I was there on the field. Hell of a show in the 5th. I thoroughly enjoyed both bands. Neither loss. We all won because we were there to hear and experience it live and direct.
Southern’s set up allows them to blow straight into the stands which amplifies their sound. They also are twice as big as any band they face. Meanwhile the visiting band is pushed in the corner and that band’s sound doesn’t carry as much because they are blowing towards Southern. The visiting band doesn’t have the empty stands reverberating their sound. One of many sneaky techniques Southern uses to have the edge at home 😊
TSU sounds incredible here in that corner. They’re pushing some mad WATTS from that corner, so stop making up stuff. They don’t need people making excuses for them, because they sound and performed just as amazing as SU in that same corner that another band always complaining about. TSU didn’t have to move their band to try and match SU. They matched them toe to toe in that same corner. Mr. Simmons just debunked that entire, “Corner”, excuse, because TSU definitely matched SU in that same corner. Musicianship, technique, pen game arranging, and song selections are key, and TSU have it all, so kudos to them. No other band matched SU like TxSU, and I mean NOBODY!

It's always been about the arrangements showing how versatile your band is pure entertainment, just because you have a large band doesn't mean you can't be clean and crisp the larger band came to be loud and the smaller band showed a combination of both volume and versatility.
SU is powerful and has volume. They sound much better than the previous few weeks… however, like KBtheBandHead said, their arrangements get lost in the imbalance of volume sometimes. They also need to clean up many of the runs/trills in some of the songs. TXSU did a great job with their balance and execution. Their song selection was much better than SU. So, I give TXSU the win.

So , JSU IS REPING IN 2024 in the "ROSE "
When Mr. Simmons get bigger this battle will replace the boombox.
TxSU was in that corner giving Southern H E L L!!!!!
We must not be watching the same 5th quarter SU up on them .
Its not about su we know what they got going on. He is saying that whatever you wanna call it tsu got that lil corner sounding like a church in atlanta with a guest chior sing the paint of the walls@cedricgibson6694

In my opinion this 5th was boring. Also, Txsu should have moved to the middle. TXSU sounded better and had better songs when they played Gram
They sound better but they ain't ready🤔🤔🤔🤔
Southern got 5th
I’m laughing at these comments , I was there and they both did good but the juke took it For ME. A lot of y’all really just hate that the juke is a consistent band and y’all band not lol
Let them tell it SU is just loud😂😂😂😂when more then likely the band they trying to put against Southern is trying so hard in their power to sound like Southern
Cmon Taylor. You know damn well the tubas are suppose to hit the jaguar rock on the breakdown of “anytime/anyplace”. People can say what they want, but when the whitehorses hit the rock over a ballad , it was CURTAINS for the other band.(((For example: Haymers arrangement of “Unfaithful” and “Purple Rain”.)) Subtle things like that are the difference between the “S” and other bands.
