What a great idea, visiting places with a well earned reputation in very different locations off the beaten track. I would love to have the recipe for that bean mix. It looked really wonderful and I bet very tasty too. The white and black puddings both looked locally made. What's not to like when you get a decent breakfast in a novel spot. 5/5 there, Greeno for a great take-off and a perfect safe landing at the Bodmin Airfield. Hi Greeno, I asked my hubby Dan if aircraft have green lights and yes they do - the navigation light on starboard wing tip. Dan had a few flying lessons in the past as a gift from his dad. He flew a Tiger Moth and a single-engine Piper Warrior out of Shoreham and completed part of the PPL syllabus. So a green light is indeed apt for this place. ❤

Air Ambulance is a fantastic service. My mum used it one time from Bodmin Moor to Treliske Hospital in Truro. When my dad had to go to hospital one time, he was taken in road ambulance from Bodmin Moor to Truro which tooks ages much to his disbelief. The cafe looks like a nice little place.
Again, we don’t have anything like that over here Greeno.😢. Did I miss something? You only gave them a 4/5. I have given them a 4 and a 1/2 outa 5. The 🍳 wasn’t runny enough and the 🥓was dry I suppose. Great review buddy 👍
Nice looking breakfast if you substitute the tomato for mushrooms it would be ideal for my tastes.Strong black coffee is my choice for drinking until lunchtime and black tea for the rest of the day.Good review and fairly cheap
I asked them to leave off the mushrooms this time haha! Funny what people's hot drinks habits are - my Dad only has coffee in the morning and tea afterwards - no exceptions!
Oh wow! What a great place to visit, I live just half an hour away by car and have never heard of it before. Thanks for this, definitely one to stop by when next on the A30. 😊
HI Greeno Another great find like you say when they have some events there nothing better that have some lovely food. I liked your breakfast but was this a set menu or could you change some of the items. I have never tried that black pudding or that Hoggs item but everything else looked good and good price to. Looking forward to your next treat.
Great review as always. - There’s a cafe in Cadgwith, a tiny fishing village in Cornwall. It’s called The Old Cellars, the fish n chips were great last time I was there.
I rarely see white pudding on a cooked breakfast. The plate looked really good. There was a time when you were given the option of beans or tomato. Nowadays the breakfast plate has grown considerably, what with a more sedentary life style it's not all for the good. Also you would distinguish between a plate of bacon and eggs or a full English, when the protein would be needed to get you through a hard mornings manual labour. A question: Was the plate really hot on delivery? This can make eating the individual items more enjoyable as they stay hotter longer. Thought your scoring was apt and you made a good advert for their business plans.

We have a number of airstrips close to where I live, always fun if you happen to drive past one and someone is flying in or taking off! It was a nice surprise to find the white pudding certainly! interesting to know it's an Irish designed crockery too - maybe there's an Irish link with the business that I didn't know about!!
Looks superb! Although it does need one more egg for balance, and they even left space on the plate for that egg! As someone who doesn't like baked beans that bean cassoulet sounds excellent and I bet it would be great with the sausages and some fried potatoes as a dinner dish. Great review of quality food prepared with care.
I think that space was probably for the mushrooms I asked them to leave off - although had it been filled with an egg I wouldn't have complained! The bean cassoulet was indeed a nice twist.
That was a cracking breakfast! As you said, egg a tad overdone, but not rock hard, so forgivable. The rest looked fab! Big tea pot, worth every penny! Great review👍
Yes, I had to mark it down a touch for a couple of small errors, but not enough that I wouldn't go back if I were in the area - hopefully they'll continue doing well!!
*No Greeno!* It's got to be *coffee* first thing in the morning and with any breakfast, imo. Tea is ok, but that "kick start" that you get from coffee, is something I enjoy every day. Also, *hash browns* are just fine in a breakfast, and I'm glad we've adopted them as part of the "Great British Breakfast!" 👌
I always have tea with an English breakfast, but straight or soon afterwards I'll have a shot of coffee. The tast of tea is delicate and is ideal for breakfast food, whereas coffee masks the flavours.
I will always have a coffee first thing - but I never eat breakfast that soon after waking. So time for one, maybe even 2 coffees before I am even thinking about having a cooked breakfast!!
Near my home town 👍🏼 (am living in Dorzet now). Love Hoggs pudding (and as u comment it should have good hit of pepper in it, and mace etc). Lovely review and always good to mention the air ambulances, (Cornwall introducing the first one in the UK) If wanting suggestions Peppercorn cafe - down Perranuthone, is a lovely little place for a lunch. Rem’s cafe near Newquay is also epic for different take on breakfasts etc. (I have no connection with either, am just a foodie). Keep up the great reviews
Thank you Edwin, we have been using these for over a year now and only had a few breakages. They go in the oven, the bowls under the grill and through a commercial dishwasher. Great looking and value for money, they also come in white with a brown rim. We chose blue to match the club colours.
Now THAT is a proper breakfast! And superb value too 👍 A perfect example of who people should support with their hard-earned money as opposed to millionaires who don't give a toss.
Great breakfst. What is it with small airports? My local GA airport, Jandakot has an excellent little cafe/restaurant too, and the Royal Aero Club also. Maybe pilots have high food standards.
Perhaps that's it - if I lived locally it's a place I would visit just as it's a bit different - a bit of additional interest with small aircraft coming and going!
@@GreenoEats I'm such an idiot. I answered my own question, a GA airfield is mainly for private planes and small charters. Of course the people will have high $$tandards.
I suppose it’s down to personal preference how you like your egg and bacon. Great place looks lovely and clean. Love another great video Greeno Happy Sunday❤️
Yes this is true, but as I am doing the review I have to base it on my preference haha :-) It was a nice little find this one - I hope that their business takes off (pun intended!)
I have visited various airfields around the UK and those that had cafes usually had pretty good food on offer. I always went for the all day breakfast option. Don't remember a bad one?
I noticed you mentioned the homemade beans tasted a little tart , common mistake is not adding sugar to reduce acidity.....took me a while to perfect my own recipe but had a little help from some farm shop chefs 👍 Great vlog from a lovely location , cheers.
Yes, it's about balancing out that sharpness - I think they did it pretty well, I just mentioned it had more of a "tang" to it than regular tinned baked bean. Glad you enjoyed the vlog - nice to shine a light on a small independent place like this!
Navigation Lights - Navigation lights consist of a red light on the left/port wing tip, a green light on the right/starboard wing tip and a white light on the aircraft tail
Thank you Maureen, when we first started the breakfast there was a comment that the black pudding was a bit too soft in the middle. This was you get more crispy surface area, more a matter of taste/texture than looks
I can't believe the prices you pay for a meal. When converted to CAD it's $21. You can get a breakfast anywhere with what you had for $16. And that's expensive. Glad you enjoyed. 🇨🇦
Ooh that looks lovely 😊 the black pudding like this I think will be less scary for those who are a bit wary of trying it 😅 also liked your comments regarding the air ambulance, it’s an invaluable service my family and friends have needed a couple of times, always a good charity to donate to as it’s very costly to take them out. Will have to check this place out 👍🏼
You'rright about the black pudding, hadn't thought of it like that, but scattered around in bote sized pcs made it look more attractive. And spot on about the air ambulance - amazing that it's only a charity, no central funding.
@@GreenoEats I've always just thought of them as an American thing, and because they tended to appear in hotel breakfasts to appeal to American guests they've pervasively crept everywhere, much to the cost of bubble and squeak which is the traditional potato accompaniment to a fry up. Bring back Bubble!
It's in a great location just off the A30 so going to get local workforce and tourists. Breakfast looked great, I prefer my eggs not to be too runny so that was perfect for me and I prefer smocked bacon although that was a little dry as you said. The air ambulance service do a great job all over the country.
You might have scored it a little higher than me then haha - I know my score is based on my own personal experience, but it'd be boring if we were all the same wouldn't it :-) 100% correct on the air ambulance!
@@GreenoEats Exactly, we don't all like the same things. As long as the quality and pricing is reasonable that's what matters as it helps people who might be travelling close by decide whether to pop in or not.
I like two very runny eggs on my breakfast, or any meal that comes with fried/poached eggs for that matter, so I would of been disappointed, whatever else had been served. But them I'm a miserable old ,,,etc. lol. Liked the idea of the tomato/bean cassolette. If they're promoting the cafe rather than the airfield, will need to reverse those sign features size wise! Have you booked for the roast?
That vacant area on the plate is missing something - was that the mushroom designated zone 😂 Or Black pudding The egg was probably cooked on a low heat - I tend to do my eggs like this but my yolks are always runny - lol. I not a big fan of smoked bacon. Black pudding should be slightly crispy outer and just cooked soft centre. A Scottish family friend did her black pudding like this an then put a dollop of marmalade on top and under the grill till it just melted and served - it's amazing.
Yes, the gap is where the mushrooms would have gone I think, asked them to leave it off this time! Black pudding with marmalade sounds very strange, but sometimes the things that sound like they shouldn't work are the best! Just ask Heston Blumenthal!
Tea first so the tea seeps the flavour than milk 😊 the whole breakfast is terrific. There real value .very good place to go im satisfied with there hospitality shows up alot of so called cafes 😊👍🇦🇺
Yes - they were really nice folk there - took the time to show me around the place when they didn't have to. Very enjoyable morning spent, and well fed too!

Even though you don't like mushrooms, it would be nice to see you try a single, tiny bite, ( when free ) with your meal... Maybe in time, you will find a mushroom, that has a texture you like?.... You won't know unless you try! Love your channel!
I do keep trying them, in my breakfast video last weekend for example. Just can’t get on with the slimy little suckers!
@@GreenoEats 🤣
That looked an exceptional feast Greeno. Slightly marred by little flaws, but not enough to warrant not visiting. Great review as always.
Absolutely right - I am sure anyone who visits will enjoy it - it's a good little find!
It's mad that the Air Ambulance survives solely as a charity isn't it - no central funding at all.
@@GreenoEats the RNLI is the same
This piqued my aviation-mad husband's interest. I think we will be planning a trip down to Cornwall in the future!
Excellent - it would be nice to see a small business like this flourish!
Again, we don’t have anything like that over here Greeno.😢. Did I miss something? You only gave them a 4/5. I have given them a 4 and a 1/2 outa 5. The 🍳 wasn’t runny enough and the 🥓was dry I suppose. Great review buddy 👍
Yes, I had to deduct a little for the bits that weren't quite right, but not enough that it would stop me going there again if I was in the area!!
Hello greeno eats just seen your videos the brilliant morning breakfasts looks really good 👍
Thanks, I really appreciate that!
Oh wow! What a great place to visit, I live just half an hour away by car and have never heard of it before. Thanks for this, definitely one to stop by when next on the A30. 😊
Excellent - I am sure they'll feed you well!
HI Greeno Another great find like you say when they have some events there nothing better that have some lovely food.
I liked your breakfast but was this a set menu or could you change some of the items.
I have never tried that black pudding or that Hoggs item but everything else looked good and good price to.
Looking forward to your next treat.
This was a set breakfast, but they had a few different options, and I am sure that you could have done swaps etc.
Great vlog! The food looked good although not a black pudding fan! A score of 4 works for me.
Thanks, I appreciate that - a good find I reckon!
Great review as always. - There’s a cafe in Cadgwith, a tiny fishing village in Cornwall. It’s called The Old Cellars, the fish n chips were great last time I was there.
Thanks for the tip... i'll have a look at it !
Great video
Thanks 🙂
I rarely see white pudding on a cooked breakfast. The plate looked really good. There was a time when you were given the option of beans or tomato. Nowadays the breakfast plate has grown considerably, what with a more sedentary life style it's not all for the good. Also you would distinguish between a plate of bacon and eggs or a full English, when the protein would be needed to get you through a hard mornings manual labour.
A question: Was the plate really hot on delivery? This can make eating the individual items more enjoyable as they stay hotter longer.
Thought your scoring was apt and you made a good advert for their business plans.
Yes, the white pudding was a nice touch, not something you see often. The plate was warm, maybe that’s what kept cooking the egg yolk lol!
@@GreenoEatsthat’s what happened 😂
Good breakfast greeno
It was indeed!
That actually looked really nice and tasty and a bargain!
I completely agree!
What a lovely place for breakfast. Never heard of white pudding being called Hoggs pudding interesting! Thanks Greeno xx
It's a great little find! I hope the review sends a little extra traffic in their direction, they deserve it!
Different products Sarah 😊
@@TheAeroDine Ah I see! Didn’t know that. Thanks x
I would happily eat that .-) Looked delicious .-) Greeno is definitely living his best life eating all this sumptuous food .-)
I've had worse jobs that's for sure!!
@@GreenoEats Mate .. you have my dream job .-) keep up the good work , love your videos and your congenial personality .. watching your videos feels like hanging out with a friend .-)
@@Ikrell-Laires ah that's a lovely thing to say, exactly the kind of vibe I want my videos to have 🙂
Know all about flying schools Greeno! My eldest brother flew Cessnars and other planes for over 20 yrs used to go flying with KYM all the time loved it! Used to go down the little airport too! Kym still builds model aircraft too! 😅 Omg looks amazing Greeno❤❤....I now know why my brother spent alot of time at the Airpirt 😅😅😅 Greeno can I make a suggestion! Would be able to take a video of the food before you tuck into it?? Then we would have a better view! I know that Gary Eats does this too! 😅 Another great food review love all these different place other than a Restaurant so to speak! 😅❤🎉
We have a number of airstrips close to where I live, always fun if you happen to drive past one and someone is flying in or taking off!
I was wondering what you mean about a video of the food - I pretty much always do a few shots after the food is delivered - in this video is't around 5.05 mark - is that what you mean? (I know some people will skip some bits haha!!)
@@GreenoEats hi Greeno hope you are well after your lovely trip! What I was meaning was when the whole meal arrives at the table you take a video from your side where you are eating so the subscribers/viewers can get a overview of the whole meal you have ordered before you sit down and tuck in lol 😆 😉 😜 if this makes any sense because where we are seeing it it is from the otherside of the table...just a suggestion! Enjoy your weekend it's Sunday night here in Oz 😊🤣😂🐨🦘🐾❤
once again a good ole cafe wins the day, no fancy names needed, only live down the road from there so i'll b poppin over there for a try
Excellent - I am sure you'll be made to feel most welcome!!
Being Irish, it's nice to see white pudding on a breakfast. Infact, the cup and plate you're using are also made by an Irish designer.
It was a nice surprise to find the white pudding certainly! interesting to know it's an Irish designed crockery too - maybe there's an Irish link with the business that I didn't know about!!
Who designed the plates Paul? Thanks
@@TheAeroDine I'm not sure to be honest. I just know it's an Irish designer. Possibly Shanagarry potters.
@@paulclancy4221 they are from Ikea, I thought you might’ve known the designer
@@TheAeroDine Ikea?. They look very similar to the potters nmed above.
Nice to see toast on wq separate plate
Yes, all presented nicely here!!
Thanks Martin 😊
That was a cracking breakfast! As you said, egg a tad overdone, but not rock hard, so forgivable. The rest looked fab! Big tea pot, worth every penny! Great review👍
Yes, I had to mark it down a touch for a couple of small errors, but not enough that I wouldn't go back if I were in the area - hopefully they'll continue doing well!!
Thanks guys, much appreciated.
That's a fair way of looking at it - I think the flavour of tea just compliments the breakfast better generally.
Near my home town 👍🏼 (am living in Dorzet now). Love Hoggs pudding (and as u comment it should have good hit of pepper in it, and mace etc).
Lovely review and always good to mention the air ambulances, (Cornwall introducing the first one in the UK)
If wanting suggestions Peppercorn cafe - down Perranuthone, is a lovely little place for a lunch. Rem’s cafe near Newquay is also epic for different take on breakfasts etc. (I have no connection with either, am just a foodie).
Keep up the great reviews
Glad you enjoyed the video Dave, and thanks for the tips - I will look them up!!
Nice IKEA blue coffee or tea cup and saucers too. We have them in Holland :P
That's where they are from huh!
Thank you Edwin, we have been using these for over a year now and only had a few breakages.
They go in the oven, the bowls under the grill and through a commercial dishwasher.
Great looking and value for money, they also come in white with a brown rim.
We chose blue to match the club colours.
Excellent review. Great breakfast for a very reasonable price.
Thanks David - it was indeed a very nice breakfast, I hope these guys do well.
Great looking breakfast. I like white pudding, not a fan of black. Eating at a flight school sounds cool as well. Nice vid.
Yeah, a little bit of a different venue - I liked it !
Yes indeed Green is a nav light on right and red a nav light on the left
Good to know my scoring system was apt then 🙂

Nice use of the plane emoji there Smithy on a video where I am at an airfield 😀
@@GreenoEats you spotted it Greeno! 😂 I’m just making some breakfast before I watch this!! 🤣

Now THAT is a proper breakfast! And superb value too 👍 A perfect example of who people should support with their hard-earned money as opposed to millionaires who don't give a toss.
Agreed 💯 Timbo!
Hi guys, keep up the good work !!!!!
Thanks, I will endeavour so to do!
Amazing breakfast, top quality. I would absolutely murder that.
It was a cracker - a good find I reckon
Thanks Doctor!
What a find and a decent breakfast to boot.
Yes, when I found this place online I knew I had to visit!! Good job that I did :-)
Great video as always pal 👍
Thanks Scott - glad you enjoyed it!
I thought that breakfast looked splendid.
it was a good'un wasn't it - just a shame the egg was a bit over
Thank you rationalbacon 🎉
Maybe I will have to try out some more then - good to know!
I've flown into Bodmin several times.
Nice - they're good folk there I found :-)
Have you been in since we had the Clubhouse refurbished?
@TheAeroDine No I haven't. It was gutted last time
I noticed you mentioned the homemade beans tasted a little tart , common mistake is not adding sugar to reduce acidity.....took me a while to perfect my own recipe but had a little help from some farm shop chefs 👍
Great vlog from a lovely location , cheers.
Phew - there is a green light then!!
Looks very good
It was - couple of small things in the cooking, but down to personal taste really - well worth a visit if in the area!
Great value for all that, such a shame about the egg. 16 K and climbing 👍
Yes, I think it was a very good breakfast - shame about the egg yolk. Hopefully like the planes there my numbers will keep soaring :-)
What a great breakfast me not a lover of the beans (kidney beans) but well presented love the way the pudding was done 4 out of 5 enjoy
It was a decent breakfast, I enjoyed the little twists personally
Thank you Maureen, when we first started the breakfast there was a comment that the black pudding was a bit too soft in the middle.
This was you get more crispy surface area, more a matter of taste/texture than looks
Yes and on wings red and green lights. I do tea only. 4 of 5 + or - and yes very much than breakfast I had some time ago.
Ah ok - that's good to know!!
I can't believe the prices you pay for a meal. When converted to CAD it's $21. You can get a breakfast anywhere with what you had for $16. And that's expensive. Glad you enjoyed.
🇨🇦
Ah, but you haven't been through Brexit and have the most horrible energy prices in Europe!!
The beast of bodmin is a regular there.😊
Luckily just the Beast of Dorset was there that day haha!!
Hi greeno great vid again the breakfast looked good to me so jealous of where you live .Cornwall is fantastic and I get madchester😅
Thanks, much appreciated. Cornwall is great, but so far to get to - even living in Dorset it takes me best part of 3 hours to drive there - it's mad!!
Looked lovely! Best of luck to them for the future. One thing? They should include a bit of bubble and squeak?
I wouldn't say no to a bit of bubble!
Well that's made me hungry. Time for a fry up - no hash browns!
Does anyone ever have those hash browns at home? I can't imagine ever cooking a breakfast myself and adding them.
I totally Agree with you Greeno a 4/5 a decent breakfast and a fair price too.Well worth going to if your in the area.😊
Yep - only just off the main drag through Cornwall too, well worth a little detour!
After 7pm here in Victoria Australia cheers 🍻🍺
I'd still eat an English breakfast at 7pm haha!
🍻
I haven't booked for the roast - it's a 3 hour drive - will try to do it sometime if I am in the area
More than welcome on the two runny eggs!
7.52pm Sunday night! Hi Greeno am hour late but better late than never!
Good evening then :-)
Im not familiar with it but look up Guy Richie. He has a finger in a pie at an air field. Check it out!👍
He does indeed - it's the Compton Abbas airfield about 30 mins away from me
That vacant area on the plate is missing something - was that the mushroom designated zone 😂
Or Black pudding
The egg was probably cooked on a low heat - I tend to do my eggs like this but my yolks are always runny - lol.
Just ask Heston Blumenthal!
try the stanly breakfast at the swan hotel alresford hampshire
It's a good'un is it?
Tea first so the tea seeps the flavour than milk 😊 the whole breakfast is terrific. There real value .very good place to go im satisfied with there hospitality shows up alot of so called cafes 😊👍🇦🇺
Yes - they were really nice folk there - took the time to show me around the place when they didn't have to. Very enjoyable morning spent, and well fed too!
