When you are steaming, a “whirlpool” should be formed. This allows you to keep a good, creamy milk consistency while letting in as much air as you would like (depending on what sort of coffee you want as in latte or cappuccino). The more air you let in, the more foam. You could have had more foam if you let more air into the milk. You will know if air is being added once you hear a loud sssssss sound. I recommend watching some videos to better understand. Also, it’s recommended that you steam until the picture is too hot to comfortably hold. I hope this helps!!
