I know people like to compare Bhaal to Khorne from Warhammer a lot but the difference between the two is that Bhaal leans more into committing serial killings on the innocent while Khorne strongly emphasizes martial prowess against people that can fight back, hence why Bhaal is portrayed as a frail looking man with a knife while Khorne is a hulking armored demon with a greatsword Sarevok, the OG poster boy of Bhaal, looking like a Chaos Warrior happens to be the exception. Orin is the norm
Yeah I remember one time reading that one of Khornes highest ranking subordinates betrayed him, but the traitors attack merely glanced off Khornes armor. In response, Khorne was enraged not at the betrayal but at the cowardice of the demon who had sought to attack him from behind.

If Minsc and Jahiera are alive up till this point they'll leave your party and ambush you right outside the temple with a group of harpers. They get to go down fighting a Bhaalspawn one blast time lol
So for all that build up, the reward is a one time use spell that kills a target below 100hp and a sword. Pretty meh compared to Illith power trees if you ask me. I felt a buffed slayer form might make more sense.
The slayer form is already strong. Power word kill is pretty op when there’s nothing in the game that can rival it. The only disappointing part is that there isn’t some type of chosen buff for you would have made more sense. But an insta kill in the final act makes it pretty worth it
@@ajja2387You and your party actually get a buff in the final battle of the game. The buff is called A Most Bloody Inheritance. It gives you and your party to cast stunning gaze as a bonus action and you get critical hit on 18, 19 and 20 rolls. It stacks with other abilities like if you choose champion subclass. Pretty good buff.

I think the slayer form should have been given out later in the game but then again you were already his chosen before.
The one thing I wish for, would be to rid the camp of default followers and gain a camp of evil companions. That would've really added to doing an evil playthrough.
Ascended Astarian, Dark Justiciar Shadowheart, Power Hungry Gale, Vlaakith-Bound Lae'zel, and Minthara all seem like pretty good options. Karlach, Wyll, Jaheira, Halsin, and Minsc are the only companions that don't provide any wiggle room for evil character development. Otherwise, just use Withers' hirelings. Better yet, give yourself a challenge by playing through solo. Could be fun as a stealth character.
I mean it just is what it is. When ure evil u might get underlings but no real companions u can trust or at least just a few. Actions have consequences after all.
This is in the game, for almost every dialogue. The crossed swords button in the bottom left is the "interrupt dialogue to attack" button and it's been there the entire time. If there is ever a moment in which a character is about to do something you don't want, you can interrupt them by pressing it if it's there.
Playing through evil with the urge and accepting fathers gifts after killing Orin works. Problem is when I go for a long rest the butler wakes me up to take away slayer, even though bhaal accepted me. I wonder if it's a bug.
I would have liked a stronger Slayer form. Maybe giving the same stats BG2 Slayer had, 25 in both strength and dexterity, four 1d8 +2 cold damage per round, a bunch of spell immunities, and +8 AC (not including dexterity bonus).
So you want instant god-mode? BG3 is 5th edition, BG 1 and 2 are second edition...the buffs you want would be fine in the games that came out 20 years ago...but would be ridiculously overpowered in 5th edition. What you "like" is irrelevant when you bring up previous games that are based on entirely different rulesets from two decades ago, idiot.

Maybe I'm not up on my Baldur's Gate lore, but how did Bhaal make a comeback (or is it even addressed in BG3)? I thought at the end of Baldur's Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal, you either stole or destroyed Bhaal's throne and became a good/Evil God yourself or destroyed it and lived the rest of your life as a mortal. Either way, pretty hard for Bhaal to come back from that...
4e happened. World was broken and mashed up. THENNNNNN 5e happened, Ao (the over deity) said "I'll fix this shit ONE MORE TIME! But if you break it again, it stays broken ya FUCKS" and did a hard magic world reset. Old gods were reborn and reinstated to previous positions, new gods were brought up or ousted.

at 12:41 the stats on your slayer form are way higher than they were originally. Why is that? DO Ability score improvements to strength and whatnot carryover to slayer form or are you just wearing some items that increase strength?
To be honest I have no idea. Maybe the slayer form does get a buff if you become Bhaals chosen. As far as I know I never equipped items that raise strength on my wizard just didn't make sense. If anyone else went this route please tell us if your slayer got buffed after the encounter.
Pretty sure slayer form does get buffed. It ends up having 25 strength base. Ethel's hair and the strength potion from act 2 apply to shapeshifted forms as well, including slayer, so you end up with 28 strength.
If you don't do as bhaal says, he just kills you. No fight, no saving throw, no chance to resist. Did you think you could get one over on the god that owns your soul? Doesn't work that way buddy. Best you can do to thwart him after this is become an Illithid- which means literally destroying your own soul. Alternatively, you could refuse him in this scene- he kills you, and then you get brought back.
I dont think it has to be her, she is the only companion I left in camp that I did not use, then she got kidnapped by Orin. So If you use Minthara in your party she should be safe as the other 2 companions. In danger are the ones you leave at camp. If you have no other companions in camp I honestly dont know what happens. But there is an alternative even if she gets kidnapped. You can go after Gortash first and take his stone to Orin. But Orin is unpredictable so be on your guard she might kill your companion anyways.

Yes it is his origin story but there are different outcomes to it. You can resist Bhaal and the urge and try to do good. You should still be able to reach the temple of Bhaal and fight Orin if you are using a Tav or another origin character.

@@reydavid12fh I know there is a very rare light armour called Bhaalist Armour there are no bones on it but it matches the rest of your description. Astarion was wearing it in my video. You can get it from a merchant from the Bhaal tribunal in the city.

And yes after you get the cape you can resist the urge but I have heard somewhere that if you keep resisting the urge it may sometimes force you to do something you don't want to like hurting a npc you don't want to hurt. I didn't resist the urge so I wouldn't know.

None actually. The ones I killed were the ''good'' companions Karlach, Wyll and Gale and that was in act 1. I only kept Astarion, Shadowheart and Laezel. I did their quests and all of them had max approval of me so none of them turned on me. Shadowheart told me she is going to keep an eye on me and Laezel respected me but didn't approve of senseless killing. And Astarion was amused the whole game.
The bhaalspawn prophecy was completed when the last bhaalspawn, the player character from bg1 and 2, died. This brought Bhaal back to life as a quasi deity

Power Word kill is a level 9 spell in dnd5e. Thats a pretty good award for a game that level cap is 12

There is a mod for this on nexusmod and another one to auto cast slayer on low health / without long rest limits.
Well, slayer has big potential if you set it up right. Besides being tanky, their dmg potential is pretty high. They do need a buff though.

You don't have to kill any of your companions. I only killed a specific NPC that will be mentioned in Act 2 and got all of this.

how'd your slayer form deal 14 and 16 damage on the multi attack with two misses?
If the target is bleeding it deals extra dmg on every hit. Also if the target is dazed those attacks will automatically become critical hits.
