Personally, I've never been a fan of Lady Gaga's voice and music. Probably due to the fact that I hear the same three (of her most popular) hit songs almost every single day I'm at work (and I'm at work a LOT). I just never felt the inspired urge to listen to ALL of her released material to better understand her place in music, and her place in my music playlist. For example, when I first heard "Issues" from Julia Michaels, I immediately jumped into her music completely and whole heartedly. My ears, and soul have never been let down! Another example would be that crazy girl who sang "Your Song" on X-Factor... Yeah YOU! I am a total fan of your voice and music and this cover is so good to me for two reasons. 1. interpreting it as a haunting ballad gave me instant goose bumps from the first note you sang, til the final chord trail off. Totally impressed and inspired! But that's par for the course when it comes to your cover/original music videos. 2. Now, I wonder if ANY of Lady Gaga's songs that I haven't heard might have the same effect on me as "Issues" or "Your Song". I suppose I should just dive into Lady Gaga's discography now to find out eh? Yup. Your covers are so much more than just covers. You're opening a door to some music I'd not normally consider listening to, and better yet, getting inspiration from. Keep up the great work Janet!
