Side Dressing Urea Nitrogen to sweetcorn Using A Earthway Seeder

Its time to side dress nitrogen to the sweetcorn at the homestead. Our sweetcorn field is at V6 and needs a nice fertilizer bump. To apply the urea fertilizer today I am using a Earthway Seeder. This handy tool just found another use! Our market farm will certainly benefit from applying nitrogen in a metered pace.

I own the same planter. My farm is close to Lake Superior. Because of weather conditions I was able to first plant my sweet corn last week. Nice idea using your planter to apply fertilizer. Please post follow-up videos on the success of your application. I'm anxious to try it on my crop when big enough. Thanks

They do have a fertilizer application device that mounts in the Earthway seeder. Have one, seems to do the job. Like anything else, takes a little peddling around when you first start using it. If the way you are doing works out, no need to make any changes.
If you could go thru and hill the corn it would really cover the fertilizer well. Like to hill when about that stage.

What a great idea! I have about a 1200 sq/ft plot of sweet corn and have been side dressing with a cup and eyeballing it for years. I already did my side dressing this year but will definitely try it out next year. My corn patch is really small compared with yours but my back is in bad shape so this could help me out a lot.
