The short run to Aberfoyle for the 2023 Norton National rally, the overtakes were staged and were perfectly safe (and Legal) Fiona on the John Player and me (Captain slow on the Fastback)
A grand video Gino and Fiona. Lovely to watch those two Nortons. I knew two guys in the '70s that used to run them, one of them was a JP Commando, a beautiful machine. Had a short run on one and never forgot that muscly torquey pull of the engine.
Yes they moved there after Mill Street, the guy that had the new Norton which I don't think was a genuine Production Racer was Shaw's mechanic George? I don't think he went over to Bridgend it was about then I got scunnered with my regular visits with a broken down new BSA , So it was Mr Buchan who took my big end knocking BSA plus £30 in exchange for a new Honda. with
Thanks Iain, was through Comrie yesterday on the bike. You have a good memory, the old Sunburst Disco days . The track is from an Edinburgh band called the Alibi's, the lead singer was a friend of ours. Really good band. As for the Taking it up the Trossachs I'll just leave it there
We want to go there sometime, It's on the list! We were planing a trip across Russia just before Covid hit and looked at a ferry from South Korea to Japan.

Absolutely stunning bikes ridden in style on grand roads....I remember drooling over a Production Racer? In Shaws Motorcycles Mill Street 1971ish
I knew about Shaws but unfortunately was never in there, they had a place in bridgend which I was in trying to buy a bike when I was still at school

@@oldfella4096 So was that the same George that then worked for Buchans? Had a visit from Donald a couple of weeks ago
I don't recall Shaw's mechanic George? Working at Buchans but he may have done I remembered Donald's mechanic was Norrie Barlass
@@oldfella4096 Maybe a different George, I know Norrie well
Thanks for sharing
I bought a new Norton Interstate 850 Mk 2A back in 1974.
...£815.00
😊
I could never afford a new one, my first one bought s/h from a friend was £650
Great vid, shame we couldn't hear those lovely engines.
There was to much wind noise, hence the music, must try harder, I know
I will refrain from any “ Taken up the Trossachs” comments
Nice vid and accompanying soundtrack
Don’t recognise it from the Sunburst Disco playlist

Cheers Tim
