how much slack do you give the strings before you start tuning up?
As you can see at 2:20 you can have a little bit of slack in them, the important part is making sure the tuner on the bridge is all the way forward, so you have room to tune to the right pitch. Other than that I just mark the string and cut it.

Do you see any potential weaknesses in the bridge? Other headless designs I've had ended up breaking, so I'm apprehensive to try another one.

@@xray606 you just gotta be careful about crappy hardware. good headless hardware is as good as if not better than standard hardware
Are those roundwound or flatwound strings? Have you tried using flatwounds? Thanks
@@horriefic They are daddario EXL170 roundwound, I've never tried flatwound on bass
