I agree it should be a factory option and Mopar does sell a kit for around $100. Have the discontinued Teraflex kit on my JK. After looking around on forums and Amazon you can put together this kit for under $40, but this seems to be a great price with the discount for those that want a company to back it. If you ever want to open the hood all the way to the windshield, just pop off the ends. Another great How-To vid Chris!
“That’s the way it should’ve been from the factory “ - yes! Especially on anything above the base model; kind of absurd that it didn’t come from the factory in this day and age. Ordered this kit.
Hood struts can modernize the JK and its real cool to watch the hood rise. Disconnected my Rugged ridge hood struts last year after noticing my hood was shifting forward 0.25-0.5" past the grill. I was able to push the hood back into alignment after disconnecting them. Hope the TTO version doesn't have that problem as I really liked the idea but hood shifting sucked..
I went back and rewatched the video. And it’s just how I remembered it!!! What a nice Jeep Scott has. I noticed that he mentioned almost every manufacturer on his Jeep except the one that really manufactures the hood strut kit he has installed on his Jeep. He has the Rugged Ridge kit on his Jeep and it does not requires drilling into your Jeep. It bolts to holes already on the stock Jeep body and comes with a nut plate for the hood end. It’s very obvious that he has the Rugged Ridge bracket on the body side. Although his kit is pretty nice it is not the one he has installed that originally drew your attention in the first place and he totally skipped over mentioning the real manufacture. Sorry...but I hate when people take credit for something they didn’t make and then resale the concept without giving credit where credit is due.
So, I received this product and finally got a chance to install due to all the rain we've been getting over the East Coast. Sad to say I follow all your instructions and my hood had like quarter inch gap in between from closing. I noticed the hood bracket ball was preventing my hood from closing properly?
Brandon Koay I asked Scott about this and he said it sounds like you installed the brackets upside down on the hood. I think you have them backwards. The ball should be on the top of the bracket, not the bottom.

They actually are supposed to come back... Mine didn't. Not sure why. But don't worry about things like that too much. 😊
My hood has mover forward 1/4 inch hood lock-downs are on a angle, looks like top of hinges are on slight forward angle!

Ah, you are right! Typical amateur mistake I made, lol. Appreciate and thanks for the advise.
Is that the price for the set or for each one?
What length are they?
