    I've been showing up to ultra skate since 2012. My first ultra skate was on the loaded tan tien flex 3.
    Watching the continual progress that Jeff from Pantheon has made. I am nothing but inspired and motivated. Seeing this collab in person at Ultra Skate and getting to ride with everyone in this video is quite the honor. I'll be ordering one of these boards as soon as I possibly can. Keep up the good work you guys.
    P.S. - Loaded and Pantheon have been making my favorite boards for years now. I have been riding Loaded since 2011 and I wont stop anytime soon. My collection of loaded boards continues to grow.😀

    Proud owner of one of these! Question: for the nose section, i noticed that the raw wood is not covered with epoxy. Is it an issue if we touch up this portion with wood oil (like Tung oil) or a clear epoxy?

    Intriguing move. Capture new customers loyal to Loaded while giving existing Pantheon loyalists a new deck to add to their collection. Is the collab deck design patented by Loaded, or will you eventually migrate some of the design concepts over to the classic Trip?

    I have been loaded fan from 2011, but this time...
    Rayne, landyachtz, etc have this type of deck for long time with cheaper price. While tarab, bhangra still out of stock, and surprisingly, they decided to make something already there.

    • @Undergroundlongboards
      @Undergroundlongboards 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have been riding Rayne for quite a few years now. While they are sturdy, most of them are way too heavy and not very forgiving on the bumps.
      Loaded has always figured out how to make their boards fairly lightweight and with a comfortable flex upon treacherous bumps in the road.

    • @sololavida2341
      @sololavida2341 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      True, but it is also the one type of board that was maybe still missing in Loaded's arsenal!
      That signature crescent drop on Pantheon boards is way steeper than on any other comparable double drop out there (shredded a few over the last couple of years and it is not even quite close), creating more effective footspace and the ability to put your foot closer to the front truck (= enhanced steering and response).
      The fork design with the trucks standing out just a little over the front is also quite ingenious, as it protects the wood from splintering when the board hits an obstacle nose-first (like the Pantheon Pranayama has proven already).
      So while it might not be a completely new board design, still stoked to see an improved version of one of the most fun and effective boards I've ever ridden with that nice Loaded finish and craftsmanship (carbon fiber underside, cork upper layer, dialed in flex).
      Still stoked as well for the new Tarab, which will hopefully come out soon, too ;)

      @@UndergroundlongboardsIndeed, they make wonderful board, flex, nimble, fun to ride. I use to ride dervish Sama for my commuting back in college day.

  • @freshek808

    Okay I need help now. Want to buy a loaded Icarus or this one. What are the benefits of both boards? The Icarus is longer and has more flex, the Loaded pantheon has a Dropdown deck without so much flex.
    where does which board have its advantages?

    • @theSnakeism
      @theSnakeism 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi, I got both boards and here is what I can tell:
      The Icarus feels just different than any other board I tried so far. Its extremely responsive and playful and especially carving down mellow hills is just incredibly fun. For beginners it might take a while, but once you master the wild flex and concave, you can even dance and freestyle on it.
      Fast freeride or even downhill is very dangerous with this board, its just too bouncy. Going longer distances pushing and pumping is pretty demanding on the knees. I rode it to work a couple times and thats about 8km mainly flat bike path. I had knee pain lasting for weeks afterwards.
      Thats where the trip collab really shines. Pushing is really effortless and easy on the knees. It rides stable and controlled while still being surprisingly carvy and pumpable if you want it to. Its not as playful as the Icarus but still fun to ride. I bought it for commuting longer distances and it is exactly what I was looking for. I feel very safe and in control going down even steeper hills carving and throwing in some speed checks.
      It has no kicks and you cant really dance or freestyle on it.

    • @PantheonLongboards
      @PantheonLongboards 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can use 150mm with slimmer wheels (check out the 88WheelCo McFly) and 180s will certainly fit, but they will stick out further and be a little less ergonomic.

      @@PantheonLongboards With 155mm Bear Gen 6 Trucks (50 degrees), i'm getting wheelbite with (1) 85mm Oranguatans and (2) 80mm McFly Mavericks; and with (3) 80mm Boa Sigmas, I have to lean very hard to force wheelbite. Oh, and i removed the shock riser pads to lower the trucks a little. But the deck feels nice and turney with the smaller trucks, tho.

    • @TF2ReplayMaker
      @TF2ReplayMaker ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tangohotellima1895 hey there, what would be the largest wheel you'd use with this board? and did you solve the wheelbite problem?

    • @tangohotellima1895
      @tangohotellima1895 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TF2ReplayMaker Hi! Ok, so i'd rode the LB with 155mm Bears (Gen 6; 50 degrees), and (i) i could force wheelbite, but had to try hard (but @70kg, I reckon you will get it); and (ii) if i'd just swap one cone bushing out, and use a barrel (roadside), then the problem seems to go away.
      But i believe the real issue is that the Bears sit a tad (a few mm) lower than the Paris, and this reduces clearance. So it makes sense that even Paris 149mm RKPs can be fitted onto this board without wheelbite (but i'm using 165mm, stock).
      With Paris RKPs used as intended, i think you could probably use the largest wheels in the Orangatang series (105mm Dad Bods). Some tweaking needed tho.

    Would the front trucks break easily if it hits the nose. It seems it doesn't have enough protection.

    • @piercedupdude
      @piercedupdude 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Trucks are WAY WAY WAY stronger than the wood would be. And if you hit something hard enough to break cast metal trucks, then it would have shattered wood anyway

    • @PantheonLongboards

      @@piercedupdude and MOST of the time you’re not going to hit dead on. When that happens, you’ll knock the wheel, the truck will articulate and bounce off the object.

    • @PaulKentSkates
      @PaulKentSkates 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! Here is my experience:
      I have had the same baseplates on an open fork nose since 2010 and I've been using open forks nose/tails since 2005. I hit it all the time and I kick the board up and scrape the heck out of the baseplate.
      Ultimately it depends, but I would not worry about a Paris plate. We used to break Randall 2 baseplates back in the 2000's, but those castings were of poor quality.
      I wouldn't worry. If anything, this is a bonus as it protects the nose from getting damaged and in turn it prevents delamination. I'd say the board lasts way longer when made like this.
