I mean, he just makes us feel all the deaths intended and casually says ‘sacrifice X to bring Y’ and this is also the first time (atleast for me) to see someone use sticky barb. Which is why loss of sticky barb is definitely more emotional.
Freezai last nuzlocke: I will name my pokemon numbers, as they are simply tools to an end goal Freezai this nuzlocke: I will name my pokemon after my patreons, for a different reason.
Sucker Geo was very fun in Little Cup to catch people off guard. Have a Sturdy Geodude with Custap berry for priority-- get put to Sturdy but kill the attacker, then typically Earthquake the next thing too with priority they didn't expect, and then chip a third final thing (or kill, depending on what they brought in) with Sucker Punch was a highlight of some earlier gen LC games for me.
Dude you're my favorite nuzlocker and these "without evolution" nuzlockes are the coolest thing I've ever seen done in a Pokemon game. The amount of in depth strategies you... Absolutely amazing stuff and very unique. I was the guy in the last nuzlocke video that asked if you'd do a Platinum one not sure if you seen the comment or not but so cool to see that you did this run!
The sticky barb strats were so clean and my favorite because of the level of difficulty. Not only do you have to plan taking a hit, you have to get hit by a contact move and THEN time it perfectly to kill the other mon with a physical move, if you're even one turn off you lose the sticky barb. You'd made it look easy
I like how GameFreak did their best to up the difficulty in those games, but not once did they think to make the AI switch out when hit with something like Yawn or Ghost-type Curse. RBY Agatha can be smarter than this on occasion.
Furthermore, Freezai also used the fact that Pokémon switch on Perish Song to actually Perish Song the important Metagross instead of a less useful Pokémon.
The preparation for this run is massive. I just wiped on the E4 in my first full nuzlocke of Platinum. So seeing you own this with all baby Pokémon let’s me know how much more I have to learn. Love the content
Foresight negating evasion was something I NEVER knew about. Something to keep in mind if they still have that effect in later games. Thank you very much.
These Nuzlocke videos are sooo fun to watch! Apart from the obviously really cool Light Ball strategy, I liked the Imprison Bronzor beating its own evolution very much :D
It was cool to see a normally unused item in Sticky Barb be put to such great effect in this run. I always love seeing these insanely creative strategies and look forward to the gen 5 run :)
Really, really loving this littlelock series. I hope you'll do a littlelock in BW next. It should be fun as it has some really good 1st stage mons like Archen, Mienfoo, Scraggy, Pawniard, Ferroseed. And Eviolite should make things a little easier too.
There'd also be things like gen V sturdy for pivoting, and since the E4/Ghetsis fights are at a pretty low level relative to other games champs it should make it a bit easier. Although I imagine having explosion and self-destruct only doing half as much damage will hurt certain strats.
As someone who is relatively new to Nuzlockes and just learning more complicated strategies, this was legit. Seriously, it was really awesome seing how you did this.
nuzlocke content on youtube has become so repetitive and uninspired recently, but you’ve breathed new life into it with more challenging and more interesting runs at a high level of play. these last few videos have been really good, i hope to see a gen 5 one soon as it’s my favourite gen :)
22:41 I guess the AI doesn't understand Trick Room, hence not sending in Gallade earlier? Pretty interesting. I wonder what you would have done without Bronzor. Even if you sacrifice so many of them, I like how varied your teams & thus, runs end up being. Great run & analysis video! Thanks for uploading!
Gen 4 AI calls assist from the fainted pokemon and sees which move does the most damage (not checking STAB) and then sends out the mon with that move, Drxx had a video on it that was p good.
Dude your knowledge and skill of this game is incredible. And your narrative/explanation of the situation makes it so easy to follow along Great video. Please continue these (and your other analysis videos)!
Great video! I hadn't been interested in nuzzlock content before, since a lot of the time it boils down to TH-camrs shouting at pokémon deaths, but your littlelocks are just on another level.
i love how the ghastly is named valently, so when he fled from giritina it almost looked like "Valiantly fled with its Smoke Ball!" which i think its absolutely hilarious and monty python-esc

I really loved the Sticky Barb plays. I'm really glad I checked out your Nuzlocke stuff a while ago coming from competitive cause it's super entertaining. :) Impressive stuff as always.
I think Nuzlockes are generally kind of boring but you are an absolute madlad with your competitive pokemans strategies and willingness to sacrifice any tool once it has served its purpose. It is truly wonderful
I’ve been considering streaming a run like this. I didn’t realize the level of strats needed to get through platinum with these rules compared to other gens. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
I absolutely love the nuzlocke content. Very interesting challenges and we can tell you know a lot about what you’re doing. I love the explanations and strats you use and foresight for what you need late game. I would encourage you in the future to try out emerald kaizo- you would destroy that game. That edging joke too lmao
You are cracked at nuzlockes man. Well done for the win! You deserve it for your creativity with strategies. I would have never knew about fling light ball if it wasn't for you :)
This video is good teaching two things: 1. Gastly is absurdly powerful for a first form Pokémon. Paired with an item like specs, it's can definitely used against very powerful mons with good odds of winning. 2. Trick room is a game changer if played right. Makes that many not so useful Pokémon into complete beasts due do how it benefit slow but powerful/bulky Pokémon.
I genuinely didn’t know Foresight did something other than making Normal and Fighting moves but Ghost types, so that was really cool to find out! Also that Fling + Light Ball play was awesome And I really want to know how you beat Mars
What is most astonishing to me is the fact that you kept in mind how the AI worked in the fight against Phantine, which means that you checked everything carefully. I know for a fact that I would have completely forgotten how the burn would infulence the AI's choice in that situation
That Lucian strategy with the specifically calculated Trick Room-struggle-switch out-kill has to be the most insane master plan I've ever seen in my life I did not know such a thing could be done in Pokémon
Will say everything you do is insane. I appreciate the hard work you put into the prep and withholding the fling light ball part was just an incredible twist. Love the content man. Hoping your smogon tournament team kills it. You motivate me to nuzlocke emerald kaizo on attempt 50ish currently. Struggling lmao.
Really cool stuff! I've seen the Fling + Light Ball interaction before (in the Furret-only tournament lmao), never seen Sticky Barb used though! Having to get it back every single time sounds like a pain...
Your Littlelockes inspired me to start my own XY LittleLocke. So far I’ve beaten the 1st gym. If you ever consider doing XY, I’d be interested in what strategies you think of. Update: 2nd gym down and almost lost the run to a Hawlucha in Glistening cave losing important Pokémon for the 3rd and 4th gyms. Jazz the Combee needs to carry me in the next 2 gyms…
13:06 what's funny about this fight is that in min battles, you actually have a level 20ish Shieldon KO the Staraptor by itself 'cause of how bad that Staraptor is.
I usually average the levels of the gym leader's pokemon in order for the ace to out level my team cause I feel that it makes the ace stand out more. I also use a rule that of my pokemon go above the cap, it cannot be used EVEN if it levels up during battle, in that case I have to swap it out for a different mon (this is to specifically prevent edging and make sweeping with a single mon harder.) It also feels like cheating the level cap if after I ko the first gym leader mon my pokemon is then immediately above the level cap I set. Like I set a level cap for a reason, I should have to stick with it even mid-battle.
I love how the thumbnail still has the "yes" in massive bold green, but the title has changed so it's no longer a "can you beat" so new viewers will be confused
SMALL CORRECTION: Stench does not flinch in gen 4, whoops.
Night Slash critical is still something i have to play around so the strategy would probably be the same, but yea i played around something that didn't exist
I just saw that comment correcting you bruh
I was gonna comment it right now, I was surprised how that one flied by considering your immense knowledge.

Someone has not played gen 4 UU. Double ghost is a strat there due to foresight + rapid spin.

It's a no-win for GameFreak lol. In PC's Level-1 Platinum run he abused the fact that the AI *does* switch on Perish Song to win a ton of the fights.
Furthermore, Freezai also used the fact that Pokémon switch on Perish Song to actually Perish Song the important Metagross instead of a less useful Pokémon.
That last fight was so cool. I love that you ended it on explosion. That geodude put in some work in that run

I like this video. No beginning “THIS IS CRAZY GUYS INSANE” just pure information and content.
Big brain strats as always. Also cool to see the Houndour name, until it became Sticky Barb strategy fodder 😂
