you can click hold on sword man to not aggro, and let archers only aggro. To not block worker path always keep 1 tile between buildings, except housing block. To advance faster build more woodcutters to clear space, and always use all free workers, if you need more military before new day, just lower worker amount in some buildings. Usual game is you start in middle of map and expand in all directions, but this map looks interesting challenge, start in corner. And clear wood around stone, iron mines and build storage next to mines, so workers don't have to carry far away and can mine more time. Wood is main selling resource at start, later infinite stone is. You can hold shift to train 5 units... Not sure if you use these tips or only 1 video of this game :).
I’m pretty sure that workers need a direct path from one of the sides of their house to their workplace which would explain your workplace pathing problems if you look at the lake next to you major housing complex you can see a bunch of workers with the disrupted path symbol above their heads trapped my the water and the houses.
Seeing him expanding that housing complex and not noticing the "can't path" flags inches away from his cursor made me cringe real hard, one of the more egregious moments of entertainer blindness.
i was noticing in the corner of the houses there was a bunch of people stuck between the houses and water, the no pathing notifications were on the people aswell as the buildings
on the houses on the left some villagers had the same icon with the routing problem these villagers could not get to the work stasion the reason you didnt have a problem is you had 120 extra workers all game, still glad you liked the game
Looks like a pretty cool game, really would like better notice of the research though. The amount of time its idle seems rough, and sure you cant always afford it but they could do a better job telling you when the last one finished. Also I would like a better formation system, it doesn't really seem to work they kinda just mob in the direction you tell them to move. Also not super happy with the manual toggle of open or closed gates. I think I noticed the workers getting stuck near the houses at 42:18 they are all gathered in a corner and blocked by the water which caused their pathing issue. It wasn't an issue with the placement of the working building.
@Bistro999 In order for formation to work, you first need them to form in neutral area, far from enemies, so they don't start to attack enemies and lose formation. When they made formation then you can click attack enemies with attack click. But they will lose formation when starting to fight enemies because some areas will be less enemies and will kill them faster, advance faster. Only way to keep formation is to click hold on sword man, but it don't work on archers because archers won't shoot until they are attacked, but that loses archer purpose-shoot from distance and don't get hit by mealy attack. I usually hold sword man in front of archers-hold formation, let archers attack click in formation F or G behind mealy and healers in middle. Works great for clearing area.
If you enjoyed this, then check out Age of Darkness if you haven’t yet! Another RTS, survival “tower defense” in early access. It’s kinda like the old Stronghold series. Solid game and multiplayer is coming soon!
Regarding that pathing issue you built a couple of houses around one of your builder so they can't move. (visible at 30:34) Edit: Seems more peeps can spawn into those cut-off places. At the beginning there was only one in there; at the end there were 5 or 6...
Hmm. It lacks the scurry factor when building the base, and the battles are a bit tough. What makes this game different from similar games such as ‘The Settlers’ is not clear to me.
@ribaldc3998 1) Not sure what you mean by: It lacks the scurry factor. You can always speed up game and got more hectic experience :). 2) You need to be strategic with battles. Use siege to kill majority of enemies, and archers to finish up. I rarely use sword man for defense, only when there are hole in wall to not let enemies in. 3) The Settlers is more about economy with little small army fights. While this game is like game They are billions, Age of darkness, Marauder, and Rift breaker. Large armies, while economy is mainly to support that army. Only in Rift breaker there are not moving army only static defenses, and 1 moving fighting/builder robot-player.

Wanderbot: where did you come from and where did you go?
Me: cotton eye Joe is that you?
“Ooh, my food is low”
Meanwhile wander with 150+ free workers:

I’ve noticed building housing more central to the castle and eventually move the farming outside of your castle area.
More of this please
