    The number one reason FORD sold so many 2N & 8N tractors was THE 3 point hitch and the fact they were low to the ground (hard to roll over) And women loved the features of these tractors..........

    Easy fix for the side-link adjustment. Put a hydraulic top link and side link on the three-point system. I have that setup on my tractor and can adjust the top-link and side link from the driver's seat. You need the two hydraulic cylinders, two more valve bodies, a diverter solenoid on the valve block, a solenoid switch plus four more rear hydraulic service outlets (two for flow out / two for flow in). If you use the top link and side link for implement adjustments, it's an invaluable setup. I use the adjustments for box blade, rear blade, and grading plane.

    • @GuyinWY
      @GuyinWY  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Buckhorn Cortez I agree with you. I had hydraulic top and tilt on the 5320. I just think the gearbox would be a nice factory setup, especially for smaller tractors.

    Actually there is a parking brake ratchet tooth set on both sides of the brake lever arms that once you step down on the brake pedal allow you to pull the tooth rack up to engage the bracket so that when you let up on the pedal engages the rack teeth.

    t quit my day job but it was mighty enjoyable... miles to go... makes me think of marty robbins an " Its only a hundred yards to mary anns" I remember the first time I heard it... I balled like a baby cause I could hear the wind blow and had been fixed in a bad spot a few years before with my pack string an I lost a horse in the cold but would of lost them all had I not pushed through into a box canyon... I heard from the forest service in a week that we had hit one of the most deadly storms that came out of the north east just plumb out of no where with no warning but I saw the lightning flash off in the distance so kicked my packs and ran the horses til I had to walk them. People figured that I was dead, I was busy burying my horse which had me in a bad way

    Good luck with the 8N! When I was young in 1957 to 1960 my parents had an 8N. I remember my father complaining about the ford more than the allis charmers WD. The complaint was that it needed an overhaul every year. They used it to plow fields with a 2 bottom plow and other things to grow corn. So, I guess if you only use it for low strain work, it might be ok for that. Best Wishes!
