Would love to see the final version of the game somehow better incorporate the dusty feel of a desert planet. So many amazing visuals then you have an ornithopter taking off or sandworm passing in the distance and there's hardly any dust. It just ruins the realism/sense of place. I get that it's an incredibly taxing/difficult thing to incorporate particles in that way but it's so integral to the setting.
@@shadowwill Yea, I still play it on a heavily modded server, and there the technical limitations show quite often. Secretly I hope that Dune will be as modable too but I think that is not really a thing for Dune Awakening.
I would imagine melee weapons will be a thing in this game as its core to the world and story. Now whether or not they will be better than or equal to ranged weapons remains to be seen
I would say that ranged weapons can be fit into the lore, considering shields are a big no on Arrakis. Not sure how the recoil from gun-fire will interact with attracting worms.

Want to like to see what it would have been like in game to build a house and decorate it. Play just thought about it in for you to comment on this video but can we please get a thrall system or some type of way to recruit a eyes especially for us to have smaller clans or playing by ourselves this would help us not only guard our faces but just make the world feel more alive. I understand that the team is familiar with the lore but kind of feels like they’re butchering the perfect concept of Dune and turning it into a Desert Shooter with Sandworms & Spice. I haven’t played any of their other titles but all I saw in their interviews & gameplay was Dune-inspired Rust. (Raiding, fighting for monuments(spice)) How many players will the servers have? I would say it’s unrealistic to have >50 players even in an optimized UE5 Multiplayer game of this scale. (With base building and all). Calling it an MMO is just false advertising at this point. Looking forward to see what the game has in store. I’ll be following the development but I must say I am very skeptical. Graphics look amazing, credit to UE5, but it’s the gameplay that matters.
I have bad news for you. The premise of the game seems to be "the desert is full of people building towns to ultimately compete for political power in the imperial political game" so no..... I don't think it will be very true to the books.
This is what I'm concerned about... Will someone who enjoys PVE be able to have an enjoyable experience in this game? PVP is so annoying when it's forced.
I am really looking forward to playing this, it has been a long time since ive played a good survival since ARK. I never was super familiar with Dune lore or books but i did see the movie and based on that this looks really deep and immersive.
Please continue doing Conan or create a new Conan Game, port Exiles to UE5 and add the whole world from AoC to it i don't know your Conan games are just totally amazing

Looks amazing! And one of the best settings possible, but making it an MMO? Bad idea, that might be what kills it. Imagine if this was the equivalent of a "Uncharted" level of gaming (but with more freedom of course). You can't ever get to a certain quality of gaming with MMOs because you're always competing one way or another with other people, you can't shape things your way unless you grind and grind and grind... I can just pick up the controller, open Ghost of Tsushima or Elden Ring and have the time of my life with great combat mechanics and feeling everything was EARNED by me, but MMOs and Games as a Service, if you don't keep spending, and if you don't keep playing, you fall behind, no matter your skill. So yeah, a bit sad it's an MMO, I'll still try it, but I never can keep playing ONE GAME forever like this, and grinding... on an MMO you're never going to be the number one, so it's only exciting when you imagine it, but it's like winning the lotto. Except the other guy is rich, has no job or girlfriend and plays for 17h every day no issue buying all the advantages he can. Game looks cool as fuck, I'm a huge Dune fan, but this is a bit discouraging. I hope somehow I'm wrong and they manage to make a one of a kind amazing MMO.
I have the time of my life playing Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO. I play it solo and enjoy the story and they keep adding to the game's story. So they could do that here. I can't even remember the last time I played it with other players. And, I don't pay to win either.

Considering its based on books and movies, it really was an opportunity for a great story/campaign. I never read the books, but the new movies have drawn me in to the point i want to be immersed in that world, and a game has potential for that. I think the problem with the game however could be the fact it’s not going to involve the storytelling, nor the cinematography and visual effects etc that all do such a good job of creating such an immersible and engaging world that people have fallen for. Its not just a world, its a story too. It is a completely different ball game, and i think that’ll be its biggest problem. There’s only so much you can translate. People like me are hoping the game will feel like the movie, but it won’t. It’s basically guaranteed.

This has Starfield preproduced feel al over it, don't eat up fancy tech terms, or Joel's fancy wordplay. I'm a gamedev, nanite is not revolutionary anymore, the only thing that matters is gameplay and depth, but it's Funcom we're talking about so strike those two out.
I've enjoyed a lot of Funcom games over the years and they have an awesome creative vision imo. Its usually the execution, and over selling the product, that has let them down. Given the sucess of Conan Exiles I think their Dune game has the chance to be decent.

Most likely an impossibility but I would love to see Conan Exiles remade in UE5.2/5.3 or whatever version exists when / if they decide to do it

I see alot of long range weapons but not so much knives. Is melee not a big thing in the game and is its focus on shooting weapons?

The second movie used a lot more ranged weapons too. The reason for this is that you can't really use shields on Arrakis due to them attracting worms.
