In my opinion at for me. There is no excuse for installing Spyware or any of this sketchy stuff on anyone's phone without their knowledge. A person that does this shady probably has no moral compass or no concise.
Thanks so much for this great video. And the discount code. And for all the time and effort you put into answering our questions. You are a rockstar! Whatever you make from these videos and affiliate links is not nearly enough for all the assistance you provide, so I say A HUGE THANK YOU to you. I ordered certo, with your code. I have two questions: First, you suggested just starting over. Does Certo eliminate the need to do that? And if you are starting over, should you create a whole new Apple ID and use that, or is it enough to just use get a new phone and start fresh? Also, If you have an Apple ID, is there a chance that the spyware is actually hacking that, and therefore all of your other devices? I’ve seen software that promised to do that, but perhaps knowing one’s Apple ID and PW was required? If you have a chance to answer, I’d be really grateful.
Thank you for the kind words! To answer your questions: 1. I think that starting over is a very last resort. Yes, Certo should significantly reduce the possibility that you’ll need to do this. 2. It depends on the nature of the problem. If you have some reason to believe that your Apple ID has been compromised in some way, I can see why somebody would start fresh with a new one, but I honestly don’t know of anybody who has had to do that and would be hard pressed to think of a reason that would happen.
Great question. Certo detected both (that's why it said there were 2 known issues). After I removed the keylogger, I was then instructed to remove the app that was sending all the picture and location data. I didn't show that in the video because it would have revealed the name of the spyware I used (which I really didn't want to do).
Great question. When you're dealing with this kind of spyware removal, you're going to have to eventually trust somebody, and I've really liked Certo. They're a UK based company (not China or something else) and they have a solid reputation and history, being used by many people in the cybersecurity world. More importantly, though, the software runs everything locally on your computer. I was able to do this entire scan while the internet was disconnected from my computer.
@@AllThingsSecuredto ad to this conversation, you’d have to stop and think about the business model, if all the products are “free”, then how is the company making money from “free”? Those are the ones to be concerned about as far as privacy actually goes.
Question: It seems that you installed more than a key logger. (You were able to see photos also)... should that have been picked up as spyware also? Certo said there was no spyware. Just wondering if it missed something on your wife's phone
A question I've been asking myself since I discovered your youtube channel: how can I tell the difference between good actions to protect myself, and paranoia ?
Another excellent question. The answer actually depends on the person and the situation, honestly. If you're a high value target who has good reason to believe that a government agency is watching you, what might be considered "good actions" for them might be "paranoia" for you. Make sense? Have you created any kind of risk profile for yourself? This would help you understand what actions would be "good" versus "paranoia".
Was the spyware that you installed on the phone visible in the home screen then if it wasn’t jailbroken? Does this prove there are hidden software that can be in iPhone ?
How to install Certo in a MacBook? At applestore is says "This app is available only on the App Store for iPhone and iPad." And in your video you say that installing it directly at the phone doesn't work.
The Certo app for MacBook has to be downloaded directly from their website after you purchase a license. The app on the app store for iOS only does a general scan of the phone. In order to go deeper, you need to connect to your computer to scan the whole backup.
It sucks to live in a world where you can’t trust anybody and you have to just get rid of all smart devices because the paranoia is eating you up inside.
How long did your scan take? Mine has been running for over 2 hours and the progress bar is only approx. 1/10 %done and has not moved in a while. I purchased using your code. Thank you.
@@AllThingsSecured ok thank you so very much for your telling me this. Seeing how I have never owned a computer or laptop I guess my next phone when I do get one will be an android phone. Thank you so very much. 🙏😊
While I am talking on my house phone to a friend on his cell phone, every single call, the phone number of another friend we both know shows up on my caller ID during the call. Is my house phone picking up the phone number of the person spying on the call?
Hi, sorry Could you help me in my situation, everything is hacked on the iPhone (Apple ID, apps, but not email, passwords). Technical service tells me it is only with Apple Us, so that they can solve the hacking, but even calls are diverted and I cannot call them, nor have I been able to communicate to Apple or through the website. Could someone give me a hand on what other option I have to be able to solve this in some way and not lose it after only 5 months of having it?
I’m a bit paranoid which is both a curse and blessing. The paranoid part of my brain wonders how I can be sure that Certo didn’t install any spyware. Thanks
I get that. It’s a UK company that has won industry excellence awards, so I feel fairly comfortable with it. Eventually you have to trust somebody, and I prefer to trust somebody I know and like.
Josh thanks for this video, using Certo seems like a no brainer. Do you know of any equivalent software for MacBooks please? Good luck with the snoring btw!
Ha! My wife has survived me for 17 years, I hope we're ok by now. When it comes to MacBooks, now we're dealing with Antivirus software, which is a different beast altogether. I still haven't chosen one that I really like yet, although there are plenty.
This video is incomplete. I completely understand, and agree with, not disclosing the name of the malware. However… HOW did the malware get on the phone in the first place?!?!?!? THAT IS IMPORTANT. Was it from the App Store? A malicious website? Email attachment? Was physical access to the device required to install the malware? What is the likelihood of the malware being installed on an iOS device used by someone who uses common sense when using their device? Too much essential information is omitted at the beginning.
I appreciate the feedback. My response is that there are far too many ways that something like this could happen. Some require physical access to the device and some not. But no matter how it happened, the solution is still the same, which is why I made this particular video.
@@AllThingsSecured - Agreed. There are too many ways this can happen… on Android devices. Android devices seem to be magnets for malware. The only spyware I ever heard being able to be installed on an iOS device, is the spyware made by that company in Israel. You know the one… they supposedly only sell it to governments, regardless of ethics. If spyware can be easily & casually installed on an iOS device by a civilian, THAT IS NEWS. It definitely shouldn’t take that long. I would try again and then reach out to Certo. They’re very responsive.
Same here! Takes forever and never actually completes the scan because my computer falls asleep after having babysat it for over an hour.
Is there another app besides certo that will check for spyware of any kinds and remove these things if found if I do not have a computer or laptop?
For an iPhone, you need a computer/laptop. Apple does not give permission for apps to have that kind of access to your phone.
