    Near the end of the video - the salary expectations are $11,000 to 33,000 a year? Say WHAT? Holy crap! Americans are so screwed. Even in Russia where the income tax is 5% and health care is included, the salary is much more than that.

    I realize this video is a bit old, but an average salary of $11K - $33K per year (5:10, I'm assuming C$) is either not accurate or a manager will be living a life that's close to poverty. Correct me if I'm wrong. My restaurant skills was only at a company run Taco Bell decades ago. The 10 to 12 hour days seems to be about right for managers, and that was working for 5 and often 6 days per week. That's not a career for me. All that work and pressure would have probably eventually kill me. Anyway, if this is for you and you believe it will lead you to better things, don't let me stop you.

    • @roachtoasties

      I worked at a Taco Bell decades ago. While not a fancy restaurant, they had a manager training program. Employees became managers fairly quick. The problem is, it was a revolving door. Managers either quit or were fired almost as fast they hired them.

    Very smart woman. But when I heard 11 to 33 thousand a year is the average. Bahhhh. Long hours too. I heard managers at Pizza Hut or McDonalds make over 40 K????

    • @devondavis8706
      @devondavis8706 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wish that was the case, however Fast Food General Managers (like Pizza Hut and McDonalds) don't quite make that much. I am a RGM for a Pizza Hut and my salary is within the range she gave.

      Larger companies offer more. This seemed to be low on the scale for me. A starting manager for Darden with restaurant experience starts around 50k

      I think she gets a good end of the year bonus. Most restaurants give good bonuses depending on sales, which motivates managers to really get passionate with the work
