dragon age is not a crpg franchise wtf... Even origins is a modern version of the classics Baldurs Gate from Bioware and Obsidian... Like every game of the saga veilguard search to increase the modernivity of its gameplay and in fact i think that veilguard combat will be the best of the franchise for sure, you want to play a game like wow (origins gameplay) ok play wow... Your hypocresy knows no limits, you ask for classic gameplay because you have played Baldurs Gate 3 but you have not played a CRPG in your life and 80% of those who have played BG3 have not played games like solasta, pathfinder, pillars of eternity in their entire lives XD
1. DA is undoubtedly a CRPG, and Obsidian has no hand in any BG game. 2. DA’s constant reimagining over 15 years isn’t innovation as much as a symptom of BioWare’s creative decline. Instead of establishing a clear vision, they've chased trends, losing the distinctive touch that once defined them. 3. Combat is bound to be better, given 9 years of technological advances and ample games to draw from. Veilguard’s God of War/ME-inspired combat is flashy but lacks the grit and clarity, with busy graphics detracting from impact. 4. There's a plethora of issues with the game beyond combat. Still, I hope this is Bioware returning to form somewhat.
was a fan of DA from the beggining...bought games, dlc, novels, comix..now im finished..if ever ill buy it on sale or used.. but one thing will probably stop me...i wanted an rpg..not action sht...
For the devs, the free copies to journalists, shippers, and cosplayers thats who because they will always talk about how they never do combat just romances and story-
@@trace40 after you play, write how u felt about it...but sincere...every one can have an opinion....after the netflix witcher fiasco i stopped blindly going into a franchise that was wokefied...
They changed Varric to have brunette-ish hair. He is Blonde. They destroyed Bianca for shock value which is just insulting(One of the gameplay trailers shows this). They made the Darkspawn into caricatures where as in DAO they were shown to be twisted perversions of the sentient races, Hurlocks/Humans, Genlocks/Dwarves, Shrieker/Elves and Qunari/Ogres. They uglified Morrigan and Scout Harding. They turned Qunari into discount D&D Tieflings with a smooth forehead. They purpled Dragon Age; a Dark Fantasy, brutal world. I don't know about you, but I ain't hyped about it.
Any time I hear a reviewer say they were flown out and their expenses were paid for I immediately assume their opinion is compromised, it isn't always the case but like you said they need to keep in good graces with these companies.
Yeah, of the literal dozens of live gameplay reviewers, I can count on one hand with fingers left over how many actually sound authentic. Two. Two sound authentic and express concerns. Two. Of ALL the people talking about their "unpaid" experience playing the game. There's no way anyone will convince me that the other 99% had absolutely nothing negative to note. BG3 and DA:O are my favourite games of all time. I've played both for literal THOUSANDS of hours, and I STILL have constructive criticism. Nothing will convince me these guys didn't see a SINGLE thing in 7 hours that made them think "oh, bummer".
Its not just staying in good graces. When people take you someplace and show you a good time your mindset is in the place to like things they show you. When you again play it at home you might have a different take, but they keep you in a place where everything is nice, good food, entertainment, oh play this game for a few hours now that you are hyped and wired to like things.
@@Ahglock Yep, it's called love bombing. Abusive partners and cult leaders use the SAME tactics to keep their victims under control - love bombing and gaslighting seem to be staples of BioWare marketing this time around, and they're being openly abusive when their tactics fail to work. It's fucking disgusting. Never again. The truly depressing thing, is that once you've escaped from a cult or an abusive relationship you can recognise it immediately... Seeing SO many people fall for this shit is incredibly sad. They're gagging to throw money and affection at people who are being openly abusive to their most loyal/consistent customers.
You guys really pick and choose what games to use this logic on. When Larian flew reviewers out for BG3 I didn't hear anybody bring up this logic. No game company is going to ask reviewers to pay out of pocket. Depending on where they're coming from that could cost thousands, especially if you're going to be staying in a major city in America. The hotels aren't cheap.
@@tyler-hp7oq Well, that's easy... Larian didn't ask anyone to lie for them, didn't lie to their influencer contacts, and had a completely transparent purchased early access for over 12 months. They literally had nothing to hide and nobody felt obligated to lie for them... 🤷
@@The_Primary_Axiomsomeone doesn't agree with your opinion, therefore they must be lying. No one has provided any evidence that his review is influenced in any way it's all speculation based on. I just don't like the fact that he was flown out. What about the TH-camr skill up? He also was a part of the review but he paid for all of his own expenses and guess what? He still liked the game. How do you explain that person? Is he also lying for the non-existent benefits of him paying for everything himself?
@@Grimjr7 Like who? Who is talking positive about it that is a trustworthy ? Mr Matty admitted being flown out dude. All the ones that have said it’s good are either getting paid, have been flown out given codes, have been flown out and haven’t said anything, or they are shills. Also, do you not have eyes? Lol. You do realize what you’re looking at right? How could you possibly look at this game and think to yourself yea this looks amazing. I look at a game like this and it reminds me of everything that’s wrong with Western AAA gaming in one game. I mean it’s w0k3 factor four.
Never take anything that Matty says seriously , the dude has been bought and paid for , for years now , if i recall correctly he defended Fallout 76 when it came out
Well when he was not living out of TH-cam stuff he was nice and honest but when you decide to go full time, you need to make money, everything has to be insane, massive, incredible. You can't afford to be late with reviews, you need to be chosen, you need to be the good boy you can rely on to advertise your crap. And this is the same for all wannabe great youtubers that need desperately to progress, those who already have got their share can be more critical like Asmongold for example.
People that say "move on" because Origins is old, forget that Baldurs Gate 3 was basically the isometric RPG with gameplay and mechanics which are even older than Origins.
Bg3 is still getting patched a year later. Game been broke and reworked a million. Literally paid 70 bux to play test a game for 8 months. Complete missing quest lines. Broken everything
@@Pikaru-c4u Yea i like bg3 but i got to admit it has a lot of bugs and technical issues but didnt get as much flak as Cyberpunk which i didnt find nearly as buggy as bg3
Yeah I don't think this is a good example cause a lot of people complained about bg3 battles not being in real time and that it was just a divinity original sin 3 and had nothing to do with the 20 year old games Turned out the game was good in the end and some people moved on Not saying it's a good or a bad thing, it's just the way it is
Not only BG3. They also did exceptional Divinity OS2. Also, obsidian did Tyranny, game where playing good characters suck and really complicated, game forces you to be evil
Yeah its not "toxic positivity" - these guys were paid by Bioware to review it. Even the ones who paid their own way will not be negative because they depend on companies like bioware continuing to give them reviews and eaarly access. It was the same with Starfield and Bethesda - I paid for early access gamepass - and it was BORING. Noone could tell me that because they were bought and paid for or owe the career to playing nice with these companies

They wouldn’t do that if they knew the person they’re flying out is going to give them a bad review/ be honest,And a reviewer won’t trash talk a company that is willing to give me them this much access to early content

Saw some gameplay. The dialogue is banal trash. Just basic statements and validation. It was grating- I'd be aggravated just trying to play it. Meanwhile Origins: couldn't wait to hear more from the characters, deep lore story. The lesson Bioware learned was to dumb everything down. Origins had amazing tactical combat options for each team member, class, race. So many more spells. So many more talents and builds.
I liked the Hinterlands. The pay is being able to create content for clicks, and probably a free copy. Everyone flown out all repeat the same talking points without much deviation.
kinda like listening to the media scripts repeat the exact same script they all received at 4 a.m. across all channels and locales. Funny how all those corps are in lock-step with each other.
All I wanted was to pick up where Trespasser left off... because it left us on a cliff hanger. This isn't rocket science! Instead, this... attempt at a bubble-gum reboot of the franchise. Urg.
@@TrainingDummiesYT The guy was always a corporate shill. He made a video crying that everyone who saw Fallout 4 as a bad game was being disrespectful.
Thank you for sticking up for the Hinterlands. I did not love Inquisition, but the world in that game was wonderful to explore and the best part of the game, and people with obvious corporate agendas are using it as an excuse to railroad players now in Veilguard.
The only 'problem' I had with the Hinterlands is the fact that a lot of people like to 100% an area before moving on - myself included - and that area was just so big, especially for the first area of the game. A lot people felt like they were stuck - though a handful of areas in the Hinterlands really required you to be higher levels, which is the only reason I moved on earlier. I think the game developers wanted players to kind of go back and forth throughout the game but that's not how everyone plays.
@@mdallie763 They absolutely did, and the first time I played it, until I reached the areas I clearly wasn't supposed to be in, I also spent way too long there, and got frustrated, especially as the enemies respawn so quickly. I definitely have issues with the game. But finding ancient caves, lighting magic torches, exploring locations previously only described in codex entries, it was the one part of Inquisition that I truly loved. That will be completely removed in Veilguard, there will be no exploration. So they had better deliver on story, because I already know I dislike/am ambivalent towards the characters and action-based combat only goes so far with me.
@@mdallie763 I think it's because a lot of DA players in general are various shades of completionist, especially since we are familiar with BioWare's style of gameplay/ narrative mix wherein if you fail to properly explore an area and/or exhaust all of the dialogue points, you might miss out or lock yourself out in a possibel quest/choice - so seeing how vast the Hinterlands was, especially for someone like me who was a completionist, can be pretty exhausting when the area is pretty much the whole game in miniscule (fetch quests, collectibles, narrative-choices, etc.)
I personally don’t really like open worlds. I didn’t really spend a whole lot of time in the different areas of inquisition because it felt like grinding to me and I got bored very quickly. So once I had the influence I needed I just went ahead to the main quest. So the fact that they are making it more linear is something I’m pretty ok with honestly.
Matty's preview videos are always lies, he played Redfall early and gave it a positive preview. Other straight out bad and broken games like Outlaws get the same treatment.
He should be called "MrMattyShills", he's the king of toxic positivity. When Todd gives you an interview or a preview copy, you should know that you failed your job as a TH-camr, consumer or fan.
OOoooh the "Hinterlands problem"... Gods this party line is giving me the shits. The Hinterlands WASN"T A PROBLEM!! Yes it was often empty... it was SUPPOSED TO BE!! It was a farming area in the middle of a freaking WAR!!! That was the point! Also, they conveniently forget that a LOT of us LOVED the shards. Totally agree about the 'zero bad to say' pattern too. Even BG3 - the MOST celebrated game in a decade - had PLENTY of criticism after every infodump and panel from hell. I'm getting incredibly shat off with the "oh I wasn't paid" BS too. They got transport paid for, they got accommodation paid for (IE paid working holiday) and they got 'paid' in EXPOSURE. This actually pisses me off more than if they'd actually been paid with money, because it actually increases the requirement to be complimentary so they DO get paid in future previews. The stakes are raised exponentially if the payment wasn't "official". It's like paying by commission. You're FORCED to SELL the 'product' rather than just going your damn job. I also want to now about these "consequences' because Companions being bruised when healing exists is NOT what I consider a consequence. It's a cosmetic guilt trip because we 'let a pretty girly get bruised up'. If there are health pots in my bag, fuck off with that shit. LET ME HEAL THEM!! Things I WANT to know about before I even CONSIDER buying, that literally NOBODY is talking about: - How do button combos work, and how do they feel in actual gameplay - What the UI looks like with the 'helpers' (AKA glitter spam) turned off - What the 'extensive accessibility' options look like, and WHO they are supposed to be making the game accessible for. Who are you facilitating accessible gameplay for? Migraines? Epilepsy? Neurodivergence (clearly not, because the UI is EXTREMELY overwhelming)? - How many UNIQUE endings? - Can we do solo runs? - Are we hobbled if we DON"T take the recommended companions? - HOW MANY button combos are there for each class? Are they different combinations of buttons for each different class/weapon type? How difficult will it be for me to learn this new gameplay mechanic that I universally despise?! - What features and options do God Mode and the most difficult setting have? - Why did the devs and art team decide to make the freaking heads so huge and the shoulders so small compared to the character height? Explain this so we don't keep assuming the entire team are just fucking inept!! - How many flashy hypercolour markers can we turn off? - Is there a way to change the UI and what would that look like if you can? - If "healing is back in the game" SHOW US WHAT THAT LOOKS LIKE!! (they can't, because it's almost certainly NOT back. It's a companion reputation perk as far as I can tell). All of this stuff is actually important enough for a lot of people, that our decision whether to buy the game or not is on the line with the answers. I believe they are obfuscating, avoiding and outright refusing to address these points BECAUSE they KNOW we won't like the answers. I can't think of another reason why these questions come up over and over in the Q&A's and comments of their vids, but they ALL refuse to address them. Even the (very) few less biased reviewers won't answer those questions. It's infuriating. And you're totally right, I don't want to "wait until after the intro", or "get used to it" or "wait until the skill tree comes online"... I want to be fucking CAPTIVATED the second the FIRST SCENE begins. I WAS with BG3, with ME1 and 2, with Pathfinder, with DA-fucking-O!!! THe SECOND I heard that first note of music in DA:O I was hooked. THAT"S what I want. Fuck 'getting used to it'.
@@nuhre Yes!! I makes me irrationally angry they used THAT situation with THOSE characters to make a "you're an asshole" point about the player character. It's just so nonsensical. I guess they're just not 'close enough' to Rook at that point to avoid horrific pain for a week or two of tromping around the wilderness 🤦
The hinterlands was NOT designed to be empty, they had other quests they wanted to program into the zone as a followup from a previous quest they just never had to time to fill it in.
The fact that the main selling point they are touting for the game is the character creator tells me that was the only thing they put any effort on. So I come away with the message that they only cared about a superficial aspect of the game and most likely everything else (that I care about) is shit.
They heard people complain about the Hinterlands and responded by cutting open worlds all together. Over a decade ago, they heard people complain about the Mako in Mass Effect and responded by cutting planetary exploration all together. Guys, I'm thinking Bioware... IS BACK, BABY!
Only reason hinterland sucked wasn't the size but the poor quality sporadic spew of side quests in an overworld with nothing in it. barely enemies or distinguishing landmarks. Rare npc's to talk too if you go out of your way. No duh it wasn't fun but this was an issue for most of the maps.
Truth be told , I also disliked the Hinterlands. TBH, that part of DA:I felt like a discount version of Skyrim. DA2 took a lot of flak. Maybe too much, because the core of the game (the story and the characters) was indeed good, and the "greek tragedy/retelling" angle to the story was very well made. It just got pushed into production too quickly, and seemed unfinished for that reason. Sadly,. Bioware (and EA) drew the wrong conclusions from that, and steered totally counter; with the DA:I installment.
@@doctorogre1777 We want good writing back, and true origins stories like from Dragon Age Origins. We want a game made from love, and not something that was pushed out because of shareholders, not that hard.
They are trying to pull the "We arent going to do DLC because its a full game" when we all know they aren't going to do DLC because this game is going to faiI and they don't want to look dmb for promising DLCs when a company won't get funding for DLCs if the game fails, so they are just trying to avoid looking dmb when the game fails, thats all
The ambiguous wording is hilarious: "It could take weeks" to finish the game. Is that 10 min per day? 4h per day? They are saying things without actually saying anything. 😆 And giving us an answer about different end game endings is a good point, would be an indicator of actual meaningful choices and not just "X NPC does not like you anymore" or "a building got destroyed". My guess is that reputation indicates how many NPCs will help you in the final fight, like "Gather your allies" in BG3, the question is how impactful is that for the story or it's just about having meat shield on the board.
to be slightly fair to them. the hair physics do seem a lot better than Inquisition's. There was like only 1 or 2 female hairstyles I liked in DAI, out of the various shades of bald.
I agree with that. I wish decisions I made could hurt my character or my companions. Dragon Age: Origins did that really well. I remember leaving for the Circle to get help, but I guess I took too long, and when I got back, the town was destroyed and people had died. After beating the game, I had to play again to find a way to save everyone. ❤
YEs! DA:O did it well, BG3 too. I remember the first time I ran to get the Waukeen's Rest waypoint them did other stuff until I got the Create Water spell. I got back a few hours later, and everyone was dead! THAT is a consequence! A few perma-bruises when healing pots exist is a token guilt trip.
"No one is asking for Origins 2" This exactly. We don't want a carbon copy. Origins is the standard which they should be surpassing, not falling behind. Like the sequels should build and improve off the original not fail and be a worse bastardization of it. The only thing I've like or enjoyed from the devs is them saying that Trespasser was central to DAI storyline that is lowkey should have been in the base game. But that's like.. obvious.
I just found your channel earlier today, and i love it. Your blunt, and you tell it like it is. I can't wait to see your channel grow, and thanks for not being a sellout.
Mr.matty plays is a vegan SB who has been shilling since fallout4, hes always been disingenuous and only cares about money. If you have seen any of his livestreams he gets called out for being a shill and replies with "the game looks good! Im sick of all the toxicity and blind hating im gonna start banning people"
there is a reviewer that i generally take as not bought and paid for, but there is just this weird overly positive feeling hes been promoting for the game for like 7+ months. he recently came out and admitted he's been playing early builds for months. which is interesting. maybe it is generally fun to him, but EVERYTHING they have shown looks pretty off putting to sooooo many people. and the trust me bro i played it and liked it, just doesnt feel right when the promos are terribad
Just want to say that im so glad i found this channel! You say all the things I'm thinking and so much more. You dont sugar coat shit and that is so refreshing now a days. Also dont know if you've seen it but there is a video about how the characters heads are too big. I think it's titled Veilgaurd big head mode or something like that.
I still remember his review of Cyberpunk, then the game came out in the state we all know of, that was so bad and there was so much reactions that he was forced to make excuses later saying that he had been a bit too much optimistic!
I’m going to be honest: It really seems like EA is throwing serious money at influencers, even some of the more critical ones, who now appear to be shilling for the game. What's suspicious is how they all seem to follow the same script. It feels fishy. Personally, I think the game looks bad, but I won’t rule out that it could still be successful or even “good.” Still, it all seems very off to me, and it's weird to witness... am I wrong? 😑
With good games the more you look at them, the better they feel. With bad games, the more you look at them, the worse they feel. You are not wrong, I would even say the game was not finished when they showed it to us, one month before official release! They most certainly are trying to hide flaws. Like the neon flash extravaganza hides below par animations, someone showed frame by frame how weapons, even body parts disappear during combat 😂
Every time I level up in Skyrim I think of the ending of Mass Effect 3. Instead of the attributes of classic Elder Scrolls, you just choose blue, green, or red. Sad lol.
"I'm not 100% a c.UNt. I know I sound like one, I know I sometimes look like one" "look like one" Lol, What did she mean by this? Also, I'm not against black people and asians in fantasy games. I'm black. But do it like Elder Scrolls. Black people come from Redguardlandia. Do it like Final Fantasy 14. Japanese come from Japonia. Black people and asians in Dragon Age just randomly popped into existence one day from nowhere. And they glare at you and call you a bigot for making small talk and asking where they're from.
But that would mean actually trying to write a good story/interesting characters! All they want/need is checking boxes. Same with all the LGBT stuff (I'm gay myself, so... yeah, got a bone to pick with these people, too.)
See I've been thinking to myself if elves existed in real life would they have soley elven feature or would there skin tones and facial features be determined by their location, climate, and etc.
Oh my dear did you see this UI guy (loreworkz I believe he is called) he redid the visual clutter that is part of the gameplay, showing how badly the visual ques, the wheel and stuff is designed. It also explained my friggin migraine that I got from just watching Luality's vid on it.
@@austinmaxie3096 Depends on the elves, I'd say. Wouldn't make sense for Tolkien elves. The elves in DA are nothing like the elves in LOTR, though, and play by very different rules, so I'd say it's possible.
This is the second video of yours that I've seen, you are just fantastic!😂 Literally just asking all the right questions, if only they invited you to play.
The Hinterlands was the perfect playground to get to know the game mechanics and discover some lore about the world setting the stage as it where. The Hinterlands prepared you for the story and combat to come. There where literally 3 fetch quest, get some blankets/food and herbs. All the other quests had a little story attached to it.
thank god for people such as this youtuber that has done this video.. thank honest to god. so flipping happy that i came across this video.. she has earned herself a sub and a like.. everything she says hits the nail on its head.
Thanks for reacting to these videos, because I had a feeling everyone was given a script but I couldn't bring myself to sit through the videos. I wish I was wrong now...
My issue is these companies forget who made them lots of money. It’s not about what we want it’s about you the creator made a great series then you show us that we don’t matter and the story you use to be passionate about our doesn’t matter. You assume we will eat up anything you make but if you’re destroying the story we loved to come home from work and drown ourselves into then this is their fault not ours. They forget we grew up and want more gritty games more adult themes. We love dragon age but when you dumb it down to a Fortnite style and only give us 3 options from all the previous games shows that BioWare doesn’t care about who made them rich!!! This goes for every big company out there! It forgets who made them rich and then they (the company) tried to tell us what we should like! No!!! Start being passionate about your work! Like larian studios,bg3 that was love! They made divinity original sin and never walked away from who they are
its not Dragon Age anymore even the gameplay doesn't match up why the fuck is there a magic captain America shield throw combo. Why is there a massive arrow AOE with a giant arrow that explodes??? at least inquisition stayed a little within reason for the magic. These attacks are WAYYY too flowy its a Final FANTASY game now if this was a spin off I'd give a pass but this is not Dragon Age
I dislike this game, the combat, the character models, the art style and the pathetic creative vampires feeding off the IP they could not possibly write themselves (yes I'm aware one of the writers still remains, but he did not create DA, that was David Gaider). God, I miss the old BioWare.
I loved DA:O and also DA:I WolfheartFPS was also invited, i trust more in him because he was skeptical at the end. Matty --> sellout, was invited and paid... Has a interview with Corinne... BIG Red flag.
It's true. A friend of mine works for our local branch of IGN and they often get, basically script, of what they need to say. Of course because the articles are published in our native language they just completely ignore this and write what they actually think. I asked him why they are going along with such scheme and his reply was simply "it's free shit". Oh and this guys are legit old school gamers, I've known most of them for like 15+ years. They actually love to take piss at Ubisoft (even before that was cool), I remember my write poked fun at them when Warcraft 3 Refunded came out and he posted screenshot of very blurry, messy textures from that game with caption "Who made this, Ubisoft?"
'Bioware is back, baby!' 'I had a blast' 'Dragon Age is fixed' 'Mass Effect 2 moments' all similar or word for word talking points that other early reviewers are saying. Like a script. This 💩 is more forced than an audition with Harvey Winstein. Glad you're calling it out!
After years of drip feeding teasers of teasers in between stretches of complete silence; after a title change and plot pivot from the main hook (Solas as the villain); after an excessive, rushed, and spoiler filled single 3-month marketing season; with a lackluster art direction clashing with previous entries; with gameplay reveals with the most floaty, 'bullet sponge,' filler looking "action" combat; all that dried up my interest in this game completely, then for the final straw, to say that no choices carry over or matter across the entire series except 3 . . The promise of the series was choices and consequences, carrying throughout every game. Often these amounted to codex changes, cameo swaps, alternate dialogue; often just cosmetic changes at the end of the day, but even those drastically improved immersion, and connection to the world that you were shaping. And when the change was major, it was so impactful. For them to not prioritize that to any degree, to discard it but for 3 insignificant scraps . . Why even bother making a Dragon Age sequel at that point? Cuz it looks like they just wanted to make an action combat dating sim.
MrMatty plays is the biggest possible consoomer I've ever seen. He just loves video games - to the point where he seems to have very little standards. I have no hate for him, but he's the ideal video game reviewer for big corporate game devs.
Im surprised people look back on Inquisition fondly now. I remember when it came out alot of people (like on v) regarded it as already woke, and this was before this was AS prominent as it is now.
I dropped matty over a year ago he sells out for money and product. They couldn't pay me a million to bullshit my people! He's been going downward a few years now !
As for possible DLC, I don't think Bioware is even considering it because this game is likely to flop and shut down the studio. People like Corinne Busche who are playing narcissistic on Veilguard to push their agenda may already be packing their boxes to leave their office as we speak. EA will probably keep a small team to follow up and do some post-launch fixes, and that will be the end of Bioware after that.
My favorite is they have a legacy fantasy world with magic that is literally tied to dreams and can cure physical wounds, but then they go with cosmetic surgery from the dark ages. What are we even doing here?
The Woke lunatics will, of course, review it as if it's the greatest thing since MarioKart, even if the game sucks. Gaming for them is all about The Agenda. It's all about the Cult of Sin intertwining their agenda within the gaming universe. Thank God gamers have seen through it and realize that good games don't push agendas - any agenda.
I’m about 90% sure the only person in the world that knows how to make a great speech is Princess Kate. Everyone else just uses twice as many words to say half as much if anything at all. You listen to Kate Middleton and she’s like heres the issue, heres some stats to prove it, this is my idea, this is why, this is how.
My experience with CRPG game, The one that have good story with multiple endings are usually self-contained story in one game play and done, in case of dragon age and mass effect the real deal is it's usually the final part of trilogy.
I’ve been saying for years that the moment a reviewer takes any kind of compensation, be it direct sponsorship, review copies, flying them out to events, they can’t be trusted to be honest with me.
The first finisher animation if you slow it down you can clearly see the enemy float away before the animation is complete so the character stabs into the ground because the enemy had already moved away honestly every animation I've seen so far has been bad
Another problem that I see in the game besides, well, everything in the game 😂, is that a lot of the people that are loving and praising the game are not even people that care about Dragon Age as whole. But obsessed people that care only about how their story of toxic romance with Solas ends. They don't care about gameplay, they don't care about Origins and DA2, they just care about Inquisition and/or their relationship with Solas (and/or the woke agenda too). And yet, these are the people that say that the people that is negative of the game are NOT real fans. 😂
Their obsession with mentioning the Hinterlands is so annoying. Yes, the first ever time I played Inquisition, I started getting bored while I was in the Hinterlands because I was trying to take care of the refugees there before I left to continue the main quest... because I thought that it would matter. I went and hunted 10 rams, found 5 random caches for blankets (???), did all sorts of things that the Inquisition scouts and soldiers should have done instead. The Hinterlands AREA itself was great, it was beautiful, I loved exploring it. What I hated were the dumb fetch quests and stuff without any story that you felt you had to do. In later playthroughs, I mostly just ignore like half of the sidequests in the game and it's so much more fun. Bioware learned the wrong f-ing lesson from Inquisition. It wasn't the open world that sucked, it was the quests.
I think the focus on character creation is a red herring. They know that the gaming community is onto their agenda and by pushing options in character creation it gives the impression that you can operate outside of a forced agenda. Long time fan of dragon age i didn't like the live action direction of inquisition and it seems they have doubled down. I don't understand why would they take a unique experience and forcefully make it mundane.
The Hinderlands was (to me ) a place to level up, gain money & gain power points & it really didn't take that long to run through 🤔 I don't understand why anyone would not take advantage of that & if you didn't want to, you could simply leave & move on 🤨
dragon age is not a crpg franchise wtf...
Tell me you never played on Nightmare, without telling me you never played on Nightmare...

SILENCE!

The truly depressing thing, is that once you've escaped from a cult or an abusive relationship you can recognise it immediately... Seeing SO many people fall for this shit is incredibly sad. You guys really pick and choose what games to use this logic on. When Larian flew reviewers out for BG3 I didn't hear anybody bring up this logic.
Origins is just such a good game, I replay it every year
The dialogue is so patronising, explaining stuff that's painfully obvious to anyone with a room temperature IQ.
Dialogue feels like a free Chat Gpt just after first prompt and never ever refined in the slightest.
I liked the Hinterlands. The pay is being able to create content for clicks, and probably a free copy. Everyone flown out all repeat the same talking points without much deviation.
Gotta get paid in those bear skins for armor crafting, and the bandit fortress cheese with the bannister vs the chief.
kinda like listening to the media scripts repeat the exact same script they all received at 4 a.m. across all channels and locales. Funny how all those corps are in lock-step with each other.
I also loved the Hinterlands

Things I WANT to know about before I even CONSIDER buying, that literally NOBODY is talking about:
- How do button combos work, and how do they feel in actual gameplay
- What the UI looks like with the 'helpers' (AKA glitter spam) turned off
- What the 'extensive accessibility' options look like, and WHO they are supposed to be making the game accessible for.
Right
The bruising thing is even funnier when you learn that Neve and Harding are two of our "healers".
Don't forget you must collect everyone regardless if you want them or not and you must watch their character ships as "progression"-
The hinterlands was NOT designed to be empty, they had other quests they wanted to program into the zone as a followup from a previous quest they just never had to time to fill it in.
The fact that the main selling point they are touting for the game is the character creator tells me that was the only thing they put any effort on. So I come away with the message that they only cared about a superficial aspect of the game and most likely everything else (that I care about) is shit.
Ah the infamous Hinterlands problem invented solely to avoid building an open-world because it's too much work and hard to debug lol

The ambiguous wording is hilarious: "It could take weeks" to finish the game. Is that 10 min per day? 4h per day? They are saying things without actually saying anything. 😆
And giving us an answer about different end game endings is a good point, would be an indicator of actual meaningful choices and not just "X NPC does not like you anymore" or "a building got destroyed".
My guess is that reputation indicates how many NPCs will help you in the final fight, like "Gather your allies" in BG3, the question is how impactful is that for the story or it's just about having meat shield on the board.

They made divinity original sin and never walked away from who they are
I actually like MrMattyPlays, even though I disagree with some of his takes. He seems like a genuine guy. Either way, great stuff, keep it up!
its not Dragon Age anymore even the gameplay doesn't match up why the fuck is there a magic captain America shield throw combo.
In Archetype Entertainment we trust.
@@nuhre You got that right.
I loved DA:O and also DA:I
WolfheartFPS was also invited, i trust more in him because he was skeptical at the end.
It's almost like they have really strict NDAs to follow. Allegedly.
That's not necessary true. Wolfheart was very critical towards the game .
Yes, his review seemed to be well balanced, with some good stuff but also not holding back about what he disliked. Very rare nowadays.
Just found your channel. Love your attitude and how real and based you are. Good video
Thanks for subbing!
I used to watched Matty but now he's just a shill, getting free stuff needs to like that game
If you are getting flown there your opinion is irrelevant. Period.
I dropped matty over a year ago he sells out for money and product. They couldn't pay me a million to bullshit my people! He's been going downward a few years now !
19:30 Expectations: Back to the roots. Reality: Only three data points from previous games are retained (only Trespasser DLC exactly)🙈🙈🙈
It's verbal diarrhea. Their target audience hasn't even played Inquisition. They don't care.
Man Flemeth can literally turn into a Dragon and Morrigan into giant insects, if they want they can probably change their appearance by magic.
"Origins was so long ago, it was 15 years ago"
Meanwhile Super Mario Bros is almost 40 years and lots of settings are still using today.
Love your energy and personality
The problem wasn't the hinterlands. Its what they did with it. It became empty after a few visits, but you still had to go back there.
Mr. Matty Plays
A.K.A.
Matty Shills
I think the focus on character creation is a red herring. They know that the gaming community is onto their agenda and by pushing options in character creation it gives the impression that you can operate outside of a forced agenda. However as we have seen countless times (Nexus Mods comes to mind) they demand that everyone participate in their debaucherous efforts. Guaranteed DEI lectures, just count on it.
Ive tried to listen to Matty before but he has such low standards on games and minimizes all the problems a game or Microsoft has. Like he's unable or unwilling to see anything bad
Matty seems like a nice dude but his constant shilling kinda turned me away from his content.
When someone is that "nice" all the time it usually just means they are fake and spineless.
Not importing the decisions we ve made in previos games is a slap in our faces, they are saying the old fans do not matter
This guy never recovered from his positive Redfall early impressions,
They didn't plan for expansions/DLCs because even they know that game will flop.
"We're going back to our roots"
Says the designer that just moved from Sims and actually doesn't know what the roots are..
Long time fan of dragon age i didn't like the live action direction of inquisition and it seems they have doubled down. I don't understand why would they take a unique experience and forcefully make it mundane.
I AM A GAME DEVELOPER, I AM A GAME DEVELOPER!
I can't wait to play it and make up my own mind
The Hinderlands was (to me ) a place to level up, gain money & gain power points & it really didn't take that long to run through 🤔 I don't understand why anyone would not take advantage of that & if you didn't want to, you could simply leave & move on 🤨
8:10 calm down, lady, you are going to get hearthattack. It is not worthy
The most based girl youtuber ❤️❤️
You sound like Catalina from GTA San Andreas and I love it.
