You answered all my fearful questions. Thank you so much. I’m new with my GF GLOWFORGE. Really have cut much but you gave me confidence looking at your videos. I’m a subscriber thank you so much.
Great video, love how easy it is to put together a nice looking box with the Glowforge. I've been doing a slide over lid on my boxes, but would love to check out this set-in version. Also, for weeding masking, I got a roll of Gorilla Tape and it just pulls all those little pieces off in 1 or 2 goes. Definitely give that a try!
Thank you so much for this video. I have been looking for a tutorial that gave every step in a way that was easy for a newbie to Glowforge to understand! Can't wait to try it!
Thank you for the video! When you save it as SVG how does the Glowforge know to engrave your logo and not cut it with the boxes? Do you have another video explaining? Thanks.
Great video! I am wanting to make the box into a lantern that would have a battery powered light so light would glow through cut out areas. Do you think that would work? I am new at working on things with my glowforge and want to make a Spider-Man lighted box for my grandson. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks for the video!!! How can I make a box with flat sides on the top and bottom?? I basically just want a cube but without a lid or a floor. Thanks!!
Hi there! I’m making some coasters that are 4” inches wide. I saw that you make the 4” holder, but size the coasters are 4”, what would the size of the holder be? Thanks!
I do have a question. I was wanting to make a longer box and when it designs there are so many notches. Is there a way to make it work with less notches?
The .198 is the thickness of the material. It is the same measurement that you put into the box designer. If your material is .25inches you would plug that number into it.
I printed some boxes I was going to convert into a lamp. But the sides won’t hold together or slide together as easily as it did with yours. Now I feel like I might have done something wrong even though I got my box as a template from a website. Has this ever happened to you? How can I fix this?
@@ArmbrusterWoodshop no, I just uploaded the template with my design to the glowforge app, resized it to what I wanted. Chose my material, and then I printed it. I'm still new and learning so I'm not sure if what I did was wrong.
@@911HerbalinfoGoneRaw resizing already built designs will give you this effect, you're basically enlarging or downsizing the thickness of the material when you do this. Unfortunately there is no easy way to fix this unless you cut the design as is or ask the developer of the design to make the design bigger with the same material.

Awesome tutorial. Is there a way to add kerf using that box making website? I want to get my tabs to fit tight so they don’t fall apart without gluing
On the box builder website there is a sport for adjusting Kerf. Just play with it till it fits right
Is there a setting you put on the logos so that it doesn't cut all the way through and just engraves?
There is an engrave setting on the glowforge. It lowers the power
@armbruster woodshophow did you arrive at 0.198 when designing for the lid insert? by the way I subbed.
*how

Usually when you buy a template from a company you have to change it a little based on the thickness of your material...did you do that?

Take the box into illustrator or any vector program and delete the notches on the bottom
