Gotta be honest, Mariano, you are one of the best thinking players I've ever seen... and it seems to generally pay off for you... great content, hang in there
Crazy thing I’ve noticed playing through the years is right after a huge win comes a big loss. Something I’ve learned and decreased those losses is by keeping my ego in check and not over playing hands in the following sessions. Also taking a break after the big wins to ground myself.
Been watching you since you were grinding 1/3. Started with the other vloggers and just though I'd give this guy Mariano a chance. You're without a doubt the best poker player out of everyone who vlogs it. Keep up the grind, can't wait to see you bounce back big man!
@@markusmolnar8701 brad is a nice guy but his content is boring af. Playing 3k buy-ins and analyzing every single hand for 3 minutes is not enjoyable whatsoever.
Man I needed to hear/see this. Just came off my worst session playing 5/10/20 at the Wynn and it sure was humbling. Not that misery loves company, but it is a bit reassuring seeing that it happens to the best as well. Thanks for the content Mariano
Yeah, i had a steady run good for almost a year netting me 30k in a hobby 1/2 & 2/3 game and i am now finally hitting the bumps for two weeks straight with all of them loses, even in tourneys. The worst hand i had was 2 black aces vs KsJs. He raised pre $30 (overplaying) and i re-pop to $120. Flop all spades & all chips came flying on the flop for 1.2k pot. The run bad is real, no matter how good you are, and it certainly is humbling.
Mariano, I’ve got to say, you looked either tired or like you weren’t feeling well in this game. That’s usually a recipe for a losing session. I’m sure you’ll get it back quickly with these big games.
I would guess that he is being staked or has been leveraging his TH-cam revenue to jump up in stakes and caught some good variance to not get broke right away
@@workout868join8-He has gotten miles better since he started, but he runs like god & got away with A LOT of sloppy mistakes early on building his bankroll...i don't think he has ever really ran bad where nothing goes right.
Tough loss Mariano, the first ten jack suited hand when you said you started cold calling more was the right play you don't want to isolate with the only preflop hand that can make 4 nut straights. The hand you got bluffed by super tight man who had King Queen of clubs only did that because he saw your ten high bluff when Barry called with Ace nine off . If you ever want to chat about getting help moving up in stakes let me know. keep up the great play and vlog!!
Hey @Mariano, thanks for sharing. Been following you since the beginning and am always impressed by your play, thought process, and progression - super impressive. Keep it up and don’t get too down. Agree w/ other’s (and you) - seemed like you were tired or a bit burned out and were not on your “A-game”. Poker is a grind - don’t forgot to take care of yourself!
Thanks for the transparency man, we love to see you win, but we respect you a whole lot showing sessions like this. With a rockstar player you are, you'll make that back up! We believe in ya buddy.
The outro. What a mensch. You just look into the camera and say, "I got destroyed." Honesty, clarity, and a reminder that a week ago, you *won* about twice that much. I'm proud to be a viewer.
Thanks for sharing what I'm sure was a painful loss. I've been watching long enough to know it is only a slight downturn for you and you'll more than make up for it soon.
great content man, glad I found your channel. p.s. I noticed you instacall in some spots like the last Q5s hand on the flop and might give away some more info than you'd like about your hand strength (I could be completely wrong as well though haven't seen enough of you)
Super happy how you have evolved from the 2/5, 5/10 streets to these super high stakes games… you seem super humble and good luck getting backs the 36k

Great content and your a natural orator at poker analytics. Been grinding every type of card game for decades (rock type), and your style of poker is inspiring (aggressive with a dash of crazy Ivan). Keep up the good work Mr. M
Excellent video ,feel for your loss but hopefully just a slight blip .As ever sound and picture quality are superb and you must put a lot of thought into the background music ,much appreciated .Hope the cards turn soon in your favour.
Dryer than the sahara, i feel that. Once in a while you just never get your hands made, face bad beats, and cant seem to make the right decision. Still had the right reads mostly, people made gutsy calls on you this time around. Nice session Mariano!
Bro. I've only seen a few episodes with Barry, but even I know that you can't bluff that man. He is a calling station. There is a reason why he gets invited to the game.
Ive been following you for the past few years and its good to acknowledged your downfall. I will never ever get to play this big of a hand but i wish you the best of luck in your early career. Btw, 20k goes a long way currently.

What are your thoughts on the LATB set? It looks so dark on stream... especially when they have the background TV screens with black/dark images. Is it dark when you are playing? I'm not a fan of the new setup... not a lot of contrast, esp when players wear black.
6:00 Imagine fun player folding top pair no kicker after UTG opens, cbets into 4 players, barrels turn into after 2 calls and bets big on the river after 2 bricks ;> live cash games
You say you butchered that hand. You didn't play it like u normally would. But I think it's very important to mix your play up. It confuses players. Keeps them guessing.
There's a lot of videos of Barry playing on LATB, I think at the stakes you are playing at, it would be worth thousands of dollars to study your opponents.

That bluff in the beginning of the video vs barry was the right play but vs the wrong player. I have a feeling he's the spot in the game that the game is built around. Not the best guy to bluff. I see this so often with young players, they just don't realize it's better to let hands go vs certain players and keep them stuck instead of fighting for every hand. I've seen players so stuck they should have been on suicide watch, and then a young hot shot tries to bluff them and the fish makes the call 100% believing they will lose, fish gets unstuck, and what was a great game instantly becomes a dead table after the fish tries to preserve his break even night.
