She could sing a grocery list and still send shivers down everyone's spines. She may have died at 47, but she accomplished more in her life than most people accomplish by the times they're 90.
Judy wasn't the cause of her addiction, her mother started her off with pills at such an early age and then when she signed to MGM she was put on more, the abuse she endured there and working constantly ruined her, anxiety ruined her so she continued the pills because they made her feel better. Every time she became ill the studio wouldn't allow her to take the appropriate time off for her to get help and get better, they wanted her back right away because she was the money maker. Judy went through a lot but the one thing we can agree on, she sure shined on that stage as though her world was perfect.
It always amazes me when the audience knows a song word for word like that. That part made me well up more than anything. The idea that that song is a part of so many people's collective psyche. The idea that SHE is a part of so many people's collective psyche. Extraordinary. Never another like her. Never.
Judy Garlnd not only diva of the song. I love how she put emotion no every line she sings, beyond the emotion there is love, life and sorrow. A very big interpreter. Love her. RIP judy garland.
I agree with this. Though, I do get tears in my eyes when Liza does a little line from this song or something. I feel like she is making this visual connection to her mother in front of all of us. That is just a beautiful sight to me.
Liza doesn´t like to sing this song after her mother passing. She said so in a show in Miami. Liza said: That song has been sung when the public asked her to sing it. I understand her.
The only time I’ve ever known Liza to sing ( and it was only a short part of it) this song after Judys death was at Michael Jackson’s birthday. It can be found on TH-cam
I love this soooo much!!!! She had a rough time in life but her voice was magical! She was magical and one of a kind. Thank you Judy for everything. Rest in Paradise Queen Judy!
I still get chills when you hear the entire Audience singing along with her. They were like some heavenly chorus. This is the connection Judy and her audience and why Judy loved us so much!
I don't know the whole story no doubt, but this seems like such a precious moment captured for us. Judy Garland. Such remarkable talent and soul. If her agents and advisors abused and took advantage of her, they will get there judgment some day. Oh how I pray for God to protect the gifted and famous performers of our time to avoid the evils of addiction and wrong choices. God rest your soul Judy Garland. May God guide and protect your life Liza Minnelli.
Judy Garland and Somewhere over the Rainbow were my Mom's most favorite. We carreid her to her final resting singing this song. May G-D grant them both eternal rest.
All the audiovisual world can be dated as before and after Digitalization... so the truth is that while all this people really sang and really had voices, today... nobody really sings any more. And what's incredible it's how Liza is so so alike her mother! Amazing... so talented.
A great tribute to the beauty that was Judy Garland. Not many people could coax that out of an audience. It shows the love that her fans had, and still have, for her.
Aloha Judy and Liza and inonemus !!! Thanks for posting "Somewhere Over The Rainbow." This is my favorite song !!!!! WE ALL NEED TO SEE AND BE PART OF R A I N B O W S IN OUR LIVES !!!! A humble fan, Robert S.J. Hu September 2, 2020
She was always happiest on the stage. When they sang part of the song back to her, we can see how much she loved her fans. When her family and friends turned away at the end, her fans never did. Her talent still marvels new generations of fans. Singers today cheat their fans by not singing live at their concerts or they sound really bad vocally because they use tech to improve their singing. Judy is raw talent and she "wows" new listeners because they've never heard real singing. RIP Judy. :)
wow, if only she was alive now, in England(where i live) not many people adore Judy Garland, and the wizard of oz, the way America does, but Judy, we really do miss you, and no one can sing as fabulously as you did. rest in peace!
there is just some people with the ability to perform judy was one of those people i can tell she was just a lovely person i wish i could have known her and goodness she sure did love her kids writing those songs for them and doing everything for them you can tell she loved them by the way she beamed at them
It's the way Judy says 'oh i've sung this song for so many years...' you know what song she is going to sing, bravo Judy Garland, may you still be in history for hundreds of years to come!
wow... this is my favourite performance of this song....as she got older i think it meant a lot more to her personally and tht really sdhines through in this perfromance...rest in peace judy
@EnchantedSilence There is no interview that Judy Garland ever said she didn't like "Over the Rainbow" in fact in 1967 when she was on the TODAY show she said that was the best song ever written. She had great reverance for that song & never joked about it. She rarely sang it on television but always sang it in her concerts. I seen almost every interview and I never heard her say she didnt like the song. Even in her Biographies there never was any mention that she didnt like Over the Rainbow.
The reason no one wants to sing along is because I know if I was sitting in that audience that would be only one person I want to be hearing singing that Miss Judy Garland💔
The audience was so entranced with her they just wanted to her her voice, then she mad ...lol...wonder what Liza thinks when she sees this? What a gift she was to America and the world.
She could sing a grocery list and still send shivers down everyone's spines. She may have died at 47, but she accomplished more in her life than most people accomplish by the times they're 90.
Yes she certainly could
Liza still sings it live.
If anyone in showbiz deserved to be a legend in their own lifetime, it was Judy Garland. She gave so much.
I jus love how liza looks at her mom the whole time then claps when she finishes gurl that got me cryin
She may have lived her life on drugs and alcohol but her voice never fails to give me shivers what a shame she is gone
she wasnt taking the drugs willingly ... go research it
Prįncess Łaçie m u need to research too !
Prįncess Łaçie but she got addicted

The HollyWeird Studio System developed & encouraged her Addictive nature.

When Judy hits the perfect note at the end of the song and I see the smile on Liza's face, I want to cry.
When you get over 2500 ppl singing in tune to their favorite Star is quite an amazing feat. It goesbeyond magical. It send a chill through your body.
When the audience sings your song
You already win their hearts :,)
Judy OWNS that song, and she always will! Rest Peacefully dear Lady ❤🕊
Yes she does her entire life was chasing rainbows 🌈
She certainly does own it
Judy was a class act to the end.

I've never seen this before. I always had a crush on Judy Garland, from this I can see she was much more of a special person then I ever thought.
it was amazing and the way Liza cheers Judy just made me cry

Awe and look Liza how happy and proud was for her mom, they both were so happy i love to see them together.
All the audiovisual world can be dated as before and after Digitalization... so the truth is that while all this people really sang and really had voices, today... nobody really sings any more. And what's incredible it's how Liza is so so alike her mother! Amazing... so talented.
Some classical, jazz & country singers do, fortunately.
涙なしには見れません。わかる人だけだでいい。

I love her. And I am seriously 16 years old. She's been my favorite in the world since I saw Wizard of Oz when I was a little girl.

One of the most beautiful and legendary moments on TV. Sad that her show didn't last.
One of the biggest hits of Judy Garland!
