I like this arrangement a lot. It’s easy to overlook Matt (especially when the others are so amazing), but in accapella and mixed choir music, the bass is really important.
Honestly, I think the sign of a good bass line (along with the percussion), whether it's in a capella or an external instrument, is that it gets you grooving but doesn't take away from or overshadow the melody/lead singers. So, on the one hand Matt's bass really stands out as killer in this one, but on the other hand...for the first listen to it, I'm not surprised it was the singers - the ones singing the words, that is - that held your attention (pun fully intended) even though subconsciously you're absolutely registering the groove of the bass. Listen to it again and I bet you will notice it. I usually have to listen to a song about 10 times to catch everything that they're all doing, and sometimes it takes more than that. As for their version of this song, I heard it before I heard the original. And I was actually excited to hear the original because I'd heard how good the guy was...well, I was really damn disappointed to be honest, I thought he was a crap 🤷 everyone's taste varies of course. However...he wrote a really good & catchy song when put in the hands of the right people imo. Just another case of PTX and their upgrades. I'm sure I'll get flack from Charlie Puth fans but can't help my own opinion.
Kirstie with the tough attitude!!! Loved that. Matt and Kevin just slay this. Scott turns on the textures of that voice, then Mitch just purity vocals, even with the "porn stache" LOL.

The whole 'Home' EP is fantastic, actually. Need to check your playlist again, but if you haven't reacted to them yet, you need to do 'When the Party's Over' (I know you love Billy Eilish 😉), and 'Blinding Lights' . Again, both of these are from their 'Home EP'. Thanks for this one!
"Break My Heart" and "Blinding Lights" (and the Billie Eilish song) are from the "At Home" EP, while this is from the "PTX Presents Top Pop Vol I" EP, released two years earlier. This was Matt's third video as an official member of the group, and the fourth overall (he was a guest vocalist for "Deck the Halls").

Great way to do the PIP. I've seen a tiny number of others do similar, and it does get past a lot of the algorithms.
