I wish I watched this movie sooner. I don't know anything about this movie!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!! I have seen the movie many times and yet there ' were' lot of gaps and unanswered questions that you have answered.
Not an all time great movie, but a really underrated sci-fi film. At times it was fantastic.
I always liked this movie and I had hoped there would be a follow up about the world they went to.
Love your vids ❤ Keep up the awesome works!
This film really was fantastic- I loved the visuals and setting
@FilmComicsExplained Thank you so much for detailing this extremely *underrated* movie!
I mean its pretty much Dead Space/Doom-esque scifi galore but on a movie theatre, captures the humans desperate momments on a stranded(?!) ship
To this day Pandorum is still one of my favorite sci-fi survival horror films! I would love to see a Prequel!
Yeeeeeeessssss! This was one of ny favorite movies growing up. My online name is based off it! Thank you soo much for exploring this one!
This was really an amazing movie. I have watched it many times. A series would be good to watch.
I was like Pandorum again!? Then I thought ,"who cares". And proceeded to watch the video lol
Me too lol
Pandorum is one of the missed hits I love. This movie deserves so much more love then it got.
Basically suffered the same fate as Event Horizon, two amazing sci-fi movies that were badly reviewed when released but were appreciated much later.
I so wish I could have seen the original cut of Event Horizon.
it is very underrated movie. never get old and i always rewatch it a few time after i got no movie left to watch and it still amaze me how good it really is.
Same I love it so much. The creep just don't wear out even though you already know what's gonna happen. I love it !
Same here lol and event horizon
I found this gem of a movie a week ago, its definitely something i will watch again with some friends.
Love these videos. Whenever I watch a movie, I find myself more interested in how the circumstances of the movie came to be.
Great movie, awesome premise and very suspenseful with a nice twist at the end. The creatures from this perturbed me too. They're look like a Cave Crawler from the Descent fucked a Necromorph.
One of my favorite sci-fi movies of all time, with an insane twist.
This needs a sequel, bring Ben back
Just watched it expecting very little, only because I found it in Tubi, but was greatly and happily surprised.
Oh snap I’m early ! I thought this was a old upload with TH-cam’s odd recommendation recommending it to me again.
I just looked up Pandorum Explained and was expecting a video that was 10 years old... but I got a recent video! Thanks!
That was a brilliant overview. I found a movie i somehow missed, that I'm clearly going to love, so thanks. ✌
It’s true, it’s a bloody good movie
This movie surprised the hell outta me when I first saw it. I'll have to watch it again sometime because of how good this video was. Keep it up my dude 👍
This was//is a great movie, Event Horizon is similar. Nice as this movie isn't a big franchise pic, a break from the Alien, Star wars, Star trek offerings. Holds up well
I agree completely and am so grateful that you have brought attention to this forgotten jem 😄
When I played Dead Space, it reminded me of this film and it was one of my favorites. I know Dead Space took inspiration more from Event Horizon but still one of the best space horror films out there.
I loved the movie, amazing concept and it was a total “mind fcuk” when the shutter door opened, I had to rematch the movie twice to truly grasp it but it was awesome!
Next video, you should try explain the zombie virus or the "freakers" from Days gone
Honestly that would be awesome
I feel like it would need more time to do the “freakers” since the game just came out and people need time to find all the info about them in the game, unless it was also a past comic or something I just don’t know about
The let's player I'm watching is like 30 half hour episodes in and the source and method of infection hasnt been revealed yet aha
My favorite sci fi movie. Very memorable, watched many times. Very very underrated by so-called movie critics. Hopefully will become an iconic sci-fi movie of all times.
I really liked the movie as well. It's atmosphere and plot twists had me re-
watch it a couple of times since.
I use you videos as a review for movies to actually watch. More times than not, I'm pausing the video mid way and checking hulu/ netflix. Great stuff 👍
My god a horror sci fi with a great ending how have I not seen this
It’s an amazing ending and just movie altogether! Check it out ! Use look movies or flixtor
I watched it many years ago and it’s still stuck in my mind. Loved the twist ending, I thought the plot was well thought out and the thrill was definitely there. A good movie. Really underrated.
I just noticed that this movie is basically dead space. The ship. The insanity and the atmosphere. Right?
I stumbled across this movie by accident and I’m glad. Has become a favorite of mine over the last 8-9 years.
Bruh I remember accidentally watching this a kid and my dead ass is so scared but kept watching till the end because its so good lol
This has become one of my favorite movies, mainly because I had no idea what to expect when I first watched it and ended up being pleasantly surprised.
Hey bro love the videos...this was a bad ass movie..and this reupload is dope
brilliant movie.
watched it 5 times.
can't understand why it isn't more popular 👍
This is one of my favorite scifi films, to the point of watching it rather often since first seeing it.
This is like one of my all time favorite movies.
1:07 Is it just me, or does that look like P-Body and Atlas from Portal 2?
Always liked this flick. It IS confusing at first but a rewatch fixes that.
A good one to rewatch every once and a while
It's one of those under the radar gems. It definitely spoke to my trashy tastes but also my appreciation of psychological horror. Could have been better in some points, but overall, I'd say it's worth its time.
Also as a Berlin resident I felt flattered seeing the Brandenburg Gate in the background (at 0:34).
Pandorum is a very good, well-made movie, it would be nice to see some pre-quals showing what happened before, maybe even the launch of the ship
One of the best sci/fi horror movies I've seen maybe not perfect in execution but well written and a twist no one will see coming
Such an underrated gem.
One of my favorites but underrated drastically
I find the best movies, especially Science Fiction are sadly underrated, unfairly critizied and misunderstood. The bad ratings send me straight for the theaters. This was absolutely a fantastic film, like a book you can't put down I didn't even want to pause it to use the restroom I was locked in from start to finish!
This movie was great. Tripped me out when I learned that those troglodyte freaks were actually what the humans had become. And then even more when the doors open and there are no stars.
Movie critics must get bribed to give good ratings and Pandorum didnt pay up.
i like waching pandorum after event horizon
Off today and Bingewatching all of your videos. Thank you
