I sure love the releases for the new album... however, I knew when I saw the title for this song that this one was going to hurt... I am 2 months post breakup with a woman who I thought could be one of those "soulmate' types you only meet a few times in your life. I still don't completely understand the break up, her reasoning was figuring out she wasn't ready for a relationship. (She was married for 30 years and was cheated on repeatedly during the last 5 years or so...) It is clear she hasn't fully recovered from that, and I am powerless to help... it still stings, but all I can hope is for her to find healing and peace. Meantime, I listen to these lyrics and have to smile... as though this song was written for me... today...
Hope you are doing better, mate. I've been there, brother, and it sucks. Life does go on, and the pain will fade, although it might not feel that way right now. Just remember, you are not responsible for her past. You're heart is in the right place, but ultimately, love can't be forced. It's a gift, not an obligation.
