Rideshare companies first of all creating big time clutter for used vehicles, drivers are driving double or triple the mileage to make a single money which they can make in taxi by kms and in last five years car dealerships are full of junk car which are driven between 150000 to 200000 and nobody wants to buy them and these are those cars which are traded in by uber drivers. Second why cities are scared of bringing out same amount of taxis on road like uber and give them a right to drive same like uber and keep all the money they make . Why cities doesn't wana do that and it will keep money in your city also 100 %

Don't listen to Lyft, when he says that they are going to leave the city of Minneapolis. Uber and Lyft would not dare to lose such a large profit market. What they say is only a trick, and a threat, but if in the end they decide to leave, let them leave, there are many entrepreneurs who want that market, in addition the taxi system would return, and that's where the money for the driver is. Gig economy drivers, don't be scared, by those thieves who own the monopoly of ride shares.

The mayor is receiving payment from Uber and Lyft. These ride-share companies are likely to remain permanent fixtures in all of our cities. Alternatively, consider hiring private drivers who operate independently, just like those employed by Uber and Lyft. However, with this option, there is no middleman deducting a significant portion (75%) of the fare. Instead, drivers receive 25% of the proceeds, which is not reasonable considering the expenses they bear, such as car ownership, time dedicated to driving, and insurance costs. Although Uber and Lyft enjoy the advantage of bulk purchasing power and claim to pass on these savings to drivers, the reality is that drivers end up paying significantly higher rates for insurance coverage.

  • @Thejikarim
    @Thejikarim 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

It is intriguing how you suggest that Uber and Lyft do not personally engage with the average driver seeking assistance, hence establishing the notion of being disconnected. How can one possibly endorse a five-dollar ride as per your assertion, when the actual cost, which they compensate us, is $2.52 for a five-mile distance? Allow me to express my incredulity at this situation.

The measure requires ride-hailing companies to pay each driver at least $1.40 per mile and $0.51 per minute for the time spent transporting a rider - or $5 per ride, whichever is greater - excluding tips. This only applies to the portion of the ride within the city.
The formula intends to ensure drivers are paid the Minneapolis minimum wage equivalent of $15.57 an hour.

Well, they ended up with the taxi system, at first it was very good for the driver, but now it's a full-handed robbery. Leave something to the poor taxi drivers. Uber Lyft and annexes ended up destroying the business and now the owners of cars by line don't even have anything to eat. And what little there is, when there is a miserable trip of 5 pesos per kilometer they fight it like honey bees.
Those owners of Uber and Lyft throw a piece of rotten meat and the puppies arrive to fight for the piece. Although the allegory is very bad, this is how the managers of those companies look at the driver. It hurts that it's like that.
But drivers wake up from that dream, that they are going to get rich working for that usurers, that they only have them in a modern slavery, giving them challenges, where do they come from?
Of the same money that is stolen from you.
They should be intelligent and not be bribed for 10 pesos for 10 trips, use their capacity for reasoning and force that Dara CEO of Uber to treat them humanely. The car must win the same as the driver. But if they settle for crumbs, that's what Uncle Anacleto's pure nieces are going to give them. But if they put on trout and turn off the APPS

Well there is a psychological component here , I put it this way , Uber and Lyft did what drug dealers do , go around and give drug for free and get people hooked and then they can do whatever they want , we are ll addicted to the apps , you as a rider are not willing to go back to the traditional way of moving in taxis and give up true apps , we drivers like quick cash every day doing ride share and it’s not like a drivers will get a job tomorrow and we have families to feed , so the apps are not going to leave the gold mine cause that’s what it is a gold mine, they are making millions of the back of drivers and over charging passengers

Uber and Lyft out of City

  • @randomshortshq2434

Uber and Lyft are so cheap. They profit millions annually, but are too cheap to pay drivers a fair livable wage, so when an ordinance is passed.. they figure.. oh.. well we’ll just leave, bc that’ll keep and put more money in our own pockets.
Honestly, if every city and state had ordinances like the one they just passed.. it would force Uber and Lyft to pay a fair livable wage. If they aren’t down for it out of greed, then it’ll simply force them out of business, which quite frankly wouldn’t be a bad idea either. Sometimes business owners need to fall down and get back up once they’ve had the reality check they so desperately needed.

Mr. Mayor, your statement appears contradictory when considering the information provided and your claim that low-income individuals are utilizing Uber and Lyft, thereby impacting visitors to our state. Moreover, it raises questions regarding whether businesses with executives also rely on these platforms. It is imperative that we address the potential influence of financial contributions from Uber and Lyft on your perspective.
This will never stop helping the needy people, or for that matter, the people with vouchers

I was fine doing this rideshare gig until you assholes got involved with it. Now I'm going to probably be out of a job. I have been doing this for 8 years, and yes, the companies take advantage of us, especially on longer trips. The problem is the government getting involved with things they shouldn't be involved in. Thanks for possibly putting me out of work now. I can't stand working for other people, and I love the freedom you have as a gig driver. Uber was going to give us $1.17 per mile and $0.39 a minute. The drivers who are complaining should have taken the offer. I make more than $15 an hr it's more like $25 to $35 depending on the day and time.

Increases in pay will ultimately cause congestion. There will be too many drivers seeking fares on the road. What ride share companies need to do is create employees to limit congestion. The government should stay out of controlled pricing. Make ride share companies' workers employees.

That should be after they keep their 20%. Minimum base fare should be $13 to start. That's what it was when they first launched in NJ in 2014-2015 and $2.78/mile $0.26/minute Then after 6 months Lyft announced rate cut by -$1 to $1.78/mile and $0.08/minute and Uber followed suit matching the prices. With 7 years and 32,000 trips/rides given in Minnesota I support the Mayor - We need balance for all three parties The riders , driver and yes Uber/Lyft ... Right now if you know how to really work this business their is rides 24/7 and like last night I made $343 and can make that any given day with no problem ...What can't drivers hear ? Double the rate of pay is more then enough . Yet if you go to far and things get out of balance rider will move on and even if Uber or Lyft would stay they would have to cut hundreds of driver off , No worries thow my Taxi friends are ready to take advantage and lower their fares . Just my thoughts Cheers

Bet it took 12+ hrs to make that $343 and $50 goes to gas. You would’ve made $400 plus if uber/ lyft didn’t take 60% or more from what the customer paid. That’s why uber/lyft don’t show you how much the customer paid anymore
